Apocalypse: Hero of Potato Fields-Chapter 366 - 353: The New Survivors
Hanover.
Lin Yi headed towards the survivors.
He instructed the Beastman to appear extremely intimidating and had the Elf Priest float with a glowing aura.
As this eye-catching trio approached the school, they were greeted by a cacophony of noise.
Many people were frightened by the Beastman.
Terma was clad in sturdy scale armor, and his helmet was made from a silver skull covered in scales, with two three-feet-long axes hanging from his belt.
"Time is up. If you want to join my faction..." Lin Yi pointed to his company logo, shamelessly copied from the Umbrella Corporation in Resident Evil.
"... then leave this school. I’ve already told you my terms."
"Stop!" shouted a man in a suit the moment he saw people start to gather and move towards the flag.
About a thousand survivors immediately gathered around him.
"What’s the matter?" Lin Yi lazily glanced at the arrogant guy and asked.
"We demand better terms than the ones you offer, and we also demand to retain our private properties," Otto Weber declared while adjusting his glasses.
"Haha, interesting." Lin Yi turned to the crowd and said, "Do you all agree with this man?"
The people around Weber exchanged glances, whispering to each other, and about a third of them distanced themselves from the group.
Seeing that there were still some stubborn ones left, Lin Yi ignored Weber and summoned an infantry squad.
The soldiers immediately surrounded the shouting man and everyone standing with him.
"Take these people away and find a place to hold them. We’ll deal with this matter later."
Many people realized what was happening and began to plead, but it was too late.
Lin Yi had no intention of letting any troublemakers disrupt his Shelter.
The survivors quickly gathered under the flag, though it was too crowded to accommodate everyone.
As Lin Yi anticipated, all the despicable and shameless individuals sided with Weber.
"Now listen up, I am Lin Yi, your future boss.
I will give each of you a contract. If you sign it, you’ll be taken to a different location.
There’s food and water there, and it’s much safer than here. There, you all have to work; I don’t tolerate freeloaders.
You will have enough food to eat, a home of your own, and everything you need for a decent life.
When you arrive at your new home, don’t panic. My people will ask you a few questions and disarm everyone to ensure our collective safety."
Lin Yi waved his hand, and a large group of survivors saw the standard Shelter contract.
Everyone started discussing the contract immediately.
Then people began to disappear one by one, reappearing within a fenced area of the Shelter’s agricultural zone.
There were already chefs working there, along with about a hundred guards, Mind Readers, and a group of Professionals with Level 2 Mind Sensing Skills.
They were ready to question the newcomers.
The fenced area quickly became crowded.
When these survivors appeared in this unfamiliar place and saw the surrounding fences and fully armed soldiers, their emotions were mixed.
Surprise, panic, curiosity...
"Please line up in five rows and proceed to the exit in an orderly fashion."
The survivors saw five people sitting behind tables and an exit.
When they reached the table, they were either let through one by one or as a family.
Each interviewer was protected by two soldiers armed with AP-4 rifles in case of trouble.
After all, some survivors were Professionals, and what if any of them resisted or caused trouble?
"Name, surname, age, profession, then Level and Skills," Philip said to the young man in filthy clothes sitting across from him.
He used the camera on his laptop to take a photo of this survivor, preparing to document the inquiry.
Now, they have a database of all Shelter residents, which made the work of public servants like him much easier.
They could also use this database to search for relatives of Shelter residents in other camps.
In Lille alone, over seventy relatives were found, and they had started establishing databases for Cologne and Düsseldorf.
"I am Rudolph, eighteen, homeless leader of the homeless children in Hanover, Level 11, Skill: Beast Spirit Walker." The young man responded quickly and concisely.
A large group of children ranging from toddlers to near-adults gathered behind him. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"Have you killed anyone? If so, for what reason?" Philip asked, closely observing the child’s eyes.
"Yes, I killed to protect my people." Rudy replied with some unease.
"But it’s not that simple, is it?" Philip said, frowning.
He was an experienced psychologist, so even without his skills, people were like open books to him.
"Alright, here it is... Once I killed two guys who tried to steal my loot... My people needed that food. Without it, they would die!"
Rudy’s emotions became agitated while answering but quickly calmed down and lowered his head.
