Alpha's replacement bride is destined mate-Chapter 49 Hunting
How could Klaus fail to see through Dyson’s ruse? The half-breed had always been against him, and the recognition of his identity by the king had fed his pride. Klaus had long since lost patience with Dyson’s repeated provocations, and had it not been for the presence of the King at the banquet, he would probably have dragged Dyson into a no-man’s land and beaten him.
Still, it was no bad thing to beat him up in this place.
At the sound of the horn the rest of the pack were already transformed into wolves and rushing to the hunting grounds, but Klaus was in no hurry to get out his cigarette, which he lit with a lighter and smoked with a blank face.
Hunting was not the most important thing to him. What was most important to him was how to protect Emily from harm.
She had no wolf, no hunting experience, and she might not even be able to face a canine slave on her own. But Luna’s district was so far away that he had to find a way to take a short cut.
"Aren’t you going to participate in the game?" Dyson walked up to Klaus with a sneer, and he did not change into his wolf form.
"Fuck off." Klaus took a heavy drag on his cigarette. He did not want to waste words with the jerk.
"I was looking forward to competing with you for a hunt, but I didn’t expect you to have no interest in the game I had prepared for you." Dyson feigned discomfort and said, "You’re really sad for me. "
"You really want to compete with me for hunting?" Klaus glanced at Dyson with a cold gaze, "Very well, then I’ll give you time for a cigarette." You go first, and then we will see who is the winner? "
"How dare you humiliate me!" Dyson’s face was hideous, and he said angrily, "Do you think you’re better than me? Klaus, do not be presumptuous. "
"You’re no match for me, Dyson." Klaus’s tone was full of disdain, and he reminded Dyson, "This cigarette is running out, and you’re running out of time."
"I hate the way you look like you’re on top." Dyson gritted his teeth and said, "One day, I will prove to my father that I am his strongest son."
"So what are you waiting for?" Klaus sneered, "If you win, maybe your father will canonize you as crown prince, isn’t that what you want?"
"We’ll see." Dyson, glaring at Klaus, darted into the jungle.
Klaus snuffed out his cigarette and watched Dyson’s figure disappear entirely before he decided to begin his plan.
He closed his eyes and pictured the topography of the hunting grounds in his mind. This hunting-ground was no stranger to him, and from the time he was ten years old the king brought him here every year to hunt, and his skill in hunting was also taught him by the king.
He knows every hillside here, every trap.
The hunting grounds of the Lunas were on the western side of the hunting grounds, but those of the Alphas were on the eastern side. The reason for this distinction is that the eastern hunting area is more rugged and has many hidden poisonous snakes and traps, while the western hunting area is relatively safer.
The only quick way from the eastern hunting grounds to the western ones was through swampy woods, which were not only thick with brambles, but were also infested with fierce crocodiles.
But Klaus simply did not care that much; he had to act now.
So, with this memory in his mind, he went into the woods in the dim moonlight. He jumped on to the trunk of a tree, and then leaped from tree to tree, so that no one else, least of all Dyson, could find his footprints on the ground.
The guy is scheming, and if Dyson finds out that he wants to help Emily, the jerk will bite.
He made his way cautiously, but as fast as he could, toward the swampy woods. Surrounded by dense fog and humidity, the woods seemed an isolated realm. The trees were lofty, and their bark, covered with moss, gave them an old greenish-gray hue. The branches are intricately interwoven like intertwined arms, creating a natural green canopy that makes the sky almost invisible.
From time to time the strange sound of running water could be heard in the depths of the swamp, as if to warn the intruder of impending danger.
Just as Klaus was trying to gather his pace, suddenly an ominous sound of water pierced the stillness of the swamp. A huge crocodile slowly emerged from the mud, its eyes glinting grimly in the faint moonlight, its fangs gleaming eerie in the moonlight. Klaus’s heart sank. He knew that the King of the Swamp was no good at stubble, but to find Emily he would have to cross the crocodile territory.
Battles are inevitable.
The crocodile shot toward Klaus like a bullet, its huge tail creating waves on the water’s surface. Klaus ducked shrewdly to one side, exposing his razor-sharp claws.
He planned to lure the crocodile into a more muddy area and use his bulky body to slow it down. Whenever the Gators tried to get closer, Klaus always deftly dodged it while looking for an opportunity to counter. The crocodile attacked with its heavy body and powerful tail in an attempt to drag Klaus into the water.
Klaus’s eyes were fixed on the alligator, and he was looking for a deadly move. Finally, when the crocodile attacked him again, he plunged his sharp wolf claws into the animal’s nose and then stabbed it in the eye with his own.
His movements were swift and precise, causing the crocodile to lose its sense of smell and sight in an instant. The wounded crocodile, in its haste to escape, had accidentally fallen into a pool of mud when it lost its sight, and in a short time the carcass was slowly sinking into the mud, and was finally completely engulfed in it.
After dealing with the crocodiles, Klaus’s path becomes clear, and when he finally reaches the Luna hunting area, he finds an Alpha Warrior patrolling there.
Doubtless the Alpha Soldier must have been arranged by Dyson for no other purpose than to prevent a conspiracy between Alpha and Luna.
At that moment a plan flashed across Klaus’s mind that perhaps the presence of the alpha warrior would be a boon to him.
Klaus sneaks up behind the patrolling Alpha Warrior and takes advantage of his unpreparedness to knock him unconscious. Klaus drags Alpha Warrior behind a large tree and changes into a soldier’s outfit.
Now, he can move around the area without scruple. So he calmed down, adjusted his breathing, and tried to find Emily in the cloudy odors.
At last he could smell the faint scent of Emily, faintly mingled with a hint of blood. Immediately after, her extremely low wheezing voice came to his keen ear.
Damn, there was danger in approaching her.
Klaus’s eyes glowed with a fierce light, and he was hurrying as fast as he could to Emily’s side.
