Angel Monarch-Chapter 433: The War for Antarctica (3)
Chapter 433: The War for Antarctica (3)
The soldiers watched from the ground as the massive silhouettes moved across the sky.
Around Tolearth, the rain became heavier and the lightning much more frequent. As if even the weather wanted to escape the fight between giants.
In reality, Sarah controlled the weather, gradually increasing the wind. The clouds kilometers away concentrated above Tolearth, moving in a circular pattern.
Water shot out like bullets, lightning whipped the ground, frying the grass below. The wind danced in a circle, increasing in speed and power. Above the battlefield, a tornado began forming.
Below the storm, the two armies clashed in shouts of anger and frustration. Every eye filled with fear marched to their death while their bodies fought for their survival.
The tornado decimated the enemy army, killing thousands with every passing moment. The Asians tried to retaliate, but before any Transcended could’ve reached Sarah, a storm of flame and hatred intercepted them.
Leslie’s black eyes burned with righteous fury. His burning halberd evaporated the rain and boiled away the blood of his enemies.
The dagger-like tail had pieces of flesh clung onto its dark surface. His empty hand burned with crimson flames, which he used to shoot anyone farther away.
Back on the wall below, David coordinated everyone to perfection. They lost their electronic communications, but using more analog methods, he continued leading the defensive forces.
He thought about using his ability to create a Time Loop, but then he couldn’t command the defenders anymore. He also couldn’t resurrect many, and choosing who to save wasn’t an easy decision.
His ability was amazing in smaller operations, but using it on a battlefield wasn’t worth much.
David stared down from the wall, his eyes moving across the piling dead below. He glanced above, to see more dead people falling towards the ground, like angels with their wings cut.
However, his eyes continued gazing into the darkness, until the lightning revealed the silhouettes of the two massive Stellars.
...
When Cass and Hu moved away from each other, they both rapidly changed forms.
Cass used her illusion powers to construct a giant image of herself, but instead of bat-like wings, she took Sera’s own angelic wings as inspiration.
Her weapon also changed from a greatsword into a regular longsword. She felt that closing the distance would prove the most important part of this upcoming battle.
Hu flew higher into the sky, and with a roar, his body began expanding. Many lightning struck his new white scales at once, electrifying him.
His humanoid appearance fully disappeared, and instead a long, wingless, enormous flying beast appeared. Two piercing blue eyes, dancing with electricity, stared down at Cass’s illusion.
He roared again, the sound reminiscent of thunder. The clouds cleared between the two Stellars, and they finally gazed upon each other’s new appearance.
The old man turned into a few kilometer long eastern dragon with perfect white scales and four arms along his length. He caught one lightning in each arm, summoning four swords in total.
Cass’s transformed body was much smaller in comparison, but still gigantic. Only a few hundred meters in height and wingspan, she stood ready to take on the Asian beast!
Her wings beat the air once, dispersing the surrounding clouds. Lightning arced around her as she closed in the distance towards the dragon.
With two enormous swords, Hu attacked. His weapons sending brightening the night sky and echoing with thunder.
He aimed perfectly at the approaching crystal illusion. However, just when his attack would’ve connected, the illusion disappeared.
His swords passed through empty clouds, sending lightning towards the ground kilometers below. Large craters appeared wherever they struck.
Cass’s laughter cut through the constant sound of thunder. It echoed around the sky, not revealing her actual position.
Hu’s electric eyes scanned the skies around, but he couldn’t find the Succubus anywhere... Not until it was too late!
The large, white dragon’s head snapped around just in time to see the crystal angel’s sword cut through his flesh.
She wasn’t aiming for the dragon’s body though, instead her longsword separated an arm.
A loud roar shook reality as the giant dragon’s arm fell towards the ground. The rain mixed with blood, filling up the widening craters on the ground.
Hundreds of lightning strike appeared all around the dragon, each aimed right at the crystal angel. However, before they could’ve hit, the illusion multiplied and spread around.
Dozens of crystal angels, each an exact copy of the real one, flew above the dragon. The lightnings struck all of them, instantly turning them into fragments.
They gently fell with the rain, but they didn’t turn into specks of light. The crystalline pieces landed on the dragon’s back and turned liquid.
The mesmerizing glass-like liquid spread across the dragon’s enormous body, enveloping and restricting him entirely.
Hu flew through the clouds, turning and bending, but unable to get rid of Cass’s crystal. He roared in annoyance, then summoned more lightning, each hitting its lengthy body. freeweɓnovel~cѳm
The crystal pieces broke off and began converging below the eastern dragon. However, following another roar, Hu’s three remaining swords struck the large, forming crystal.
More lightning hit his body, gradually destroying all the glass-like liquid. Electricity danced across his body, empowering the swords in his arms, while also creating a layer of defense across his scales.
The gigantic crystal broke into smaller fragments, which Hu went ahead and cut further down. Eventually, they began turning into specks of light, causing him to stop attacking.
The enormous dragon took a deep breath, but suddenly his sense of danger spiked. While glancing around, his electric eyes focused on a quickly approaching glimmer in the sky.
The glimmer multiplied quickly until tens of thousand moved right towards the floating beast.
Hu sent lightning arcing across the clouds, trying to destroy the approaching objects, but no matter how much he tried, the glimmers never stopped approaching.
Like meteors burning up in the atmosphere, the giant, crystalline spears devoured the cloud of lightning and rained down on the powerful dragon.
He roared as the first few spears struck his massive body. Slowly, his enormous body turned towards the approaching weapons, and with his three remaining swords, he began cutting down the crystalline illusions.
However, through the rain of spears, an angel danced. Every crystal weapon somehow always missed her, yet also provided cover against the three lightning swords.
She effortlessly closed in the distance, while the dragon stayed distracted by the constant bombardment. More spears hit his body, causing white scales to fall with the blood and rain.
Between the crystal spears, Cass moved like a dancer. The lightning illuminated her path, while the crystals broke the white light, painting reality into the colors of the rainbow.
Her angelic wings beat once more, sending her flying towards the enormous beast. The longsword in her hand glinted as a few desperate lightning strikes arced towards her.
They punched through her wings, traveling towards her body. The crystalline broke under the immense pressure, yet her momentum didn’t slow and her precision stayed true.
With a light chuckle, her longsword passed through another arm’s flesh, sending the gigantic arm next to the first. A moment after the dragon’s arm fell, the crystal angel broke to pieces.
Another painful roar shook the world with enough force to destroy the illusory crystal spears. The thunder echoed loudly, while lightning illuminated reality.
The bloody rain flooded the kilometer long craters below. Two broken, enormous arms laid in the puddles of blood and gore, forever motionless and dead!
More lightnings struck the dragon’s body until an ethereal glow appeared all across its massive body. The swords also changed, elongating in the opposite direction, forming a pair of gigantic electric twinblades.
The dragon’s body coiled around itself, like a snake prepared to pounce. His electric eyes stared towards the angry storm surrounding him, scanning for the Succubus.
All the thunder and lightning stopped momentarily, as if the world prepared itself for something truly amazing.
Hu stared ahead, just when a faraway lightning illuminated the silhouette of some enormous winged beast approaching with great speed.
The beast’s loud roar soon shook the skies. Its massive wings split the clouds, while its pointed head moved straight towards the eastern dragon.
After summoning more lightning, everything became more illuminated, and Hu finally recognized the approaching beast... An enormous crystalline western dragon with a pair of wings and four legs!
It flew faster than even the lightnings moved. Each wingbeat sounded like thunder, and soon it roared once more, much more loudly, sending shivers down Hu’s spine.
The massive western dragon dwarfed his enormous form. It could swallow his coiled form wholly, which meant the crystal dragon was dozens of kilometer long!
Hu considered running away, but suddenly realization hit him, just as the western dragon’s head appeared. All throughout their fight, the Succubus never outright attacked. She always used some distraction tactic beforehand!
The eastern dragon sprang forward, each twinblade moving in perfect sync. It hit the crystal dragon’s massive head simultaneously, destroying the illusion.
However, Hu’s eyes stayed sharp, focusing on the surroundings. As the illusion broke apart, he saw a glimpse of movement within. A crystal angel attacking from its depths!
With an angry but delighted roar, Hu turned his arms, so the other side of the twinblades hit the crystalline angel.
The muscles flexed below the white scales, lightnings danced along the skies above, electricity connected formed a shield around the enormous body.
The crystal angel broke into fragments, but when Hu tried bringing his arms back, he noticed something strange... A line of blood appearing right at his wrist!
His electric eyes snapped to eye-level, where another crystal angel stood. Each hand carried two gigantic longswords covered in blood.
The pain hit Hu, just as his last two arms fell towards the ground. He roared again, while the Succubus chuckled, preparing to end the dragon’s suffering!
