Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 248-Slipping In The Pearl
Kash:
"What do you want me to say to her, Your Highness?" the warrior asked, snapping me out of my thoughts again as he waited for my response.
"Nothing. I’ll speak with her myself. Thank you," I told him, dismissing him with a hand gesture because I had more important things to deal with.
When I reached the kitchen, my mood changed as I watched my kids with my sister.
"Daddy, look. We prepared snacks. We helped," Amy called, jumping up and down happily while clapping her hands. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
I knelt down in front of my little daughter and gently touched her cheek. I knew she was missing both her mother and her father. I wanted to promise my daughter that after today, her parents would never separate, but I had a few things to take care of first.
"I see. You did an amazing job," I told her, complimenting Amy.
She gave a very cute shrug of her shoulders, looking so cocky that it made me laugh.
"I also helped," Colin pouted, making me glance at Zoe before I laughed at his sassy attitude.
"They both helped," Zoe added, admiring my children.
"I see. Since mother has been calling the warriors, would you be kind enough to ask her what she wants while I speak with my children?" I asked Zoe.
She gave a quick nod, grabbed her phone from the countertop, and walked away.
"Okay, kids, listen to me," I said, bringing both of them closer to me.
They paid full attention, watching me with confusion and curiosity.
"Your mother is a little sick, okay?" I told them.
Before concern could take over their faces, I added, "But it’s nothing serious. Daddy got the medicine," I said, holding Colin’s hand in one of mine and Amy’s in the other.
"I’m going to put this medicine in your mother’s drink, okay?" I whispered, keeping one eye on the door so nobody would hear my conversation with my children.
"It’s okay, Daddy. I’ll tell Mommy to drink the medicine. Don’t worry," Amy said, trying to sound smart.
I shook my head, and she pouted again.
"No, that’s the thing. You’re not supposed to tell her," I explained. "You see, your mommy is afraid of medicines. So if you tell her, she won’t drink it."
I rushed through my words, trying to make them understand how important it was.
"So what do you want us to do?" Colin asked, raising a better question.
"I want you to stay silent and not drink from this glass. It’s supposed to be Mommy’s. Remember that," I told them. "No matter how many times she asks you to drink from it or tells you to take a few sips, you will say no, okay? Only your mother is supposed to drink it because it has medicine. Do you understand me?"
I looked at both my children, one by one.
They stared at my face before nodding their heads together.
"Good," I said.
Then I pulled out the pearl and walked toward the drink, still keeping one eye on the door. I slipped the pearl into Iris’s drink and watched it melt and slowly dissolve.
"Kash, Mom was saying that she wants you at the hospital with her," Zoe arrived, after she spoke to mom.
By then, I had already slipped the medicine into the drink.
"Why is that?" I complained. "Does she not know that I’m not going to change my decision?"
Zoe shrugged, looking helpless.
"Anyway, just prepare the food and send it to her at the hospital," I told her. "But don’t expect me to go there. Let her know if she asks you again. I’ll be busy for some time. By then, Iris’s anger will simmer down too. And I’m pretty sure my sister will put in a good word for me."
I joked with my sister, who rolled her eyes playfully before nodding.
"Of course I will. Only if she listens to me. It seems like she’s really angry," Zoe commented playfully.
"It’s okay. We can do it. We will tell Mommy not to be angry with you," Colin and Amy said in unison.
Their words made Zoe and me share a glance before we started laughing at them, always trying to be helpful.
"Zoe, why don’t you take them to the room so that Iris can take care of them?" I suggested.
Once again, Zoe agreed and took my children away.
It was important that Iris drank it. It did not matter who fed her. All that mattered was that she held the glass herself and drank it.
Once Zoe returned, I handed her the tray. As expected, she took the snacks and walked out.
For the first few minutes, I paced around anxiously. I did not want to go inside and face Iris, or have her anger taken out on the snacks and the drink.
After some time, a maid went in to give them water. When she returned, she told me that the glass was empty.
I knew my children did not drink pineapple juice, so I felt hopeful. I had thought out a solid plan. Sadly, I had to include my children.
I had to let them know that the glass contained medicine so they would not drink it. Somehow, I knew my children were intelligent enough not to tell Iris.
They were not too little. They were the Alpha King’s children. They knew what to do and what not to do.
After that, when Iris said she wanted to rest and locked the door, it was already a sign that she had taken the medicine.
Still, I had to wait.
Then early in the morning, Iris was awake, and it was time for me to finally end this whole mess, to reduce the distance between us, and to tell her the truth.
I did not choose Lara for power. I chose Lara because I had to save Iris. Finally, it was time for us to reunite as a family and for others to leave us alone.
