Apocalypse Baby-Chapter 206: Unscathed
Ethan's scream rang through the battlefield, sharp and grating.
Alex clicked his tongue in irritation.
Enough.
He stepped forward, reaching for Ethan's throat, ready to silence him—
ROOOOAR!
A sudden blast of heat surged from the side.
A massive flaming dragon materialized out of nowhere, its fiery jaws wide open as it crashed into Alex, sending him skidding backward.
The flames swelled, wrapping around him like a blazing storm before—
An explosion erupted, consuming Alex in an inferno.
KRA-KOOM!
Huff... Huff...
Darrel appeared beside Ethan, his chest rising and falling rapidly.
His eyes darted to Ethan's severed arm, and he clicked his teeth in frustration.
"Dammit."
Katie rushed in next, her hands glowing as she pressed them against Ethan's wound, healing the damage.
Darrel gritted his teeth.
Only he and Ethan could put up even a half-decent fight against this monster.
And yet—they were losing.
Badly.
This was worse than the fight against the Beast Lord.
Back then, at least the beast had gone all out to destroy them.
But the human in front of him wasn't even trying.
Darrel could tell they'd yet the see all he could dish out.
Alex was just toying with them.
The flames from Darrel's attack faded, revealing Alex completely unscathed.
Not even a speck of soot marked his skin.
Without hesitation, he lunged back into the fray, cutting down anyone foolish enough to stand in his way.
His movements were effortless, brutal, unstoppable.
Two players rushed at him from opposite sides.
Alex scoffed.
He bent down, grabbed a handful of shattered rock, and with an explosive flick of his wrist—
The stones shot through the air like bullets.
CRACK!
One pierced through the first player's shoulder, sending him tumbling.
THUD!
Another embedded itself in the second player's leg, dropping him to the ground, howling in pain.
Blood splattered. Bones shattered.
The sight of it was enough.
Panic set in.
One by one, the players began to flee, running blindly into the woods.
It didn't matter.
Alex wasn't chasing them. He didn't need to.
Because the ones who remained, were the ones too foolish or too greedy to retreat.
Darrel was one of them.
His body screamed at him to run.
But his hunger for power held him back.
He clenched his fists, forcing himself to stay.
Even if every instinct told him—he was making a fatal mistake.
This was a chance to shoot to the top and to him that mattered more than anything.
Darrel gritted his teeth.
If he won here, he could guarantee his future outside the tutorial.
That thought alone anchored him.
He forced himself to steady his breath, steel his resolve, and prepared to attack again.
But then…
A single word shattered everything.
"Black Flame."
FWOOOSH!
Searing black fire erupted over Darrel's body.
"AAAARRGHH!"
The flames devoured him instantly, twisting and curling around his skin like living chains.
This wasn't normal fire.
This was something far worse.
Darrel had fire immunity—he should've been fine.
But this fire ignored the very concept of immunity.
It ate through him.
His flesh sizzled. His armor melted. His screams filled the air.
He thrashed wildly, stumbling left and right, desperately trying to put it out.
But it clung to him.
Like it had a mind of its own.
The healer in his faction, seeing his leader in agony, rushed forward, hands glowing, ready to intervene.
But Alex without even looking, casually flicked a pebble from the remnant he held.
FWIP!
The tiny rock shot through the air like a bullet—
CRACK!
It slammed into the healer's forehead.
His eyes rolled back.
His body slumped.
THUD!
Knocked out instantly.
Darrel was alone.
Still burning. Still screaming.
And Alex?
Alex walked past the screaming Darrel without a second glance.
His footsteps were calm. Steady.
Like he had all the time in the world.
His eyes locked onto Ethan and he frowned.
His severed hand had fully healed.
Ethan flinched the moment he saw Alex moving toward him.
He scrambled to his feet, but Darrel's agonized wails behind him only made his fear worse.
Alex's eyes narrowed.
Something caught his attention.
She was moving away from Ethan, her body wrapped in a faint, shifting glow.
Katie?
A stealth skill, or magic accessory.
Something that hid her.
But Alex's gaze pierced through it like paper.
So that's how Ethan recovered his entire.
Katie was the reason.
And she would definitely get in his way again.
That wouldn't do.
FWOOSH!
In the blink of an eye, Alex blitzed toward her.
Past Ethan.
And before Katie could even process what was happening, he was right in front of her.
Her breath hitched.
Her retreat came to a halt.
Alex loomed over her like a storm about to break.

Her instincts screamed at her, but she forced herself to speak.
"W-Wait! Alex, you don't want to—"
BANG!
She never got to finish.
Alex's fist slammed into her stomach with the force of a sledgehammer.
Her body lurched.
Her mouth opened, but no words came out—only a guttural gasp.
Her feet left the ground.
Then...
THUD!
She collapsed forward, hitting the dirt.
Unconscious.
Ethan's eyes widened in rage.
"You bastard!" he roared, raising his sword.
With a furious slash, a crescent of golden energy tore through the air toward Alex.
"How could you do that to a woman?!"
Alex barely glanced at him.
His expression didn't change.
His response was cold.
"What woman?... I only see enemies."
"You bastard!"
Ethan roared, ready to charge—
But Alex didn't give him the chance using [Echo of Annihilation]
BOOM!
A force erupted from Alex's mouth, slamming into Ethan like an invisible tidal wave.
His body shot backward.
And he collided with a tree, the bark splintering on impact.
CRACK!
Before he could even react—
Another wave of sonic wave hit.
Then another.
Alex didn't let up. Relentless.
Each wave sent shock tremors through the air, rippling toward Ethan with unforgiving force.
Ethan's golden aura flared in defense, struggling to resist—
But [Echo of Annihilation] was...
