Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 254-My Husband Is Going To Be A Father
Iris:
Lara’s arrival back at the mansion hinted that it was not going to be easy for us to be happy. Of course, we could not expect her to walk away.
She was Lara. She gave her crown to this man.
What was worse was that Kash’s mother had brought her in. She gave her son a look that made it clear she would not allow him to drop her from his life just like that.
When he questioned her, she handed him some documents.
"What is that?" Kash demanded, opening the files.
They looked like test results. That alone twisted my stomach.
"Read them carefully. You will understand what it is," his mother replied, casting me harsh glares.
Lara stood to the side and did the same. She even looked at Zoe as if Zoe was the reason I was here.
Kash opened the documents while I stood beside him, unable to see the pages.
Then I watched him crush the results in his fist. I already knew whatever he read was not something he had ever expected.
"What is this nonsense?" Kash barked, his voice making my children jolt.
They turned to their father and watched him lose his temper.
"Kids, come with me," Zoe urged the children.
For the first time in a long while, I did not insist that she stay away from them. When I watched her walk off with them, I noticed Kash’s mother and Lara observing the change in my behavior toward Zoe.
My children moved away as Kash’s anger continued to rise.
"These are the test results. I got them done after I passed out," Lara replied, sounding upset that he was still questioning her, as if she resented the outcome of whatever she had done.
I grew impatient and snatched the file from his hand. What I read made my heart drop.
I lifted my gaze from the file and saw the look on Lara’s face, as if she were telling me I could never win against her. She would always bounce back.
"You’re pregnant?" I whispered, since Kash would not say it aloud.
"I indeed am," Lara replied, broadening her shoulders and looking cocky.
Kash turned to me for a reaction, then looked back at her.
"This is ridiculous. I have never slept with you. How the hell do you expect me to believe that you’re pregnant with my child?" Kash shouted, his fists clenching and his eyes narrowing at her.
Even his mother glanced at Lara, as if questioning whether what he claimed was true.
"Right. We never slept together except that one time at the hotel, when we passed out drunk after we had sex. Did you forget about that?" Lara shot back.
She did not hesitate to face Kash. I saw his demeanor shift when he remembered that day.
I remembered it too. The moment I heard about test results, I put two and two together.
I just did not think it would be this hard to reclaim my happiness.
"Anyway, we will keep the environment calm and clean because the doctor said Lara needs a lot of care. Whatever issues you have with your wife, deal with them in your room, but do not make her worry," Kash’s mother instructed.
Her words made me turn to Kash because I did not know what he would do.
I knew how important it was for Alpha Kings to keep their children together. They were their responsibility, and anyone could use them to steal the crown.
"No. I will get the tests done myself," Kash argued, stretching his arm out to block Lady Vivian and Lara from entering the mansion.
"You think I’m lying?" his mother snapped.
Kash placed his hands on his waist and grunted. His body radiated tension.
"I know she’s capable of lying."
He did not stop there. He called Lara a liar, leaving her jaw hanging open.
Then she composed herself and rubbed her face with her hand, as if trying to stop the tears before they formed.
"It’s okay. He can do the test. He can do as many tests as he wants. The outcome will be the same," Lara murmured, her voice cracking slightly.
"Lara needs to rest," his mother insisted, trying again to move past him.
"No," Kash growled, making his mother slam her hands against her thighs in frustration.
"What do you want, son? She is your mate, and she is pregnant. How can you ask her not to enter her home?" his mother demanded, watching his face for an answer.
"I don’t think it’s right for her to stay here," Kash stated, offering no explanation.
"You know she is pregnant," his mother reminded him.
Kash raised his hand in a small gesture.
"I know. Her father is wealthy. We will think about it later. Right now, I want her gone."
His mother stared at him and shook her head in disbelief.
Lara stood there in tears. She must have thought Kash would change his mind for her.
I stayed silent because I did not want to interfere. It was bad enough that he had used her for his own purpose, so I refused to make decisions for him.
Kash did not look guilty. He showed no regret.
"Then let’s go. Lara, I will move out with you. Drop me at the old age home before you return to your father," his mother declared, stepping forward as she threatened to leave with her.
"Mother, you can’t force—" Kash began to protest.
I gently nudged his arm, stopping him.
Kash fell silent at once, and I noticed Lara saw it. She probably misunderstood the gesture as control, but I had a plan.
I just needed to speak with Kash first.
"Give us a minute," I requested.
The two women looked at me bitterly.
"Well, I’m taking Lara to her room while you listen to your wife and let her fill your ears with negativity and hatred for us," Lady Vivian remarked, walking past her son and leading Lara inside.
