An Extra's POV: My Three Fiancees Hate Me-Chapter 189: Oliver Von Grave
River’s grandfather stood at the forefront of the battle, a sword in his hand as he watched the demonized. The knights stood behind him, their hearts beating fast because the number of demonized they saw coming toward them was massive. They didn’t know if they would survive this.
"You have all lived your lives, fully, happily. You saw the blue skies and the starry nights, you danced under the moonlight and worked under the daylight.
All of you have enjoyed the peace that your fathers and brothers fought for on the front line, and some of you even fought for that peace yourselves.
Right now, this peace is threatened, your home is threatened. The skies you enjoyed will be painted red with blood if you do not make your stand here today.
You are the wall that stands between the demonized and your home, so raise your swords, ride forward, and don’t stop until the grim reaper himself pulls you down into hell. Do I make myself CLEAR?" he roared, his voice echoing for all the guards and knights to hear.
He expected their cheers to be loud, but when he heard it, he was shocked. The sheer force of their cheers made him look back, and then he saw that not only were the knights there, but also the adventurers of the town.
A smile formed on his face. He looked forward and raised his sword, riding out of the gate valiantly.
He was Oliver Von Grave, one of the greatest knights that walked the kingdom, one of the greatest battle mages to come from the Grave family. A seventh-circle battle mage, a prodigy of his time.
His gaze locked on the first demonized. It lunged at him. Oliver swung his blade was without mana or sword aura; it was purely strength.
The sword cut through the head of the demonized in one clean motion. He continued with that momentum and slashed twice, killing two more demonized.
Everyone behind him saw how he took down the demonized, their morale rose higher. They clashed with the demonized, and the battle began.
A demonized leaped toward Oliver. He stunned it before it could reach him, but another came for his horse, and with one powerful bite to the leg, it snapped the horse’s leg.
It neighed in pain and collapsed to the ground. Oliver leaped off the back of the horse before it fell. He spun around in the air and threw his sword like a spear, it penetrated the head of the demonized that bit the horse.
He landed on the ground and pulled out the sword. He walked forward with confident steps. One demon lunged at him and he slashed, cutting it in two. Blood sprayed on his face and armor.
The demonized around him immediately recognized him as the bigger threat, so they came for him in troops. Oliver clicked his tongue.
"Come all you want. I’ll cut you down like in the past," he said and activated the first circle of his spirit zone. His mana raged, bursting out of him like a soda that had been sealed and shaken.
Even the knights and adventurers were shocked when they felt the mana. It was destructive and powerful, like a raging tsunami.
"It’s been a while since I let loose," Oliver said. His sword crackled with lightning. He locked on the closest demonized and attacked.
Boom.
One swing and the sword crackled with lightning. Demonized were sent flying in all directions, their bodies burnt to a crisp with only one attack.
Oliver smirked. He lunged forward, cutting down more and more, only with his first circle unlocked.
He was fast, explosive, moving like the grim reaper along the battlefield. His men saw how much he fought, and their will to keep going rose. They saw their brothers fall, but rather than hide and run in fear, they pushed.
The sacrifices of their brothers were not to be wasted. Ribest couldn’t fall, it was their home, and they would give it their all.
Oliver cut through two more demonized, his hands still crackling with lightning. Out of nowhere, two demonized rushed toward him. He could already tell that these two were far stronger than the rest.
One leaped at him. He blocked the attack. He skidded back, muscles tensed as he held against the demonized. The second came from the side, attacking with a slash.
He parried the claws and sent a kick into its chest, throwing it back. The pattern continued, both demonized attacking viciously. Oliver gritted his teeth.
"Seems I have to go higher," he muttered. His mana surged even higher. He pushed his power right to the third circle.
In an instant, lightning enveloped his entire body. He vanished.
He appeared in the air above and stabbed down, a bolt of lightning in the form of a sword struck down.
Boom.
The bolt slammed into one demonized and exploded, bolts of lightning ripping through both demonized and smaller demonized around. A massive black spot formed on the ground, the rocks and sand charred black.
He landed on the ground. He looked at the demonized, they were scared of coming close to him. A smirk formed on Oliver’s face.
"If you don’t come, I’ll come," he said and vanished again. Whenever he appeared, the demonized around him were split into bits and charred down to their bones.
Oliver looked over at the forest after dealing with the demonized. More were coming, rushing toward them, they looked stronger than the last wave as well.
He looked back to his men and the adventurers. They had already lost a lot of people. No one woke up today and thought they were going to die. None of these men and women thought something like this would happen to them.
Their ends were anticlimactic, died at the hands of a demonized. But there was no stopping now.
"The enemy is still in front. Do not waste the sacrifices of your brothers-in-arms. For the sake of their swords that they raised today in defiance of the demonized, we will all keep FIGHTING!" Oliver roared.
A young adventurers no more than twenty stood in the lines, his hands trembling as he stood there. He didn’t know how he had survived this far.
He was here because his mother was sick in this town and his sister was there taking care of her. If they needed to evacuate, they wouldn’t be able to save his mother, so instead he came here, because he wanted to stop the enemy amd keep them safe, even if he died here.
So as the words of Oliver reached his ears, it gave him hope that his stance here today was for good, it was worth it.
