Chapter 453: Chapter 230: Settlement

Driving the van away from the downtown area of Palm Valley, listening to the sound of police sirens fading into the distance, Allen Zhang also understood that the officers had given up the pursuit.

But in order to completely eliminate the threat, they followed the route planned by Blitz and took a left turn at a crossroads into a small road, driving diligently for another twenty kilometers.

Pedal to the metal, it took less than fifteen minutes to tirelessly reach a small town in the countryside.

Old Jack had already communicated and arranged everything with Mrs. Abby; a few people drove the two vans from the rural roads to the main road, heading toward the livestock breeding base.

From afar, they could see the extensive private ranch, fenced with barbed wire and warning signs, and a few people stood at the entrance for reception.

The ranch’s butler, upon seeing the vans approaching, stopped outside the ranch and came forward to ask, "May I know if this is Mr. Jack?"

"Correct, it’s us."

Old Jack took off his headgear, glanced at the aged butler, and led the group out of the vehicle.

They unloaded the bags of money and equipment from the van, casually tossed the keys to the other party, "Melissa, right? We need you to take care of these two vehicles, whether it’s dismantling them for money or burning them. Do whatever you wish, just don’t leave any traces."

"I will, Mr. Jack," the butler said, smiling as he took the car keys.

When Allen Zhang and the others also got down and unloaded the money bags and equipment, he motioned to the ranch staff to drive the vans away for processing.

"Can these guys be trusted?" Bailey asked, skeptical.

"Trust me, there’s no one more reliable and capable than the lads here at the ranch. Please rest assured, they’ve been working here for seven or eight years without any mistakes."

The butler Melissa smiled and then invited them into the ranch, "Mrs. Abby has already instructed me on what to do, the private jet is ready, and you can use it anytime."

The group followed him to the private airstrip and runway built on the ranch and, sure enough, saw a Cirrus SR22 business aircraft.

Old Jack took the airplane keys from Butler Melissa, directly boarded the plane, and loaded all the money bags inside.

Allen Zhang also got in and sat down in the rear seat, with the pilot, of course, being the aptly skilled flyer, Bailey.

Pulling out his phone, he saw a message from the employer.

Tycoon: You’ve done well. Next, I need to handle media relations and public relations matters and deal with the Securities and Exchange Commission’s investigation. I might be busy for a while. If you have time later, come visit my home. Pleasure doing business!

Allen Zhang saw that he made no mention of the blown-open vault door and the victimized vault manager but replied anyway: Pleasure doing business.

He opened another message from Shadi.

Shadi: You guys are really quick with your work. I’ve already seen the news about the robbery at Wells Fargo Bank! Although I really want to find you now, unfortunately, my dad has grounded me. He won’t let me run around outside, saying it might not be safe lately, and he also told me to pause the Biker Gang’s business, which is so annoying.

Allen Zhang: Your dad is doing this for your best interests. After all, with the Wells Fargo Bank incident, he and other bank executives will be subject to an SEC investigation, including their family members and relatives. Don’t you have a brother in prison?

Shadi: That guy getting himself in prison was purely his fault. Will you come back to Palm Valley? I can sneak out tonight and meet you at a motel or hotel!

Allen Zhang: I do indeed need to return to Palm Valley, but only to retrieve my car, definitely not to court trouble. Perhaps we can talk again after the dust settles in a couple of days?

Shadi: ok! :)

General Sect Leader couldn’t help but sigh; this girl was truly easy to please.

Bailey got familiar with the private jet, adjusted it for takeoff, and reminded, "Buckle your seatbelts; we’re about to start!"

Allen Zhang casually fastened his seatbelt, and as the private aircraft’s engines started up, the cabin trembled slightly. Shortly after, it charged down the runway, and with enough thrust, pulled up the control yoke to take off, raising the nose, retracting the landing gear, and reaching the higher altitude.

Soon it stabilized. Allen Zhang looked through the window at the scenery below.

Blitz checked the situation on his computer and said, "The officers are still expanding the search area, have blocked off the Wells Fargo Bank downtown, and are controlling traffic and highways, but for now, it’s limited to the area near Palm Valley. If we want to go back, the only option is by private plane."

It was Old Jack’s foresight that came through, probably just a ruffian’s psychology.

"The lazy cops would never expect us to return; besides, their bosses have taken bribes, they’re all in on it; no need to worry at all."

Old Jack chuckled, "Now all we have to do is figure out how to handle this big sum of money! Then, head to the villa for a glass of champagne, a hot bath, and a good rest!"

Allen Zhang opened the bundle, looked at the green US Dollars inside, and after careful thought, tossed one of the bags to Old Jack in the front seat, praising, "You performed consistently today; here’s your 30% share!"

Old Jack received the hefty money bag with a beaming smile, whistled, "This is more than my shares from the last two times combined, a full 1.5 million! Wow, I really have to think about how I’m going to spend this money."
