Chapter 450: Chapter 229 Curtain Call
Bailey, who was in the bank lobby, heard the gunfire and immediately dropped all pretense.
Blitz said over the earpiece: "Let’s get moving!!"
Bailey stood up, walked to the bank’s main entry, and pulled out a chain to lock the door from the inside. Turning around, he shed his thick overcoat.
Underneath, he revealed a black bag slung across, a tier-three bullet-proof vest, and rows of hand grenades, smoke bombs, gas bombs, and clay explosives.
He took a Remington shotgun out of his bag, chambered a couple of shells with two ka-chaks, and aimed at the ceiling, firing two loud blasts!
Hearing the successive gunshots, plaster fell from the ceiling, and everyone was startled. They turned to see a masked ruffian standing in the lobby, brandishing a long gun.
Bailey yelled at everyone present: "Hey! Ladies and gentlemen! I’m announcing that this bank is closing early! Please cooperate with each other, line up against the wall, no crowding! No shouting! No stampeding! Get down on the ground, hands on your head! Show me your hands!!"
"Ah!!! Sarsang!!" A Black lady let out a scream like a groundhog.
"Shut up! I said no shouting!" Bailey scolded, firing two shots into the floor, which silenced the Black lady immediately.
"No! Sir! Please don’t hurt me!!" A white woman hurriedly took her child to the corner, sensibly squatting down.
"Damn it! Where are the bank’s security personnel? Why wasn’t this ruffian checked when he came in?"
One customer broke down emotionally, scurrying to hide in the corner, indignantly blaming the bank’s staff for their negligence.
"I am sorry, sir, the security staff are off today; they won’t be here until the afternoon. We didn’t anticipate this unforeseen circumstance." The staff member, frightened, quickly closed the glass window, triggered the panic button, and dialed the bank executives on their cell phones.
Bailey, seeing this, was unfazed, smiling as he listened to the conversations coming through his earpiece.
Meanwhile, at the Palms Valley offshore hotel party where bank executives and shareholders were laughing and chatting with the local Police Chief, their phones suddenly rang. Stepping aside, they answered, listening to their employees’ reports and acknowledged the situation.
"It seems we’re in for a busy day! Can you believe it, we’re in the 21st century and there are still ruffians robbing banks? And it’s your Wells Fargo Bank too!" The Palms Valley Police Chief expressed disbelief with exaggerated gestures.
"These ruffians are detestable! Sir, you must bring them to justice!!" The executives of Wells Fargo Bank also showed shock and anger.
"I will! I’m heading there to deal with this right now! Hey! Bieber, quickly notify Bolente at the police station to send officers!" The Police Chief immediately shouted to someone nearby, starting to gather personnel.
Police Chief Bieber hurried over, pausing upon hearing the order.
Looking at the calm bank shareholders and executives, he candidly stated, "Sir, apart from the regular patrols, our senior police officers and the Police Chief are nearly all here, and the police cars and helicopters were sent for maintenance as per your request. Bolente even drove you here."
"Oh! Shit! I almost forgot! This is terrible!!" The Police Chief held his head in disbelief, his acting so convincing he could’ve collected an academy award in Hollywood. freēnovelkiss.com
Immediately after, the Police Chief issued commands half in rage and half with authority, "Then what are you waiting for? Head back to the station and get the officers out!"
"Yes! Sir!" Police Chief Bieber saluted solemnly and quickly turned to summon the others.
But the offshore hotel was too vast; just running up and down, making calls and rounding up people, took a full three minutes!
When he pushed open the door of room 305, he even found a respected Police Chief having some intimate time with a hotel waitress.
"Shit! Stop playing around! There’s an emergency! Get back to the station and get ready to leave!" Bieber said sternly, and his colleague quickly dressed.
Before leaving, Police Chief Bieber also took a moment to appreciate the waitress’s figure, saying warmly, "Hey, miss, can I have your contact info?"
"Of course, officer," the waitress replied with relief and a smile.
Nearby, Abby Ri of the rich was merrily chat with business tycoons and their daughters, watching the riveting show, he stepped aside to relay the news.
Well then, eight out of ten people here are traitors. The other two are either busy lining their own pockets or on their way to do so. Just how rotten can this get!
Over at the Wells Fargo Bank, the plan was still unfolding as scheduled.
Allen Zhang, holding the Vault manager who’d been beaten black and blue, with a pitiful and silent face full of unspoken rage, came into the lobby and saw those ’NPCs’ trembling in the corner, their act was just like in an online rehearsal! Very cooperative.
He complimented, "Well done, you’ve got the situation perfectly under control!"
Hearing this, Bailey gave a thumbs up.
"Hand over the Vault code, and I might consider sparing your life." Old Jack patted the Vault manager on the shoulder and beckoned to the staff behind the glass counters, "Hey! Do you see how pitiful he looks? If you don’t cooperate, I assure you, your fate will be far worse!!"
Filled with sorrow and anger, the Vault manager regretted not demanding more bonus and dividends from the shareholders knowing how ruthless they were.
