Alpha's Hidden Precious Luna-Chapter 93
Lucas POV
The warm glow of the bedside lamp bathed the room in soft, golden hues as I pulled out of Vanessa and lay on the plush pillows, I was spent but my wolf was satisfied.
Although Vanessa was not our fated mate she was good in bed... I would give her that at least. Her fingers traced lazy patterns across my chest, stopping now and again to press open-mouthed kisses on where her fingers had just traced but my mind was elsewhere – on Lily.
I wondered what she was doing now. All attempts to get a spy into Alpha Kai’s pack had proved abortive and not knowing what she was up to every day was killing me. I closed my eyes, trying to picture her smile, her beautiful eyes that would look up at me with smiles in them...
Back when she was still innocent.. when she was still my Lily. The last time we’d met, she’d been cold. She had gazed back at me blankly, without any emotion. The problem was, no matter how much intimacy I shared with Vanessa, my thoughts always circled back to Lily.
I have to win her back at all costs and soon.
“Lucas?” Vanessa’s voice broke through my reverie, slightly irritated.
I groaned inwardly hoping my closed eyelids would be a sign that I wasn’t interested in talking to her but I heard rustling next to me. I cracked my eyelids slightly I saw that she propped herself up on her elbow, her dark hair cascading over her shoulder as she called out to me again.
“Lucas!”
I sighed and opened my eyes. “What?”
“Did you hear a word of what I’ve been saying?” She sounded annoyed and I didn’t care.
“No!” I murmured, my gaze flickering to the gentle swell of her full chest and the way her creamy skin glowed under the dim light.
I felt a surge of lust pass through me drowning out thoughts of Lily as I reached out instinctively, my large hand cupping one of her breasts, as I brushed my thumb over her nipple.
“How can I remember anything you said when your breast is in my face? You never spare me.”
She laughed – the sound was a mix of amusement and satisfaction as she leaned back against the bed giving me more access.
“Someone’s needy,” she teased, her laughter trailing off into a contented sigh. “Since we got officially mated, we make love up to a dozen times every week. It’s as if something’s possessed you. You weren’t like this when we were dating.”
I didn’t respond immediately. I lowered my head, taking an errant nipple into my mouth, deliberately running my tongue around the rough, puckered edges slowly. Her breath hitched, her fingers sliding through my hair as she arched slightly beneath me.
I grabbed her waist, pulling her closer as I ran my hands up and down her exposed thighs. I deflected every attempt from her to kiss me, settling instead to nibbling her neck, giving her small bites.
Making sure she was fully aroused, I fell back to my side of the bed, propping myself with my hand as I began to trace her skin.
“Now that we’re mated,” I began “It means we can no longer keep secrets from each other, doesn’t it?”
She nodded, a flicker of apprehension crossing her eyes before her expression softened. “Of course,” she said with a smile, reaching up to run her finger idly trailing along my jaw. “We’re bonded now, Lucas. There are no secrets between us.” 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
I leaned back, trying to be as calm and unsuspecting as possible. “Good. Because I’ve been thinking about something lately.” I shifted slightly, turning to face her, still lying on the bed. “Tell me about that day. The day you and your father disappeared.”
She stiffened beneath my touch. “What day?”
“Do you remember a few months ago? That day you said you wouldn’t be going to lectures and told me to eat dinner alone?”
She frowned slightly, her brows knitting together. “That’s a long time ago. Why?”
I tilted my head, locking my gaze onto hers. “You and your father came home late that night, very late. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but later, I heard something... interesting.”
Her fingers on my jaws stilled, as beads of sweat gathered on her forehead but she still pretended like she didn’t know what I was talking about. “What do you mean?” she asked cautiously.
“I head,” I began slowly. “That you went to Royal Hunter’s Pack. To Alpha Kai Ryker’s pack,” I paused, watching her reaction.
Her eyes widened, but she quickly tried to cover it with a nervous laugh. “Who told you that?”
I gave her a pointed stare. “That’s not important. What’s important is that you didn’t mention that to me. When I asked you where you had been that day, you lied and I can’t help but wonder what else you’ve lied about.”
She shifted uncomfortably. “It wasn’t a big deal,” she said, her voice wavering slightly. “We were just handling some... family matters.”
“Family matters?” I repeated with a scoff. “So, back then you didn’t consider me family?”
“Of course I did,” she said hastily, her gaze darting away. “It’s just that my father didn’t want me to tell you and I had no choice.”
“You have a choice now, tell me the truth. Why did you and your father go to Alpha Kai’s pack?”
She hesitated again, clearly torn. Finally, with a resigned sigh, she looked back at me. “We heard Lily was there and my dad wanted to make sure.”
“Lily?” I feigned ignorance. “I thought she was sent to Shadow Moon back for College? What is she doing at Royal Hunters?”
“No idea,” she shrugged.
“So, what did he want to know?” I asked again.
She sat up, pulling the blanket around her body. “It wasn’t me,” she said quickly. “It was my father. He wanted to confirm she was there. He was angry that she didn’t go to Shadow Moon again and felt disrespected. Anyways, Alpha Kai confirmed that she was in the pack.”
“And?”
“Well, my father wanted him to punish her. He told Alpha Kai that she was a rogue.”
“And what did Alpha Kai say?” I pressed, still calm.
She hesitated again. “He said... he would decide the best way to punish a stray.”
My jaw clenched but I forced myself to remain calm. “Your sister is now a stray? Really?” I echoed. “That’s a different question for another day but why didn’t you tell me?”
“I didn’t think it mattered. You just broke up with her... I didn’t think you’d want to hear any news regarding her. Plus, it wasn’t my idea. I didn’t even want to go, but my father insisted and nothing came of it, anyway.”
I scoffed, swinging my legs over to the side of the bed. I stood running a hand through my hair. “Vanessa, you’re my mate now. That means no secrets and you never lie to me – especially things involving your father and my ex.”
She flinched at the word ‘ex’ but recovered quickly. “I’m sorry, Lucas. I didn’t mean to hide it from you. I didn’t think it was important.”
“And another thing,” I said again. “Stop running to your father every time something happens in our marriage. We’re mates now and you should share every single thing with me. Understand?”
“Yes!” she nodded.
“Good!”
