Alpha's Bite Between My Legs-Chapter 301: The Plan for Search
Felissa waved goodbye at her parents, who were riding a carriage to go back in the Midnight pack.
"How are you feeling, Lady Felissa?" Vicenzo asked in concern. He didn’t know what had happened and was concerned about Felissa’s well-being.
"I’m alright, for now," Felissa replied with a tight smile. She was delighted that her parents didn’t push further on her marriage with Fabio. Still, she was certain it wouldn’t take long for them to convince her again of another possible political marriage.
"I’m glad," Vicenzo stated out of nowhere and sighed in relief. Out of his usual cold character, Felissa was surprised at his reaction.
"Huh," Felissa opened her mouth to speak, but Rosina’s voice was heard in the area.
"Lady Felissa," Rosina called out and walked toward Felissa. Beside her were Fina and Silvio to assist her needs.
"Ah, Your Majesty!" Felissa exclaimed brightly and ran toward Rosina. She lowered her head in respect. "Thank you for what you did for me," she thanked genuinely.
"No worries, you are my close friend, Lady Felissa, but your battles don’t stop there," Rosina sighed. She desired to tell the information to Felissa so she could prepare in advance and think of her plan for her future.
Felissa pursed her lips to prepare herself for what she was about to hear. "What is it, Your Majesty?" she asked.
"Before you arrived. "Your parents and I talked about the Midnight pack’s situation and your father’s health," Rosina stated, holding Felissa’s hand to comfort her.
"My father’s health keeps on getting worse each day, and medication is not helping much to keep him well," Felissa said with a sad smile.
"Yes, but there’s something more. It’s not my place to say this, and I don’t want you to be pressured, but your father might not last long for a year," Rosina stated softly, wanting to be sure that Felissa wouldn’t be too shocked.
"What? Less than a year?...." Felissa gasped in disbelief. She loved her father very much and couldn’t imagine his life was restricted. She felt her heart breaking apart, and it was hard to breathe. The realization was too much for her to handle.
Felissa stepped back, and her knees buckled from loss of strength. Vicenzo caught her immediately and tightened his grip to ensure Felissa wouldn’t fall to the ground.
"Lady Felissa, hang in there!" Vicenzo yelled and shook Felissa’s body to help her regain her senses.
"Rosina, what... should I do?" Felissa asked and forgot to use the titles when they spoke each other’s names.
"You need to find your mate, Felissa. Perhaps, he needs to find you," Rosina stated and glanced at Vicenzo, whose face hardened.
"What if... I don’t meet him this year?" Felissa sat up and looked at Rosina in desperation about her situation.
"I don’t know," Rosina replied. She patted Felissa’s head for comfort. "Don’t worry. It’s going to be okay," she added, and an idea struck her brain.
Rosina gestured to Vicenzo to help Felissa stand up and recover her balance while assisting her.
"I hope so," Felissa replied softly. Somehow, knowing that Rosina was there by her side assured her that someone would help her.
"Smile, Lady Felissa. You need to be strong, and also, we can make plans to find your mate!" Rosina exclaimed in delight.
"Ehh!" Felissa was taken aback that Rosina already had a plan.
"Since your mate didn’t show up at the Mating Event. Then perhaps you will visit each pack to sense if he is there. After all, the realm is too vast and contains hundreds to thousands of wolves. Maybe he didn’t attend the Mating Event this time, but we can’t wait for him any longer, right?" Rosina exclaimed teasingly.
"I think that’s a great idea. I’ll find him, but if I won’t be able to do so. I’ll accept Lord Fabio’s proposal," Felissa shared what was on her mind seriously. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"What!? Why will you do that!?" Rosina exclaimed in surprise since she had never thought Felissa would decide something so wrong.
"Because I can’t afford to lose my father so early. I want him to rest as soon as possible," Felissa replied and sucking up all her negative thoughts and giving everyone a cheerful smile. "I’ll be fine," she added.
"Lady Felissa, you can rule the Midnight pack alone!" Rosina grabbed Felissa’s shoulder and shook them lightly. She wanted to slap Felissa’s cheeks to wake her up to the reality that there were other options than going to a sh^tty path.
"Yes, but it won’t be that easy," Felissa replied, trying her best not to cry. She hated the idea of being with Fabio, knowing that he was a piece of sh^t and had a mate, but she would accept it for her father’s sake.
Rosina wanted to lecture Felissa, but she gave up. Ultimately, Felissa was an adult who could decide independently, and she could only give suggestions and help on the sideline.
"Alright, but don’t give up on your mate first, okay," Rosina stated with a smile. She was delighted Felissa was trying her best before giving up in the end. After all, if it came to Felissa accepting Fabio’s proposal. She would reject it.
"I won’t. I will try my best!" Felissa chirped and grinned brightly. Although, deep inside, she was saddened by the news of her father. The pressure to find her mate weighed on her shoulder, which was heavy to carry.
Felissa glanced at Vicenzo and noticed his face crumpled up in disapproval.
"You must think I’m a dumb Lady, Sir Vicenzo," Felissa giggled and said it as a joke, but Vicenzo didn’t take it that way.
"No, Lady Felissa, but I can’t understand how this whole situation can only be answered by having a mate. Suppose there’s a slight possibility of ruling the pack on your own. In that case, you should take that chance instead, Lady Felissa," Vicenzo suggested boldly, which made Felissa’s eyes widen in surprise.
"How nice of you, Sir Vicenzo, but I don’t think I can handle it alone," Felissa stated weakly, and her heart sank with her confidence. Even though she was schooled to become a Luna, taking a huge responsibility alone was too much for her to handle.
On the other hand, Rosina was enjoying the interaction between the two.
