Apocalypse King: Recruiting S-Tier Beauties With My Ruler System-Chapter 239: Foreign Beauties are Dangerous!
"Phew..."
I let out a long breath, the feeling of something trying to bind me fading.
System, what just happened?
Before the response came, I rushed in Li Ya’s direction, holding my longsword.
I ran across the wet mud and jumped, slashing down with an immense power that sent two brutes flying through the air and into a crumpled heap. The moment they hit the ground, I dashed towards another brute and cut through it.
The speed at which I could move made killing these brutes a breeze. However...
I looked over my shoulder at Tang Wei.
She fired her shotgun and killed one hunter, but the rest darted across the ground at tremendous speed, making it hard to see them.
"Those bastards...."
Her body moved in a flexible motion before she spun around and slashed through a hunter’s throat, her head tilted as its claw sliced through her cheek. What amazed me was that while she focused on the first monster. Tang Wei aimed her sawed-off shotgun at the hunter to the left and pulled the trigger.
"Damn she’s hot..." I muttered while pulling my blade from a brute’s chest.
Li Ya looked at me with a strange look, her eyes sharp and frowning.
"Are you some kind of monster?" She asked in a low voice but didn’t wait for a response—her halberd cut through a zombie, then spun around and smashed another in the back.
The blow lacked force, and the Stage Three swung at her.
I dashed forward, sliding through the mud as I took out its legs, then pierced it with a mighty upwards thrust that sent the tip into its groin and then up its torso, tearing the creature in half. "Why am I a monster?"
Our backs pressed together, the number of zombies slowly decreasing. However, Li Ya and Tang Wei slowed down, their stamina draining with each swing.
"Heh... are you really not aware?"
She pushed off my back and lunged at a blade-type’s chest, plunging the spearhead into its eye. A loud hiss came from it as she pulled back, and with an explosive shout, she tore it down the middle like a piece of fruit.
"What do you mean?"
"Forget it!"
The battle continued, with me covering for their mistakes, killing, killing and killing.
"Haa....haa.... this is crazy...." Li Ya leaned on her spear, wavy red hair covering her face, several wounds across her arms, the body suit torn to reveal her hips and abdomen.
Tang Wei’s suit was not much better; it was torn at the chest and crotch, revealing that she wore a leopard print thong. Sadly, the actual view wasn’t enough to see anything. "Damn we finally killed those fast bastards."
She spat on the ground while I looked at my chipped sword, its blade slightly deformed.

The control type hid in the back of the Stage Two zombies, with all the Stage Three zombies dead, it seemed to be trying to escape.
"We have to get that blue one."
"Tsk... John, I really can’t..." Li Ya’s eyes pleaded. I noticed the blood from her palms... she fought hard against the brutes.
"Here, take this, and just cover me." I took a Type-9K from my inventory and tossed it to her. There were four spare mags, and the upgraded ammunition could easily kill Stage Two zombies.
"Wei Wei, are you able to fight?"
Tang Wei didn’t complain about me using a cute pet name—her amber eyes looked at me as she huffed.
"I’ve still got some left."
It was hard not to let my eyes drift down her body, exposed from the torn suit, but I controlled myself and took a deep breath—if I wanted to do that, there was always later.
I stepped forward and summoned my gauntlets; the blade vanished back into place, replaced by two powerful fists.
The Stage Two zombies moved in a formation, blocking my approach to the command type zombie, then... as if on cue, they roared and dashed at me.
Hunters, Brutes and Blades.
Yet they moved too slowly... the crackle of gunfire came from behind me as Li Ya started mowing down the enemy, but it wasn’t enough.
"I’ll deal with these..." I said to myself.
I rushed towards the horde and leapt into the air.
BANG! BANG!
Two salvos of my Buckshot rounds tore through their delicate flesh like paper.
I kicked a brute’s face while my right fist exploded outwards with an impact that smashed a hunter’s head open like a watermelon.
Then I ducked, dodging a blade aimed for my neck before my hand blurred.
Before my brain reacted, my hand penetrated the blade-type’s neck.
"Damn...!"
The battle became chaotic, as I lost myself in the heat of combat.
A slash here, a punch there.
I moved faster than I had before. The feeling of my muscles pushing to their limits was exhilarating. That’s when a blue thread floated across my face... something strange and ethereal that didn’t belong here.
Tang Wei stepped beside me with dull eyes before she lifted her sawed-off shotgun.
Eh?
Suddenly, I felt something sharp, hot and painful shooting through my right thigh.
Boom!
Tang Wei fired her shotgun at point-blank range.
She targeted me.
"What the fuck!?"
I kicked backwards instinctively, sending the woman tumbling into the mud.
"Tang Wei!? John!" Li Ya screamed, then ran to our side while firing at the zombies.
"Stay back!" I yelled, gripping my bleeding thigh. The wound would heal fast, but... the blue glow in Tang Wei’s eyes made me nervous as she aimed at me again.
BANG!
Her shot rang out like a crack in the air, but I ducked and threw mud at her. The splatter distracted her long enough to get close. Without holding back, I put power into my knee—yet, the moment I went to attack, I felt a cold chill down my back. Somehow, I managed to twist out of the way.
Swish!
The halberd of Li Ya cut through the air and dug into the mud with a wet squish.
Tang Wei’s left hand pulled out a dagger, so I caught her wrist mid-swing before punching her hard in the gut.
"Guha!?"
Her eyes widened with the blue light fading as she vomited and fell to the ground.
My legs moved like wind as I dashed towards Li Ya. She lifted her halberd with a blank expression, but it wasn’t enough. With a sharp, roundhouse kick, I knocked her off the ground. With a subtle crack, she landed beside Tang Wei, convulsing.
[Danger! Stage Three Command Type has taken control of Tang Wei and Li Ya!]
"A bit late..."
I grumbled, turning to the blue zombie surrounded by a dozen blade types.
"Did you think I would let you live, after making me hit my future women?"
I flicked the gauntlets, and the metal snapped back into swords, both glimmering with an eerie gleam as I dashed towards them, twisting and slashing through each one without mercy.
My arms sliced, diced and turned them into mincemeat, then I stepped into the command type’s face and punched it. It stumbled backwards before trying to escape, but I followed close behind and grabbed its head.
The disgusting four-legged freak made a loud screech, like nails on a chalkboard.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Four successive shots rang in my ear as I blew its brain out all over the ground.
A blue orb shaped like the moon sat between my legs.
It made me realise that danger wasn’t always in the form of strength.
"I need to increase the spirit of all women..."
Tap~
"Siwan, I believe that should be enough right?" The communication device buzzed, but the happy response I wanted didn’t come.
Instead, a low, tired voice answered.
"J...John, is Tang Wei and Li Ya okay? Are they hurt?"
Jiang Siwan asked with a concerned expression. "Why do you sound like that? They are fine, I think Li Ya broke something... but it’ll heal in a few days."
"W-What happened to you..."
"To attack them?"
The information on control types seemed lacking in this group, but I couldn’t explain how I managed to resist the mind control that it appeared able to use on these two. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
I didn’t want to reveal too much information about myself, but I knew there would come a time when someone would get suspicious of my strength and abilities.
"Yes..."
"The higher stage Command Types seem able to control humans too."
I leaned back on the floor, my hand resting on Tang Wei’s chest, her breathing stable, but I worried that there might be lingering effects on her mind. Li Ya seemed more relaxed, hugging her halberd as she slept.
"Well I will tell you more when we come back inside, get some good alcohol for me."
"Alcohol... W-Wait—!"
Bzzzt!
After closing the communication device, I noticed Tang Wei’s eyes watching me, and the blue crystal in my hand was glowing softly.
"How are you feeling?" I asked.
"Did... did I shoot you?" She sounded terrified. Her body trembled while looking at me with wet eyes. "Please don’t leave..." I had no idea where all this came from until she gripped my thigh, her finger touching my wound.
"Leave? What do you mean?"
Her expression and eyes looked delirious and confused, like someone on morphine.
I could only stroke her black hair with a faint sigh.
"Don’t touch the wound, I won’t leave."
