Apocalypse Landlord: My Tenants Are All Beautiful Heroines.-Chapter 24: A Welcome Surprise
[Workshop created!]
[Please proceed with role assignment.]
The messages flashed before Aiden’s eyes, but he was too busy to spare a second on them.
"Lily, huh? I wasn’t expecting this," Aiden mumbled, scratching his head.
After going through everyone’s proficiencies, he decided to make a cafeteria and workshop first. While he thought to create the Medicare center first and get it to level three, no one had high proficiency for it.
Besides, consuming cafeteria food would give random buffs and heal minor wounds. Aiden decided it was good enough for now. If anyone incurred serious injury, then they could just use the second-tier medkit from the new shop.
As for the workshop, James had a creation proficiency of 6, barely enough to operate the workshop.
Just when Aiden was about to close the interface he decided to check Lily’s profile for fun. That’s when he noticed something odd.
[Tenant: Lily Irwin’s Creation proficiency: 10/10]
[Recommended role: Domestic Support: Craftsperson]
Children were creative, but this was unprecedented. Aiden’s mind immediately went back to the two children he had seen in the mart before. The one who scavenged bullets and whatnot from a goblin corpse.
Perhaps the young ones are truly talented. I already asked Old Joe to look for them. It would be good if that rascal actually produced some results.
Since James wasn’t of much use, sending him to locate that strange group wouldn’t fare well. Besides, an established camp would have a higher chance of finding information regarding someone.
"That aside, what do I do now?"
Although Lily was best suited to take over the workshop, she was still a child. Aiden wasn’t sure if she could create anything meaningful.
"How about this?"
[Assign tenants: Lily Irwin, James Irwin to workshop?]
"Yes, assign them both."
[Assignment successful!]
[You have unlocked a <Standard> grade blueprint.]
"Now James can spend his visitation hours with Lily here, and hopefully, she’ll pick up a thing or two from him," he nodded.
Keeping that thought aside, Aiden clicked on the new blueprint only to see two blueprints there instead. One was a <Basic> grade, and the other was the one he just obtained.
"Right, I forgot about that makeshift spear. I should register Karina’s gauntlets in the system. Having that blueprint would also come in handy while I wait for Evo-Gear delivery from the camp."
While mumbling, Aiden clicked on the makeshift spear first.
+++
Blueprint: Reinforced Makeshift Spear
Materials required: Wooden/metal shaft, scrap metal, metal wire/tape.
Grade: Basic
Durability: 40 / 40 (Repairable in Workshop)
Damage: 14 ~ 29 HP
Description:
A crudely assembled spear made from scavenged materials.
A knife or a roughly sharpened metal is used as a tip, fixed to a wooden shaft using binding wire and/or industrial tape. Not a preferred weapon, but something to make do with.
Special effect:
• Pushback: On successful strike, the weapon has a (12%) chance to stagger low-HP enemies.
+++
Compared to the makeshift spear Aiden had stored in the shop, the blueprint from the workshop dealt more damage and had a special effect.
"Well, this is useless now," Aiden shrugged and clicked on the other blueprint.
+++
Blueprint: Wrist Injector
Materials required: Broken smartwatch parts, micro-injector, chemical ampoule.
Grade: Standard
Durability: 80 / 80 (Repairable in Workshop)
Charge: 3 shots per recharge.
Type: Evo-Gear
Description:
A compact injector device containing various stimulants. The stimulants can be found in the ruined world or created in a chemical station from scratch.
Special effect (stimulant dependent):
• Reduction: Stimulant containing a high dosage of capsaicin. Upon use, grants 20% damage reduction.
• (Needs to be unlocked/crafted.)
• (Needs to be unlocked/crafted.)

Unlike the reinforced spear, which could be created from materials found everywhere, the injector required specific materials that Aiden wasn’t sure even existed in the apocalypse anymore.
As useful as the wrist injectors would be for the frontliners, they would have to work without them until he found those ampoules.
"Hm, I don’t have enough materials to construct another facility," Aiden shrugged, walking back to his apartment. "Tomorrow I’ll send Karina and her crew to start clearing the lower floors."
The plan was simple. He needed utility resources, and scavenging was the only known way to get them. He would let Karina and the wolves kill the goblins hiding in the lower levels and drag their corpses back to the fourteenth floor to be scavenged.
Besides, I haven’t forgotten about the other signal I found using Dweller search tokens. If I’m lucky, I might even find a nurse or a doctor there.
The tokens were like radars for finding dwellers. Aiden didn’t use all of them to upgrade his class quickly for two reasons.
First, the system’s welcome gifts always contained one-off items. In other words, once he used the tokens, he wouldn’t find them again.
He even tried registering the token in the shop, but nothing happened. Moreover, he didn’t get any more of those tokens with his class upgrade. It only solidified his decision.
Second, the other dweller was stuck on the ground floor. According to James, that floor was overrun with goblins. Even if Aiden used the token to recruit the tenant, it would be of no use.
The person would remain stuck on the lower floors since Aiden couldn’t possibly clear the goblins while stuck on the fifth floor. That’s why getting an assault team took priority over everything.
It’s a miracle the person survived for this long. They must be super strong.
Aiden had just stepped inside when he got hit with a human-shaped cannonball. Instead of hurting him, the woman wrapped her arms around his waist.
"Did you have to take that gorilla in?" Alisha said in a muffled voice, her head buried in Aiden’s chest.
"Why do you ask?" Aiden said, grinning. "Don’t tell me a grown woman like you is jealous of her?"
"Just answer—"
Before she could speak her mind, Aiden turned around and pushed her into the wall next to the door, before pinning her hands to the wall with one arm.
The sudden change in Aiden’s attitude took her by surprise, even then, she couldn’t stop blushing as he leaned in.
"She is useful," he whispered, nibbling Alisha’s ears. "Not to mention, strong and resourceful. However, you’re still my first choice."
As he said so, his free hand slowly slid down from her lips, stopping at her breasts.
"Besides, I just can’t stop thinking about these since last night," he said. "Don’t you think you should take responsibility for that?"
