She came back out with a half liter bottle of spiritual spring water. Ye Xuan had already finished saying goodbye and was walking towards the door with the butler.

When the butler saw her he asked her to see Ye Xuan out and turned to go back to the living room.

Chu Miao was already planning to see him out anyway so she didn’t mind.

As soon as they walked out the door, Chu Miao offered the bottle of water to Ye Xuan.

"Take this with you. It’s useful for when you have exhausted your strength or superpower and need to recharge immediately."

Ye Xuan didn’t stand on ceremony and took the bottle. "Thank you. It will be helpful."

"No need to thank me. I want you to be safe and having the water will give you an extra layer of protection in case you run into a dangerous situation." Chu Miao expressed.

"Mmm...I know." Ye Xuan said as he moved to hug Chu Miao tightly.

He felt his heartbeat speed up as soon as the girl was in his arms.

He loved feeling her so close and was happy she was now his girlfriend.

Chu Miao returned the hug and pressed her head on Ye Xuan’s chest. This was the first time she had experienced the bliss of having a boyfriend whose heart was on the same wavelength as her’s.

She felt a warm feeling spreading in her chest causing her to smile into Ye Xuan’s chest.

After hugging for five minutes, Ye Xuan let go of her and bent down to kiss her on the cheek.

It was only a touch on the cheek with his lips without lingering but it sent both their hearts on a marathon.

Chu Miao turned around with her heart racing and face blushing red and ran back to their house without looking back.

Ye Xuan, seeing her reaction, chuckled to himself. He had thought that since she was so open-minded and straightforward, she wouldn’t be so shy, but it looked like he was wrong.

She was still a young girl after all and this was her first relationship.

After the door was locked, he turned around and walked to the elevator.

Ye Xuan went back to his apartment, took his backpack and put the bottle of water in it and some crystal cores for recovering his superpowers. He also packed several bottles of mineral water, chocolate bars, and five packets of biscuits.

He didn’t know what situation that scientist was in considering that supplies had become scarce for individuals who couldn’t go out to collect supplies.

Once he was ready, he took a gun and ammunition and left. He was going alone, without even his brothers.

He had already informed them during breakfast about his plans. While he went to bring Song Ting, the scientist back, his other brothers went to collect more supplies.

Most of the supplies they had collected had been taken to the bunker in the mountains before the torrential rains started. Now Li Kun had plenty of space to collect more.

Moreover, because of diligent cultivating with the others and training, his space had expanded and increased by twenty square meters. This may not be a significant increase, but when items are stacked together, it could result in collecting way more supplies.

Ye Xuan drove out of the community gate at 9:00 am and headed towards the research institute in the northern side of the city.

He knew that since that area had a large population due to the big number of students going there everyday for learning and research purposes, there would be many zombies.

However, he also expected that the government had sent the military to clear zombies when they went to rescue the important scientists in the institute.

Also, during the time they provided emergency supplies, more of the zombies were killed. In that case, he would be able to deal with the zombies within the area even if he was alone.

He was driving a military Humvee with improved stability and power, bullet proof glass and metal plate and run-flat tires.

As he moved further away from his community, he started encountering zombies that had increased speed and response.

It could be seen that while humans were improving their superpowers, the zombies were also somehow evolving.

He wondered if others had discovered the crystal cores and their use. The only reason he and his team knew about crystal cores was because of the Chu family, what about the rest of the humans?

He decided to ask Song Ting once he brought him back. As he kept driving, tens of zombies started chasing after his car.

Due to the heavy rains, not many people had been going out to search for supplies, therefore, cutting off the source of food for the zombies.

Zombies rely on eating human flesh to improve their strength and without eating for a long time, they were starved. Although they were already dead entities and couldn’t starve to death, they still craved meat from living humans.

That’s why when the zombies heard the noise coming from the running engine of the car and smelled the fragrance of vitality felt in living beings, they chased after it.

Ye Xuan didn’t bother with these zombies as they didn’t pose a threat to him. He only focused on getting to his destination.

However, not all plans went as one wanted them to. About a couple kilometers from the research institute, a horde of more than two hundred zombies appeared around him and surrounded his car.

Realizing the situation he was in, Ye Xuan chose to get out of the car and fight.
