Chapter 328: Chapter 325: Burned Himself

The town of Brilon.

The battle is ongoing.

"Headquarters, this is Helicopter One. We’re ready to attack."

"Permission granted to attack, Helicopter One."

Lin Yi issued the command, and a barrage of magic missiles screamed through the air, striking the giant serpent with deafening explosions.

A few magic-enhanced explosions left lethal wounds on the monster, with blood and chunks of flesh splattering the surrounding area.

The serpent roared in fury, trying to knock the helicopter down, but the pilot increased altitude, swiftly flying out of its counterattack range.

The monster roared furiously, thrashing about, destroying the already damaged buildings.

However, no matter how hard it tried, it couldn’t retaliate against the enemy.

Lin Yi could only pray that at least some equipment in the base remained intact...

As soon as the serpent paused, the artillery immediately sprang into action, starting to shoot.

Only a quarter of their shells actually hit the target, but that was enough.

The giant monster, desperately trying to swat the helicopter with its tail, roared angrily and collapsed with a crash.

The power of the shells couldn’t match the missiles, but it was still painful for the serpent, bleeding profusely.

Many scales were torn off its body, and its flesh was gouged and wounded in numerous places.

However, the monster took only a few seconds to get back up and charged toward the direction the shells had come from.

But before it could retaliate, the helicopter launched another round of missiles, using the last of its ammunition.

A series of massive explosions ensued, followed by a cry of agony.

Blood and flesh rained down over a diameter of several hundred yards.

A large hole appeared on the serpent’s skull, and its left eye was completely destroyed.

Yet even this couldn’t stop the giant monster...

The serpent groaned painfully, raising its bloodied mouth to the sky. But this was not a dying howl...

It was a command!

Moments later, all the snakes within half a kilometer went berserk, charging at the humans.

But their target was not the ordinary soldiers; it was the artillery.

A new round of assault began, but this time it was the snake swarm attacking.

Lin Yi finally lost patience and summoned the Fire Mages, who immediately erected a Fire Wall around the artillery. But these snakes were fearless.

They leapt into the flames like arrows, trying to hurl their burning bodies at the detestable humans.

And the tactic worked...

Several mages were suffocated under the dead snakes’ weight, and a few snakes even managed to crawl through the flames, though the infantry dealt with them.

The situation turned into chaos.

Lin Yi teleported the artillery and most of his men back to the Shelter, leaving only the Fire Mages maintaining the Fire Wall and their protectors behind.

Suddenly, the snake swarm stopped and began to flee.

At least, that’s how it seemed to Lin Yi, as they were crawling away from the humans.

"Don’t chase them! Clean up the battlefield!" Lin Yi ordered and then contacted Hubert, "What happened? Why did these snakes suddenly retreat?"

"Mira took down the giant serpent."

"What a fool... I told her to distract it!"

"Is that a problem?"

"The problem is the reward," Lin Yi mumbled.

"...I forgot about that..."

The monster was at least level four! It definitely wouldn’t drop a purple-quality reward...

The soldiers dealt with the injured snakes and also tended to the wounded soldiers.

Fortunately, no one got them mixed up.

There were many wounded... and nine-tenths of their equipment needed repair.

No one died, but the field hospital was crowded—fractures, poisoning, bruises, concussions, and even some limb losses...

At least the loot was plentiful. All the snakes were mutated, so they dropped green-quality or better rewards.

Of course, the battle wasn’t entirely over yet.

Some snakes went back to the base, some returned to the forest, and the remainder went back to the town.

No one wanted to track down these slippery monsters.

They needed to regroup, collect all the loot, and tend to the wounded.

The giant dragon soon returned.

Mira had transformed into a miniature dragon, about three-quarters the size of Da Chuan.

With silver scales, an elegant body, slender wings, and a long tail.

Even her horns had become more graceful and feminine. Compared to her, the Da Chuan giant dragon looked like a brute.

The dragons landed, transformed back into human shape, or more precisely, into power armor, and then two people emerged from the armor.

"I took it down, boss," Mira said softly and contentedly.

Da Chuan was stunned.

His beautiful girlfriend had become even... cuter!

"Is your transformation... a reward this time?"

"I’m now a Legendary Silver Dragon!" the young woman joyfully declared, flaunting her beautiful silver hair and fair skin.

She was a bit taller, and her demeanor seemed more dignified...

But it was only a surface change.

"Da Chuan, if you want to be worthy of a Legendary Giant Dragon, you’ll have to figure out how to get stronger..."

Mira said arrogantly, looking at her boyfriend with disdain, her pride swelling.

"Hahaha! Come over, Da Chuan."

Lin Yi waved, calling the "unworthy" kid to his side.
