Alpha's Hidden Precious Luna-Chapter 64
Lily POV
An hour later, we were in the living room, eating from a box of pizza and watching TV but I was hardly seeing what was on the screen. My body was still humming from the aftermath of the intimacy I shared with Kai earlier.
Plus sitting next to him now... our thighs occasionally rubbing, our hands brushing each other accidentally when we try to reach for a pizza slice. The tension in the room was building and I could tell, Kai felt the same way too.
“What are you doing this weekend?” he asked suddenly breaking the silence.
“Rest, probably. It’s been a busy week for me. I intend to also go shopping with Celeste. Do my hair, my nails...” I trailed off and turned to him, he had a sardonic twist on his lips. “What?”
“You spend more time with my sister than anyone else. You spent last weekend at her house too,” he complained.
“I had to help her with catering. She had friends over and needed an extra pair of hands.”
“I’m beginning to think she’s the mate and not me,” he sighed, turning away from me.
“C’mon now!” I chuckled, reaching for him. “It’s not my fault plus we spent last week together at least.”
“That is not enough!” he huffed. “But there’s a way to make it up to me.”
It was a trap... but I liked it. “Fine, tell me.”
“Spend the night here with me, please...” he said earnestly.
After what happened in the kitchen, spending a night with him was not a good choice but the way he looked at me, like a child asking for candy. I couldn’t bring myself to say No. And, I didn’t know if I was ready to be intimate with him yet.
“I have morning lectures tomorrow, how about this weekend? I’ll spend the entire weekend with you, that’s if you’re not busy.”
His face lit up with a smile. “I’m not busy, even if I am, I can clear my schedule don’t worry.”
I laughed and was going to reply to him when my phone rang. The caller ID was a strange number but I answered anyway.
“Hello?”
“Lily, this is Beta Liam, is Kai there with you?”
Kai who stood up to refill our glass of wine had just returned and I pointed at my phone, mouthing, “It’s Liam.”
“He is with you right?” Liam hissed, he sounded angry, "Can you please put the phone on speaker or pass it to him? I’ve been trying to reach him all evening but he turned off his damn phone and won’t take my mind links either.”
“He says it’s urgent,” I whispered to Kai, who rolled his eyes and dropped the glasses of wine on the coffee table before indicating I gave him my phone.
When I handed the phone to him, he moved to the farthest end of the living room to take the call. A while later, he returned, with a troubled expression on his face.
“Did something happen?” I asked.
“Nothing that cannot be fixed,” he said quietly. “I’m sorry dear but I have to return to the pack now. Something came up and requires my presence.” 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
“Oh!” I nodded “Don’t worry, we’ll have time later.”
“This weekend,” he murmured squatting in front of me as he held my hands, staring right into my eyes. “I know you have a lot of doubts and I’m willing to wait until you’re ready but don’t keep me waiting for too long... every time I see you, my self-control reduces by half. I want you, Lily... so much... not just physical intimacy but...” he sighed. “I want to make you mine, in every way possible.”
“But Briella...” I said with a small voice.
“I’ll deal with that, don’t worry. Just trust me, okay?”
I nodded, feeling warmth course through me at his reassuring words. “I trust you.”
“Good!” he sighed straightening, “Come along, I’ll drop you off. Also, let’s leave this space before I change my mind.”
I told him to drop me off at Celeste’s house. He finally let me go, after another long kiss. I watched as he drove off, with a smile on my face. I tried to school my expression, hoping I didn’t look like a woman who has been thoroughly loved today.
Taking a deep breath, I started towards the house. I met Celeste and her grandparents in the living room talking animatedly about something.
“Hi, good evening,” I greeted them hurriedly, trying to escape to my room but Celeste stopped me before I could take a step further.
“Kai dropped you off?” she asked narrowing her eyes at me.
“Y-Yeah!” I nodded, trying to look less guilty.
“Is he still bothering you with the weekly report thing?” Celeste hissed. “Jake told me he’s been coming to the training ground every morning to spar with you. Do you want me to talk to him? Is he disturbing you?”
“No!” I said hastily, causing everyone in the room to stare at me with surprise. I gave them an awkward smile, trying to come up with a suitable explanation. “I mean, he won’t bother me again. He was just coming to check on my progress that’s all but he won’t come again, I promise.”
“Are you sure?” Celeste asked staring at me curiously.
“A hundred per cent,” I said with a smile.
“So why did he want to see you tonight?” she probed further.
“Darling, the poor girl looks tired and sleepy,” Celeste’s grandmother chirped in, saving me from coming up with a reply other than, I’ve been spending time with Kai. “Are you hungry dear?” Celeste’s grandmother asked me.
I knew if I said No, it would raise further suspicion. “Yes,” I nodded, casting her a grateful smile. I could still see Celeste, looking at me with suspicion as I hurried off to my room to freshen up.
Then night, I tossed and turned in my bed, unable to sleep. Nala was restless too, the mate bond hummed beneath my skin, calling out for Kai. I couldn’t stop thinking about the kiss, about all the intimate moments we’ve spent together.
The more I thought about it, the more it pooled warmth in my woman’s core. Somehow, I managed to drift into sleep until suddenly something woke me up. A soft noise from the window woke me up.
I stirred, and sat up, staring at the clock on my bedside table. It was just three in the morning and I couldn’t help but wonder where the sound was coming from. Suddenly, the door to my room opened and a tall figure stepped in, closing the door quietly.
The room was dark and my eyes were still groggy from sleep, so I couldn’t recognize who it was. My heart leapt to my throat as I gasped, and opened my mouth preparing to scream when strong hands suddenly clamped over my mouth, muffling the noise.
“Hey, it’s me...” the figure said urgently. I turned shocked when I saw the familiar amber eyes staring back at me, pleadingly.
