Doubts about Luo Hai's actions still lingered in Wen Yu's mind. Whether Luo Hai was acting under Da Luo's or the Heavenly Dao's instructions, Wen Yu couldn't rely solely on the Almighty Demon Vine's account. He decided to be even more cautious regarding Luo Hai. With nothing better to do, Wen Yu took Tang Haofei for a stroll around the entire military camp.

The camp's layout was very methodical. Wen Yu couldn't spot any particularly outstanding details, but Tang Haofei observed everything with keen interest, likely gathering useful information about military camp arrangements in the Universe of Immortals and Heroes. Wen Yu didn't press for details. Along their walk, they encountered many people. Upon seeing Wen Yu pass, all of them would stop, bow respectfully, and greet him.

According to Old Tang, every one of these individuals was quite powerful—at least strong enough to trigger Tang Haofei's Challenger trials. This once again confirmed Wen Yu's suspicion: in this hunting reward program, he was indeed on the weaker side.

The attitude of these people was quite interesting. Every single one of them treated Wen Yu with utmost respect, and they all kept their heads bowed when facing him, making it impossible for Wen Yu to discern their expressions.

Although he was convinced Luo Hai was mostly bluffing, Wen Yu couldn't afford to ignore the issue of factions. However, anyone who could reach Level 6 or Level 7 and still felt confident enough to participate in this hunting reward program was surely exceptional. At least, during his entire walk, Wen Yu didn't detect any overt hostility towards himself, nor could he distinguish who belonged to the Death Battle Faction and who belonged to the Continuation Faction.

In other words, among those participating in the hunting reward program, it was impossible to tell friend from foe, or how many of each there were. Realizing his current situation had become even more difficult, Wen Yu tugged Tang Haofei's sleeve, and they returned directly to Room 001.

It is often said that all is calm before a storm, but this wasn't quite the case for Wen Yu.

The next day, Wen Yu received several more visitors who came to pay their respects to His Highness the Young Master. Most of them didn't explicitly state their faction, merely expressing a desire to seek refuge with the Young Master and face the challenges of the hunting reward program together. For these weaker individuals who were simply looking for a backer, Wen Yu maintained a gentle smile and politely turned them away.

A few who clearly identified themselves as members of the Death Battle Faction also tried to persuade Wen Yu to "join their ranks," using the same arguments Luo Hai had presented the day before. This couldn't help but make Wen Yu consider further possibilities—for instance, that these people were already in collusion with Luo Hai. Or perhaps, the person who had instructed Luo Hai to contact him had arranged for more than just Luo Hai as a 'contingency plan.'

After politely declining their offers as well, Wen Yu, once alone, briefly reviewed the entire situation. These people's actions, far from helping him see through the fog, had plunged him into even deeper confusion. The Heavenly Dao, Da Luo... Who exactly had instructed Luo Hai to approach him? And who harbored deeper, more insidious schemes against him? These were questions Wen Yu was destined not to find answers to.

However, as evening approached, Luo Hai visited again, asking about Wen Yu's stance on the proposed alliance.

"I have considered this matter at length," Wen Yu stated clearly, "and I have decided to act alone."

After Wen Yu made his position clear, Luo Hai didn't offer any further opinions, simply saying, "Understood. Please be careful, Young Master, if you are on your own," before respectfully withdrawing.

This, paradoxically, clarified one point for Wen Yu. The person who had instructed Luo Hai to approach him wasn't particularly determined to plant a spy by Wen Yu's side. It was possible that this person bore little ill will towards Wen Yu. But there was also another possibility... More measures, whether overt or covert, would find their way to Wen Yu later on.

The night passed uneventfully. Early the next morning, after freshening up, Wen Yu found Tang Haofei, who was eating breakfast. Together, they headed to the assembly point predetermined by the Heavenly Dao. This time, because the Heavenly Dao needed to exert its vast power to directly transport those participating in the hunting reward program into the Demon Tribe's occupied territory, the assembly point within the military district had been designated long before Wen Yu's arrival.

This so-called assembly point was merely a very large dining hall within the camp.

When Wen Yu arrived, at least three hours early by his reckoning, he discovered he was still late. The dining hall was packed to the brim, a sea of people shoulder to shoulder. A quick glance allowed Wen Yu to roughly estimate that at least a thousand individuals would be heading to the Demon Tribe's occupied territory this time.

"Greetings, Your Highness the Young Master."

Wen Yu hadn't tried to conceal his presence, so he was naturally spotted. The first to notice him was a Peak Level 7 powerful expert, who bowed respectfully and greeted him. His voice likely alerted everyone else in the dining hall, as the previously noisy and chaotic room immediately fell silent.

"Greetings, Your Highness the Young Master!"

A unified shout followed. Wen Yu's expression remained unchanged. Having been the Young Master for some time, Wen Yu, who had once been a commoner, could now handle such occasions with practiced ease.

"Good morning, everyone," he said calmly, greeting his "potential competitors." He then led Tang Haofei towards the back of the dining hall, walking down a path that the crowd had spontaneously cleared for them.

Sitting in a private booth at the back of the dining hall, the noise from outside was completely blocked by the door. Wen Yu pricked up his ears, listening to the sounds of the crowd growing noisy again outside. He then waved his hand, setting up a dark energy field as an added layer of privacy, before turning to Tang Haofei.

"Well? How many noteworthy targets are out there?"

"A lot. At least half of them triggered the Challenger trial's warning. It seems your competitors this time are quite strong."

Hearing Tang Haofei's words, Wen Yu smiled and shook his head.

"Calling them 'competitors' isn't entirely accurate. You should call them... enemies!"

"Oh?" Tang Haofei raised an eyebrow.

"Let me put it this way," Wen Yu continued, "I thought about it all last night, and I'm convinced there are people planted here by either Da Luo or the Heavenly Dao."

"I don't know what their objective is, nor can I figure it out, but I'm certain these people... mostly mean no good. I spent the whole night thinking of a solution. And believe it or not, I actually found one."

"The moment we get in, we make our move. Whether it's Demon Fiends or these guys out here, we wipe them all out. That's the only way to completely eliminate all plots and schemes."

Wen Yu's idea was brutally simple: if he killed everyone, all troubles and conspiracies would lose their vessels!
