Chapter 634: Chapter 144: The Reason Kane Fan Converted to Buddhism_4

"What do you want to say?" Diliya pressed against Tommy’s leg muscles with her foot, smiling with her eyes closed.

Tommy watched the TV screen, "I want to say that just a bunch of amateurs showing off muscles and tits in a movie can make more than five million. How stingy Stephen must be with the audience! If Diane Linen showed a bit, she would definitely make more than five million, right? Don’t show off any damn artistic integrity to America’s moviegoers; if you want their money, do it like this great ’The Adventures of the Hanging Airship’ and display blond babes’ tits."

Stephen’s Hollywood career was still ongoing, and although the movies were as terrible as ever, the ratings for ’Soar to Success’ were pretty good. This was thanks to Tommy, Jason, and Bert, his Stanford alumni, who contributed a lot of shameless humor on the show. The audience didn’t take them seriously as entrepreneurs; it was more like watching a sitcom. The Turner Television Network was even preparing to discuss with Stephen’s company the possibility of producing a second season. The current challenge was finding three Stanford-educated talents who were as shameless and proactive as the ones in the first season.

Stanford University was reportedly preparing to send a formal letter of dissatisfaction to Stephen’s company. They produced a lot of high-quality talents for society each year, and yet Stephen, as an alumnus, intentionally maligned Stanford graduates. The university believed that Tommy, Jason, and Bert only acted like that under the requirements of the show and if they faced any trouble after the airing, the Stanford Law School was willing to provide legal assistance.

Close to being blacklisted by Stanford University, Stephen was still smug. He had even excitedly called Tommy before to tell him his company had made a profit thanks to ’Soar to Success’, claiming it proved he was naturally cut out to be a film producer.

Tommy was too lazy to remind the idiot that it was because he had never planned on paying the three leads their fees, which was why it seemed like there was a slight surplus on the books.

"Sophia called me, saying you were planning to have me chat with the two First Ladies at Wellesley College. I rushed over for that reason, otherwise, I’d be having a few whiskeys and lying down to sleep by now."

Tommy picked up a document bag from the coffee table and handed it to Diliya, "The information is inside. It’s okay to take a look after you’ve rested; it’s not much, just over a hundred pages."

He then moved Diliya’s legs off his own and stood up, ready to leave. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

Seeing Tommy preparing to leave, Diliya asked, "Where are you going?"

"I’m going to Los Angeles to attend the premiere of Stephen’s crappy movie as the character’s prototype, hypocritically praise how great it is, and then return to Stanford University to stay for a while. I probably won’t show up before the launch of AmigaOS, since I have a lot of work to do, like maybe treat my classmates to takeout pizza or play games with the professors? I need to ensure they feel respected enough to work well for me."

"I said I’m really tired," Diliya emphasized.

Tommy frowned with difficulty, "I didn’t disturb you, madam. I was just leaving."

"I think you might want to take a shower," Diliya winked at him.

Tommy replied with some dissatisfaction, "Hey, Ms. Case, you said you weren’t in the mood for exercise over the phone, which is why I confidently came to see you."

"When I said I wasn’t in the mood for exercise, I meant that you do all the work in bed while I stay as still as possible," Diliya clarified. "The doctor said my menopause is coming, and I need comfort."

"I now understand why your assistant Mr. Kane Fan, at the age of thirty, fucking converted to Buddhism."
