Chapter 118: Chapter 118 What to Do in the Heat?

Emily lay down on the bed, the sensation of the heat making it difficult for her to sleep. Soft moonlight streamed through the windows, flooding the floor of the hospital room with a silvery whiteness. She rolled over gently and slid out of bed, her feet making a soft sound on the cool floor.

Slowly, she walked over to the dining-room table, searching for water to drink. When she picked up her water bottle, she realized it was empty.

"Damn it, there’s no water," Emily muttered, setting the kettle down. As she looked down, she noticed a faint orange glow seeping in through the crack under the door. The glow was reminiscent of a flickering candle, standing out against the darkness.

Emily bit her lower lip lightly, knowing that Klaus was out there.

Her wolf was stirring again.

"Calm down, Shirley," Emily whispered to her wolf. "There must be a way for us to get through this."

"I need him," Shirley said bluntly. "Right now."

"Remember rule number one: if you want a man who can’t get over you, don’t initiate it," Emily reminded her wolves.

"That rule doesn’t apply to me because I’m just a wolf," Shirley replied with a hint of sarcasm. "I’ll only follow my instinctive will."

"And I insist on guarding my honor," Emily said stubbornly. "I won’t go begging to him."

Shirley sneered. "Shit."

"Congratulations, young lady," Emily said to Shirley as she picked up the kettle. "This is the first time we’ve had a disagreement, and soon you’ll see who’s boss. Now, I’m going to get some cold water to cool you down."

Shirley paid no heed to Emily, maintaining her silent pride.

Emily pushed open the door leading to the sickroom and, like a wary deer, poked her head through slowly. That’s when Klaus’s voice came from the other end of the hallway.

"Can’t you sleep, lover?" His low, magnetic voice seemed to carry a power that pierced straight to her heart.

Klaus was leaning against the wall, and the light from the corridor poured over him, outlining his tall, erect silhouette. He wore a simple short-sleeved shirt, the collar slightly open, revealing a small section of his delicate collarbone, with a touch of unintentional sexiness.

His sleeves were carelessly pulled up, revealing small, sturdy arms with smooth, powerful lines. His lips were slightly upturned, almost carrying a smirk.

He stood there in that quiet, aloof manner, as if he were a god stepping out of a painting, radiating an irresistible charm.

Oh my God. This man is smoking hot.

Emily gulped as she gripped her water bottle tightly, her words stumbling out, "I... I’m trying to find water."

"Do you need me to get you a bottle of water?" Klaus took a step toward Emily, and as his tall figure closed in on her, she felt a powerful aura engulf her.

She could smell the distinctive male scent emanating from Klaus, a scent that fascinated her.

"You haven’t answered me yet," Klaus gazed down at Emily, his dark green eyes like bottomless pools of water, gazing intently at her.

"I..." Emily’s throat suddenly went dry, her eyes averted. "Yes."

"Go to your room and wait for me. I’ll be right back," Klaus’s gentle voice echoed down the hallway, unmistakable.

Emily nodded and retreated to her room, closing the door behind her. Her back pressed against the cold wall, her breathing suddenly became labored.

Emily clutched at her heaving chest, muttering to herself, "What the hell is wrong with me?"

That fire of desire was not only coursing through her, it was growing hotter and hotter. It felt as if every inch of her body were being crawled over by ants, leaving her incredibly uncomfortable.

She felt herself growing hotter and hotter.

"Calm down, I must calm down," Emily said to herself, what little sense she had left clinging to that thought.

She placed the kettle on the table and hurried to the bathroom. Emily turned on the faucet, then cupped her hands and splashed cold water over her face.

Once Emily had regained her composure, she realized that her shirt and pants were damp. So, she took off her pants and dropped them in the laundry basket, then walked out of the bathroom with her bare legs exposed.

"I got you a bottle of water," Klaus stood in the center of the dimly lit hospital room, a soft white moonlight streaming in from the balcony, casting a glow over his body. The outline of his face was partially obscured by the moonlight.

Klaus’s eyes wandered over Emily’s body before lingering between her bare legs. His voice was husky, "You’re wet, lover."

"I just accidentally got my pants wet," Emily explained in a small voice.

"Your shirt is wet too. Why don’t you take it off?" Klaus’s eyes were fixed on the water stains on Emily’s chest as he slowly approached her.

Emily tried to step back, but her feet seemed rooted to the floor. Klaus filled the room with an oppressive aura akin to a king, and as he neared, Emily felt momentarily small.

Klaus’s hands went to the back of Emily’s head, and he slowly moved his palms down her back, stopping when they reached her hips.

"So, are you going to keep holding back?" Klaus’s mouth was close to Emily’s ear, his voice taking on a seductive tone.

Emily didn’t utter a word, but tilted her head to one side and gazed downward. The room was silent, and the sound of her heartbeats intertwined with Klaus’s low breathing, creating an ambiguous melody.

Suddenly, Klaus pushed Emily’s hips forward, pressing his body against the small of her back, and Emily gave him a startled look at the suddenness of his movement.

Klaus picked Emily up and set her down on the table, then came between her legs. One of his hands encircled Emily’s waist, pulling her close to him, while the other lifted her chin.

Klaus looked deep into Emily’s eyes, his gaze full of desire and possession. He pressed his thumb against her bottom lip before leaning down and kissing her.

Klaus’s tongue explored Emily’s mouth frantically, as if she belonged to him. His kisses almost took her breath away, and though she tried to push him away, he kissed her harder.

The fire of desire in Emily’s body blazed hotter and hotter, and she felt hot all over. The little sense she had left in her head vanished, and she was as helpless as a rabbit in the jaws of a great wolf.

By the time Klaus had finished kissing her, Emily was breathless, her head resting on Klaus’s chest, and she could hear her heart pounding like a drum.

Klaus stroked Emily’s cheek as he whispered to her, "Let me pleasure you, my queen."
