Chapter 602: I don’t feel like eating beef,

Big Ears and his crew slipped away without a sound, disappearing into the tunnel they’d dug in advance.

Meanwhile, the Chonk Zombie King was still trapped in the thick black fog. He thrashed his massive claws through the air, trying to clear it.

"When I catch you bastards, I’m gonna kill every last one of you!"

He seethed with rage, silently vowing revenge as he pushed forward through the darkness.

No one knew how long it took, but eventually, the dense fog began to thin. With a pack of lesser zombies trailing behind him, the Chonk Zombie King finally broke through to the other side.

But as their vision cleared, they all froze.

Out in the open field ahead stood rows of white tents, each stamped with the red letters "GB." Figures were emerging from them—humans.

"There are humans here??" Chonk Zombie King’s eyes widened in disbelief.

But before he could process it, the Awakener forces from Genesis Biotech had already spotted them. Red energy flared, and two blazing fireballs shot through the air.

BOOM! BOOM!

The explosions rocked the field, sending shockwaves in every direction. A bunch of Canadian zombies were instantly blown off their feet.

Even the Chonk Zombie King was hurled backward, landing hard on his ass. His whole body was scorched black, but thanks to his thick layers of fat, he’d absorbed most of the impact without serious injury.

"Attack! There are human Awakeners here—kill them all!" he roared, his fury boiling over as he sent out a mental command.

His underlings howled in response and charged forward.

At the same time, red warning lights began flashing inside the Genesis Biotech camp. A shrill alarm blared—zombie breach.

Awakeners armed with Crystal Core Firearms rushed out to meet the threat, and the two sides clashed in a full-on battle.

Far off in the distance, Big Ears and the others stood watching the chaos unfold. Energy blasts lit up the battlefield, and the air was filled with the constant roar of zombie howls.

More and more zombies were pouring in—clearly, the Chonk Zombie King was getting overwhelmed and had called for reinforcements.

The fight was escalating fast.

"Boss, mission accomplished," Big Ears said with a greasy grin, reporting in.

"Mm, not bad," Ethan replied, having just arrived himself. He stood quietly, watching the mayhem unfold.

His plan was simple: let them wear each other out, then swoop in and clean up. After all, those crystal cores were too valuable to pass up. And while he was at it, maybe he’d find a lead on that missing stone tablet.

"Go on, keep fighting. Don’t hold back," he muttered with a smirk.

...

Inside the Genesis Biotech camp, just like at the mountaintop base, there weren’t many actual humans left. Most had been transformed into metal-bodied hybrids.

The Canadian zombies had come in drooling, ready for a feast. But when they finally managed to tackle an Awakener and sank their teeth in, they hit cold, gleaming metal beneath the skin—nearly shattering their jaws.

"What the hell?! That’s hard as hell!"

One zombie let out a pained shriek.

A young man among the defenders smirked, green lights flickering in his eyes.

"You really thought we were just prey?"

As he spoke, more metal-bodied warriors emerged. The mechanical army surged forward, charging straight at the Canadian zombies.

"What the hell are these things?" Chonk Zombie King’s eyes bulged. This was way beyond anything he’d seen before.

And these metal freaks weren’t weak, either.

Especially the ones fused with energy—they packed a serious punch.

Realizing he was outmatched, Chonk Zombie King had no choice but to keep sending out distress signals, summoning more and more zombies from the surrounding area.

Their only hope was to overwhelm the enemy with sheer numbers, grinding them down bit by bit.

The mechanical army, like the PhD’s modified zombies, had one major weakness: high energy consumption. Their first wave was brutal, but after that, their power started to taper off.

Still, their firepower was insane—every one of them could take out ten zombies before going down.

It wasn’t until Chonk Zombie King called in tens of thousands of zombies that the battle finally reached a stalemate. Only then could his horde stand toe-to-toe with the mechanical legion.

Seeing victory within reach, the Canadian zombies grew even more frenzied, their bloodlust boiling over.

On the other side, the Cyborgs—drained of energy—began triggering their self-destruct protocols.

Explosions erupted across the battlefield. One after another, mushroom clouds bloomed into the sky, shockwaves ripping through the air.

Even the Chonk Zombie King got caught in the blasts, sent tumbling through the dirt, his entire body scorched and covered in soot. But despite looking like a walking charcoal briquette, he was still hyped—because this meant the enemy was losing.

The Cyborg youth leading the charge noticed it too. His eyes locked onto Chonk Zombie King.

"If that’s the case... I’ll take you down before I burn out!"

"Huh?!" Chonk Zombie King’s eyes widened in alarm.

The youth’s body began to radiate a biting cold. A razor-sharp ice spike extended from his palm, and in a blink, he was lunging straight at him.

Chonk Zombie King, built for brute force, had no chance of dodging. He raised a massive hand and caught the ice spike mid-air, the deadly tip stopping just two inches from his eyeball.

The two locked in a dead heat, strength against strength.

But then, the Cyborg’s other hand flared with searing heat. Flames burst to life, and he slammed his burning palm straight into Chonk Zombie King’s soft, fatty belly.

"RAAAHHH—!"

The zombie king howled in agony as his gut sizzled. He grabbed the Cyborg’s flaming wrist, trying to shove him away.

But the Cyborg was no pushover—his strength matched Chonk Zombie King’s blow for blow.

The fire surged hotter, wrapping around the zombie king’s body. His skin crackled, smoke rising as his flesh charred and blackened.

The last time someone got roasted this bad was Bighead, the Zombie King from San Diego...

Just as Chonk Zombie King writhed in pain, the Cyborg suddenly froze. The flames flickered, then began to die out.

A new figure had appeared behind him—a man in a crisp white shirt, calm and composed.

Ethan.

He’d been waiting for the right moment to swoop in and clean up. Now that both sides were worn down, it was harvest time.

A katana shimmered into existence in his hand. With a single, fluid motion, he slashed.

SHING—

The blade sliced clean through the Cyborg’s metal neck. Sparks flew as the head spun through the air and hit the ground with a dull thud.

The ice and fire energy in the Cyborg’s hands vanished instantly.

Chonk Zombie King blinked, stunned. The pain was gone. He looked up at Ethan, eyes wide, already sensing the overwhelming power radiating from him.

And then it hit him—this guy wasn’t just strong. He was something else entirely.

"Thanks... for saving me," Chonk Zombie King said, still catching his breath.

"No problem," Ethan replied casually, like he’d just swatted a fly.

Chonk Zombie King studied him. This zombie king seemed surprisingly chill. Judging by his accent, he was probably American.

"You’re way stronger than the other American zombies. A few of them tried to bash my head in with rocks earlier—total amateurs. You? You’re on another level. When this is all over... I’ll treat you to some beef."

"I don’t feel like eating beef," Ethan said flatly.

"...Huh?" Chonk Zombie King blinked, confused. Something felt off.

And then—movement in the distance.

A group of zombies was approaching.

Leading the pack were four familiar figures—Big Ears and his crew.

"Yo! Fatass! Heard you were looking for me?" Big Ears called out, grinning.

"What the—? You guys?!"

Chonk Zombie King’s beady eyes bulged. Behind Big Ears were Fear, Gatorax, and several other Zombie Kings, along with a squad of elite undead.

In that moment, everything clicked.

He slowly turned to look at Ethan again, his face draining of color.

The guy in the white fur coat standing calmly in front of him... was him.

The absolute top dog of the American undead.
