"Is this considered a threat?"

Brand took a deep breath.

This Empire's Female War God was historically known for her integrity and righteousness, and she had once had a teacher-student relationship with the Valkyrie Frey. But to think that someday she would actually draw her sword to threaten two juniors; Brand looked at Veronica's somewhat indifferent face and understood that he had underestimated the importance of the little princess of the Flower Leaf Domain in this Empire's Female War God's heart.

"Lady Veronica, as you can see, the magic tide emerging in the forest is ravaging this area, and I've been tasked by the Druids to head to the center of the Trade Wind Ring to re-establish order, to prevent the Green Tower from being destroyed by the wolves." He corrected himself and replied, "As a descendant of the King of Flames, you should well know the consequences if the magic tide is left unchecked—"

"And what has that to do with me? I'm a noble of the Empire, not a saint saving the world?" Veronica raised an eyebrow, full of the authority a commander ought to have.

"But to abandon the saving of others for the sake of one person is not your wish, is it?" Brand looked at Veronica and replied, "Maybe Miss Faina is the only heir of Duke Huaye, but here, her life is no more noble than others."

"You're right," Veronica sighed but shook her head, "but it makes no sense, you should know my status."

She suddenly grabbed Qian's shoulder, causing the girl to grimace in pain. "Then, I'm sorry, if you're unwilling, I will have to take your companion, to make you come along."

"I'm afraid I can't obey—!" Brand answered in a deep voice.

Having already been troubled by the inexplicable meddling of Gray Sword Saint Mephisto, Brand was most unhappy, and Veronica's unreasonable attitude at this moment simply ignited Brand's anger.

Since negotiations had broken down, there was no longer any need for restraint. Lowering his head, Brand drew the Earth Sword in a dark flash towards Veronica—even in front of someone much stronger than him like Veronica, only by making the first move could he gain the upper hand.

But Brand was decisive, Veronica was not surprised. After the battle in the Centaur market, she knew that this young man's temperament would never easily yield. As soon as Brand drew his sword, it was within her expectations.

"Overestimating oneself." The Empire's Female War God gave a slight snort, casually striking at the Earth Sword in Brand's hand.

To Brand, this casual sword might as well have been a sword curtain. Without much thought, he directly fell back, supporting himself on the ground with one hand and sliding close to the ground towards Veronica.

His sword switched to slashing at Veronica's feet, not to maim this Empire's Female War God with a single strike, but to force the other to retreat, to make Veronica let go of Qian.

Veronica was slightly surprised by Brand's reaction; her previous strike had used the heritage of the Green Sword Saint's generations—the Sword Curtain, but unexpectedly, it was anticipated by Brand.

Just how high is this little fellow's talent in swordsmanship?

There was no time to change moves, Veronica had to release Qian and retreat, but even as she retreated, she made Brand pay the price, as she swung a Sword Qi towards Brand's sword blade.

'Clang' came a crisp sound, almost tangible as the two swords clashed.

At that moment, Brand felt as though the force opposing him wasn't a stream of Sword Qi but a dragon. The power emanating from Veronica's Sword Qi was so overwhelming it was nearly unstoppable. Before he could react, his body was swept away like a cannonball.

Brand crashed onto the sandy ground with a 'thud', feeling momentarily dizzy. However, he was not surprised by this outcome and immediately got up, just in time to see Qian rolling away from Veronica's grasp.

Unfortunately, the red-haired girl's response was quick, but still too slow compared to Veronica's speed. The Female Sword Saint retreated, then immediately stretched out to try and grab the fleeing Qian.

Having only taken a step forward, she was already behind Qian. Qian gritted her teeth and drew a dagger, attempting to resist, but Veronica didn't even glance as she knocked the dagger out of Qian's hand and reached out again to grasp Qian's shoulder.

Brand naturally couldn't let her have her way.

Without thinking, the young lord hurled the Earth Sword in his hand at Veronica with force. The Earth Sword traced a straight line mid-air, lifting a row of rock spurs from the ground, shooting straight at Veronica.

Veronica frowned, forced to retreat from the blade of the Earth Sword, allowing the sharp sword to graze past her with a string of rock spurs.

Yet, as she paused, she hadn't anticipated Brand would use a White Crow Sword Energy to create a whirlwind, pulling the Earth Sword back midair with it.

The Earth Sword swirled in the air and once again thrust towards Veronica—

The Empire's Female War God was finally taken aback, completely unprepared for the sword thrown to attack once more—especially since although the sword had lost its aim, the rock spurs it lifted were not lacking in attack power.

Veronica had no choice but to stop and counter the Earth Sword with a backhand blow, while Brand controlled the airflow of the White Crow Swordsmanship to regain control of the Earth Sword, guiding the Holy Sword in an arc in midair back into his hand.

When Brand caught the sword, he couldn't help but exhale deeply. That two-hit combo of throwing the sword was almost a divine stroke, even he hadn't thought it would succeed.

If there were a word to describe his feeling at that moment, it would be simply too cool.

So much that he froze for a moment while holding the sword.

"Little guy, that's not White Crow Swordsmanship, that technique is almost close to the original!" Otarais's voice immediately resonated in his heart, she couldn't help but sigh, "If I didn't know you never learned the Wind Spirit's Secret Sword Wind Dance, I would doubt your background—"

"However, your talent in swordsmanship is truly incredible, unbelievable."

Brand didn't respond to the Female Knight's words, he merely raised his head to look at Veronica—the Empire's Female War God had been forced to a stop by him, allowing Qian to escape from her grasp, and the red-haired girl was almost by Brand's side.

Even though there hadn't been much distance between them to begin with.

But Brand knew, this was enough—

At this moment, Veronica retracted her sword with a cold face, seeing the relieved expression on the young man's face, her expression changed as she recalled something.

The Empire's Female War God turned her head.

She immediately held her breath, seeing the terrifying fifteen huge heads of the Holy Multi-Headed Dragon already surrounding above them, and at this moment Brand was sent flying and half kneeling in the grass, and around her there was a clearing as Brand's two rounds of sword rock spurs had plowed the ground. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

She was standing in the center of this clearing.

It was obvious who was more conspicuous.

Damn, this damn kid tricked her! Veronica realized this in her heart.
