The squad continued forward.

Reinforcements arrived for the squad battling vampire mages in the tunnels, and the vampires found themselves caught in a pincer attack.

Their leader made a grave mistake; they thought they could buy some time but ended up losing nearly three hundred vampires.

Despite the losses, they refused to surrender, and shelter soldiers had to fight for every inch of ground in the tunnels.

"Vara Tal, Valdus... They’re all dead! Mizar? What... what happened here!"

When he realized what he was seeing, Mekar’s eyes almost popped out.

Slaves, vampires, chimera beasts... They were all suspended in the air, wrapped in something that looked like a web woven from blood and flesh.

Mizar Altus floated in a pool of purple liquid, only his head remained above the surface. He glared viciously at the young vampire.

"You! What are you doing?!" The young vampire shouted, fleeing the room in panic.

Then, something that looked like a gut wrapped around his leg like a snake.

It yanked hard, and the young vampire was tossed into the web of blood and flesh.

"You’re insane! Don’t do this! I’m begging you! I want to live! I don’t want to become a monster!"

"Hahaha! Young one, don’t be so rude!" Mizar laughed, his upper body emerging from the liquid.

When the young vampire saw him, tears streamed down his face... It was a true monster.

At first, it looked merely like a head, but... seconds later, the head transformed into an extremely terrifying thing...

As Mekar screamed, he and everyone suspended in the web of blood and flesh were pulled into the pool of liquid.

The horrifying monster just laughed madly.

When the last body sank into the purple liquid, it turned red and began to bubble.

The Earth Mages immediately began clearing the blockage; it took a great amount of time, and every time they opened a tunnel, they found a horde of chimera beasts waiting for them on the other side.

The further they went in, the more dangerous the monsters they encountered.

They encountered a large number of chimera beasts possessing various abilities, and a number of soldiers ended up injured.

They were especially astonished by a huge monster occupying the entire tunnel.

The squad ran back along the original route, but before they could jump out of the tunnel, the chimera beasts caught up with them.
