Chapter 171: Not Just The World Young Lady

"More than 300 billion... For a human’s karma? How is that even possible, when hurting this many people?" Talon questioned. It was truly incomprehensible.

Still, neither the Sages were fools nor were the gods and goddesses who watched in astonishment. Each of them knew what this meant. If someone could be so perfect as to have more karma than even the gods and goddesses themselves, despite having killed so many people...

How many lives must this person have saved?

The world’s population was large, but it did not exceed 300 billion. In that case, how many lives must his actions have saved? How many animals? How many humans? How many elves? How many dwarves? How many dragons? How many fairies? How many races had he saved?

This also necessitated asking the question:

"Atlas... How many lives did he save?"

When Cordelia asked this question, the entire realm shone. The memories that emerged around them were ones none of them had ever seen before. Atlas’s steps, the lives he had taken, and the people he had tried to protect... each one was laid bare, and with every passing second, hundreds of memories vanished, replaced by new ones.

[ERROR!] appeared in the sky suddenly. As the Sages tried to figure out what was happening, another message appeared beside it:

[ERROR!!!]

[ERROR!!!]

[ERROR!!!]

[ERROR!!!]

The error messages appearing one after another and directly overlapping each other seemed to make it impossible for even the dungeon to perform a complete calculation. Or perhaps the calculations had slowed down.

In the end, as every Sage or every god and goddess watching over the sacred land could see, everything was in a strange state. The hundreds of memories disappearing every second and the hundreds replacing them were successfully inflicting an incredible shock on them.

Nevertheless, this strange shock continued to multiply the pride they felt towards Atlas, unlike the bad memories that mentally affected them.

Every memory, every single one of them, was a memory of him protecting others.

Some showed them saving people from drowning, others from burning, others from all kinds of attacks, some from spells powerful enough to kill them instantly, and many more.

They were terrifying memories. Unimaginably bleak.

In each memory, there were hundreds of dead bodies around. Hundreds of bodies, regardless of age, gender, or race. Children or the elderly, women or men, elves, dwarves, fairies, half-demons, half-humans, and more... They were bleak memories, but no matter what, Atlas managed to find the survivors and save them.

Every memory... showed his heroism.

"What’s happening?" Cordelia asked calmly.

[Calculation in progress.] came the reply from the text in the sky.

With that text, time began to pass, and seconds turned into minutes. After nearly a hundred thousand memories and fifteen minutes, the calculation must have been complete, as all the memories vanished.

Then the numbers appeared:

[998,674,311,298]

Everyone who saw this enormous number fell completely silent. There was nothing to say. The dungeon must have made a mistake because there was no other explanation. Such a population had never existed in world history, even if every living creature on Earth was included. That was simply, and by any literal means, impossible.

The largest population in the world had existed during the great war that ended two million years ago and marked the beginning of Cordelia’s era, known as the Age of the Sages.

Even that population was nearly 100 billion, and after the war, it had managed to decrease to less than half of that.

In the end, it was normal for so many races and individuals to live in such a vast world.

This made the number of people Atlas had saved seem meaningless. It was a number that could only be described as IMPOSSIBLE.

"Almost a trillion?" Cassandra had suddenly asked, staring at the unconscious Atlas in her lap and continuing to ponder how this could be possible, just like the gods, goddesses, and other Sages watching them.

"Dungeon... Did you make a mistake?" Cordelia had suddenly asked.

[There is no mistake. Everything has been calculated perfectly.] A message appeared in the sky. The dungeon was stating that it had made no mistake.

"Impossible. There have never been that many people in the world at this point. I’m very old, I know that" Cordelia objected.

[Sage of Eternity Cordelia. Exact age is "2,978,364". You are old, but compared to me, who has existed since the beginning of existence, you are like a baby. If you think that Atlas only saved the living beings that exist in the world, then you are nothing but a fool, young lady.]

These words seemed to strike everyone like lightning.

"What do you mean, only those that exist in the world?" Cordelia asked without waiting even a second.

[Three realms, divided into fakes and created for the concepts of good and evil. A fake heaven, where angels reside. A fake hell, where demons reside. And the world itself, where everyone else resides. And the amount of angels and demons, it would be impossible to count all of them. Maybe one or two trillion, maybe hundreds of them.]

[Not every demon is evil, Cordelia, just as not every angel is good. In this case, it can be understood that not every angel betrayed Michael and not every demon betrayed Lucifer. Many of them are fulfilling the tasks given to them.]

[This is what happened when the war began. Atlas had attracted so much attention over time that even the piece of soul he had given to Beelzebub could have made that great devil the new master of that false hell. This means that the attention he attracted saved the devils and angels who were trying to save Lucifer or Michael.]

"So you’re saying..." Cordelia said suddenly. After reading all those writings, everyone paused and tried to make sense of what had happened.

[Billions of demons and angels were saved thanks to Atlas. When Michael died, you escaped from the cage where you were imprisoned thanks to killing most of the great angels. Unfortunately, it was too late for everything. Atlas’s death and Chronos sending him back in time reset everything.]
