America 1982-Chapter 371 - 36: Change a Dream_5
"That experience was so important to my life, if I hadn’t met you guys, I probably wouldn’t be as cheerful as I am now, so, I will take it very seriously, recreating our story on the silver screen. Those experiences feel like they just happened yesterday, I remember every little thing, I..."
Before he could continue rambling on, declaring his determination, Tommy suddenly pulled out a document and interrupted him, "The information here shows an actress who wants to audition for the shrewish role of Zoey. Can we get in contact with her?"
"Of course, there should be a contact number, what’s up, did she catch your eye?" Stephen took a look at the documentation along with the artistic and candid photos, "Wow, she has black hair, you’ve changed your taste?"
"The information shows that this girl named Sandra Brock is from Arlington, Virginia. She settled in Germany with her parents, is fluent in German, her mother is a famous German opera artist..." Tommy’s eyes lit up with excitement, rivaling the fervor Stephen showed when talking about his filmmaking dreams, as he said.
"Do you always do such complex background checks before sleeping with an actress? What’s the matter? To make sure you don’t accidentally sleep with a Black woman?" Stephen couldn’t understand why Tommy was suddenly so focused on the family background of an actress.
Tommy snapped back to reality and said with a smile to Stephen, "God looks after me. Actually, I came here wanting to get you to invest a lump sum of money into the television business, but now, Stephen, your dream has moved me, and I’m willing to suffocate for your dream. How much did you say this movie is going to cost again?"
"Thirty million? Or more? It depends on how strongly this woman tempts you," Stephen noticed Tommy’s excitement and said somewhat mockingly.
Tommy nodded, "This woman indeed has a very strong allure over me."
"I don’t think she’s as beautiful as Ottelia, Tommy," Stephen disagreed with Tommy’s claim that this woman was very tempting.
Tommy didn’t deny it, "Of course, there are few women prettier than Ottelia. I don’t intend to marry her, just want an opportunity to meet her father."
"Her father? So, are you looking to sleep with her or her father?" Stephen asked Tommy with a strange look.
Tommy took a swig of beer, "If I remember correctly, an issue of SSD magazine listed a name, SSD West Point Chapter’s well-known alumnus, Mr. Wilson Block, from Arlington, Virginia, graduated from West Point Military Academy, served in the United States Army in West Germany, and during that time married a German opera singer, had two daughters. Judging from this girl’s resume, I suspect that this Sandra girl is one of Mr. Wilson Block’s daughters."
"If she’s his daughter, then what’s the feature that attracts you?" Stephen asked with a scoff, "Can’t you just invest purely for the sake of my dream for once? Aren’t dreams more enchanting than banknotes?"
Tommy looked at Stephen, "Wilson Block, he used to serve as the Deputy Chief of Staff at the United States Army Materiel Command. After retiring, he became a logistics contractor for the same command, handling all the mail and courier services for all US Army military bases abroad."
"You want to get to know him, planning to dabble in that kind of military contracting business?" Stephen sighed in despair.
Tommy smiled and said to Stephen, "Maybe in the future, but for now, if I can get to know him and reach some sort of cooperation, I think when the news network is expanding its international news operations, it could save us a lot of trouble. For example, if Germany refuses to let us do exclusive reporting, we can have a chat with the American soldiers helping to protect Germany about what American-style mutual aid means."
"Can we get back to dreaming? Don’t always put business first every time we talk," Stephen flipped him off in disgust.
Tommy nodded, "OK, OK, back to your burning dream, as the projected biggest flop producer, director, screenwriter of the year, sir, what is your dream?"
"F*ck you, Tommy," Stephen cursed after hearing Tommy’s teasing.
Tommy then seriously advised, "I’m sorry, I can’t help with that dream, Stephen, because I’m not gay like you. Let’s find another dream."
