Chapter 308: 308-Maybe He Killed His Luna

Lara:

"Kash, you knew how I felt about Iris," his mother continued, not missing any chance to talk about her and remind Kash that what happened could have been prevented if he had not been stubborn and had listened to her.

Kash grunted as he stopped pacing, almost lost in thought, but his grip on the papers tightened.

"Now your sister is distraught, your children have no mother, and you cannot even tell them why," she went on.

As she paused, Kash looked up at her and grunted.

"You want me to bring her back for the children?" he asked.

Lady Vivian and I exchanged a fearful look. This was not what we were trying to do.

"No, she is not the kind of woman you would want raising your children. Besides, it is not your decision anymore. Mark is the victim, and he will not forgive her," his mother snapped.

Posing Markus as a rape victim was the main weapon.

He closed his eyes and stretched his neck back.

"I did not say I would bring her back. I thought that is what you wanted. Because if that is the case, then you would have to leave too. Trust me, she is not coming back here," he replied.

Kash’s anger was so intense that he even threatened his mother.

I watched the fear settle on her face, and she realized she had to choose her words carefully.

"No, I would never ask you to bring her here," Lady Vivian said, her voice rising.

"Your sister is suffering. Her marriage is on the rocks because her husband was raped here by your wife under our supervision."

She wiped her tears, but they kept falling.

"We do not even know if he will forgive us or if he will ever look at our faces again."

Her breathing turned uneven as her shoulders trembled.

"And your sister, I do not even know if she will be able to handle the heartbreak, all because of your selfish choice of picking a woman like Iris," she finished, her voice cracking.

Tears fell freely from her eyes, and I could tell they were not fake.

She had probably exhausted herself with all the screaming and crying.

Then it happened.

Kash began to pace anxiously before looking at his mother again, this time with far more anger on his face.

"You know what? I’m going to fucking kill her," he said.

Those words falling from Kash’s lips felt like a dream. I had always wanted it to happen, and now it finally was.

However, Kash did not wait for anyone. He suddenly stormed out.

"Where do you think he’s going?" his mother asked, running after him.

I ran after him as well, but it was too late. He had already gotten into the car and driven off.

We watched him leave, then looked at each other.

"Do you think I pushed him too far? What if he does something to himself?" his mother asked anxiously, rubbing her palms together.

I wanted to tell her she should have thought about it before talking so much, but I only gave her a concerned look.

"I think he just went to submit the papers," I replied.

She took a few seconds, then placed a hand on her chest and let out a sigh of relief.

"If that is the case, I will be so relieved," she added with another sigh.

"I will go check on Zoe," she mumbled, stepping away. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

Once she was gone, Markus appeared.

He looked at me and tried to hurry past, but I extended my arm and placed it on the doorframe, stopping him.

"What is the rush?" I asked in a calm yet unsettling tone.

"I did what you told me to do. Now please, will you delete that recording?" he requested.

He was referring to the phone call I recorded where he was speaking to the other woman who was pregnant with his child.

"I will ask you the same thing. What is the rush?" I said, shrugging.

"I am not going to show it to anyone. Do not worry." I chuckled.

"But do not forget, you are supposed to tell Zoe that you want to leave this place and live somewhere else with her. And take her mother with you for her comfort." I watched him sigh tiredly.

"You plan all of this. I am too pregnant to keep handling this and cleaning up everyone’s mess," I grunted, folding my arms across my chest.

"You must be really happy. You got rid of the biggest hurdle in your way. Now he is all yours," Markus commented, putting his hands into his pockets.

Hearing someone say that Kash was all mine felt like an accomplishment.

I gave him a cheeky grin and shrugged.

"Well, I am a good person," I replied, blinking at him repeatedly, trying to intimidate him.

He rolled his eyes and walked past me.

I remained in the living room because I had to act like I was taking care of the children when Kash returned, even though I had not checked on them once.

I just prayed they would not wake up. I would not be able to calm them myself while listening to them cry for their mother.

Around midnight, I heard a car arrive and jolted awake.

When I got up, Kash had already stepped into the living room.

He saw me and frowned in confusion.

I noticed his belt was removed and hanging from his hand.

His hands were covered in blood. There was blood on the belt too.

It was an exciting sight, but I was worried about what he had done. If only what I had prayed for was true.

"What are you doing here?" he asked softly.

I did not respond. My eyes remained fixed on the belt.

"I had to punish her," he uttered in a deep, heavy undertone.

Once he finished speaking, he dropped the belt on the floor, and my jaw hung open.

"You punished her?" I asked, disappointed because I had wanted to see it happen in front of me, but I knew that was not possible.

If too many people had seen it, they would have told his children.

But the amount of blood scared me.

"Did she die? There is a lot of blood," I asked, unable to stop myself.

He looked at me with a blunt expression.
