Chapter 65: Chapter 65 Practicing Fighting

After the poisoning, Klaus not only tightened security at the palace but also replaced all the maids surrounding her. Heidi became Emily’s personal maid. Not only did she work diligently, but she often conversed with Emily. In Emily’s heart, Heidi was not merely her maid; she was her friend.

Emily shared her daily joys and sorrows with Heidi, and Heidi always listened patiently. This comforted Emily, who was alone in the North, and reminded her of Dolly, her dearest friend from the countryside.

Emily and Dolly had grown up together, discussing everything under the sun. When Emily was forcibly taken away by her father’s soldiers, Dolly was beaten by them in an attempt to save her. Oh, poor Dolly, I wonder what has happened to her.

But soon, Emily would return to the South, and she was eager to see Dolly, Mrs. Ball, who had raised her as a child, and her other friends from the country.

The poisoning had taught Emily to grow, and she knew that more challenging questions lay ahead. Moreover, Klaus wouldn’t always be there for her, and she needed to become stronger. So, she quietly asked Marx to be her personal combat instructor, as she didn’t have wolves, so she could only enhance her fighting skills through training.

They agreed to take lessons at a martial arts gym outside the palace, and once her daily duties were done, she would head straight to the training facility.

The men who frequented the gym to practice were almost exclusively male, each shirtless, revealing their toned muscles as they practiced punches in the arena, which echoed with a cacophony of grunts and growls.

Emily changed into her training attire and made her way to one of the rings, but after waiting for some time, she didn’t see Marx.

Had Marx forgotten their agreement?

Just as Emily was pondering this thought, she looked up and saw Klaus standing before her.

The black training suit he wore hugged his frame, emphasizing his muscular build and impeccable physique. The fabric appeared soft, yet it clearly outlined his toned body, showcasing slender yet powerful legs, with the black training pants tightly hugging his thighs and calves.

"Klaus, why are you here?" Emily asked, surprised.

"Why am I here?" Klaus’s lips curved into a smile. "Do you want the one here to be Marx?"

"I..." Emily mentally cursed Marx for probably informing Klaus of her desire to study martial arts, despite her request for him not to do so.

It was clear that she had underestimated Beta’s loyalty to Alpha.

"Marx won’t be coming. I’ll train with you from now on," Klaus said as he entered the ring, noticing Emily’s hesitant expression.

"Do you think I’m not qualified to be your coach?"

"No, I just..." Emily started, but Klaus cut her off.

He turned to the two men training nearby and called out, "Hey, you two, come here. And you guys too."

The men seemed to know Klaus well, for at his command, they immediately halted their training and converged on him. Soon, ten towering figures stood around him.

"What are you planning to do, Klaus?" Emily asked nervously.

"Just watching," Klaus replied calmly, addressing the man in front of him. "Gentlemen, let’s play a game. Anyone who can knock me down will be rewarded with ten thousand dollars."

"Any way?" asked a short-haired man.

"No time limit, no restrictions," Klaus said calmly. "You can even attack me all at once."

"No time limit, no restrictions on attack methods?" the short-haired man confirmed again, his eyes flashing with suspicion.

"Yes," Klaus affirmed. "Come on, let’s not waste everyone’s time."

Slowly, the ten men encircled Klaus, their eyes filled with eagerness for battle and a watchful gaze on him. Emily retreated to the edge of the ring, her eyes glued to every movement within, her heart pounding in her throat.

As the first man lunged at Klaus, the other nine quickly joined in. The air was thick with the scent of adrenaline.

Klaus’s figure darted nimbly through the crowd, his punches and kicks swift and precise, each blow accompanied by a groan of pain from his opponent. He effortlessly countered each attack, using his opponents’ strength against them, every move and technique revealing his fighting prowess and experience.

When a burly man attempted to punch Klaus, Klaus deftly sidestepped, effortlessly dodging the potentially devastating blow. Instantly, he stepped forward and drove his right elbow into the man’s midsection with such force that the other man doubled over, gasping in pain.

Then, harnessing a burst of reverse momentum, Klaus lifted his left foot and delivered a devastating kick to the remaining challenger from behind, striking him square in the chest and sending him flying backward with a thud. Within seconds, both challengers lay defeated.

The fight raged on for nearly half an hour, and as the ten challengers fell one by one, Klaus stood victorious in the center of the arena.

"Hans," Klaus called out to the arena manager, and soon a man in a blue plaid shirt approached him.

"Take them to the infirmary for treatment, and I’ll make sure you’re compensated with $10,000."

"Yes, Alpha," the arena manager replied promptly, summoning several assistants to carry the fallen men to the recovery area.

"So, am I now qualified to be your coach?" Klaus approached Emily with a smug grin.

"Of course, you can," Emily replied with a sheepish smile, finally understanding why he had been able to keep up with her all night without a break.

For he was a relentless beast, never tiring!

Klaus and Emily then embarked on their training, with Klaus first helping Emily refine her stance and ensure her balance. He demonstrated basic boxing combinations, including straight punches, uppercuts, and hooks, and patiently guided Emily to mimic his movements.

Klaus then taught Emily how to maneuver her feet, amplify the force of her attacks, and evade opponents. He lightly attacked her, allowing her to practice blocking and dodging, gradually honing her reflexes and defensive abilities.

By the end of the training session, Emily was spent, her breath coming in ragged gasps. Klaus handed her a bottle of water, which she quickly unscrewed and chugged down.

"How are you feeling?" Klaus inquired, eyeing her.

"Good," she replied, panting. "I have to say, Klaus, you’re an excellent teacher. Despite the exhaustion, my martial arts skills have improved significantly."

"You’re dripping wet," Klaus observed, his gaze lingering on Emily’s sweat-drenched chest. "Go take a shower, love."

"Now?" she asked, surprised.

"Yes."

Before Emily could utter another word, Klaus scooped her up and strode towards the bathroom, unfazed by the stares of others. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

"What are you doing, Klaus?" Emily whispered, embarrassed.

"Taking you to the shower," he replied matter-of-factly.

Klaus pushed open the door to the VIP bathroom and efficiently stripped off Emily’s drenched training gear, following suit with his own clothes.
