Chapter 35: Incapable Of Love.

**Isabella**

A knock sounded at the door, and Felicia quickly went to answer it. Dean hurriedly rushed inside and knelt down in front of Razor.

"Boss, Beta Tom is here. He said he has something urgent to speak to you about," he stated, briefly glancing at me, lying on top of Razor’s body.

My lips curved into a smile. I was really glad that he was alright. I had been so worried because what happened to him was my fault.

"Where is he?" Razor asked nonchalantly, stroking my hair softly. His masterful fingers were making me feel things on my fucking body.

"Inside your office, boss."

"Alright, tell him I’ll be there shortly." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"Yes, sir," Dean nodded and hurriedly left to do as Razor ordered.

Razor held me, and sat on the couch. "I have to go right now, my love," he pecked me on my lips, getting up on his feet. "I’ll see you later." He headed out of the penthouse, leaving me speechless.

This was actually the first time I’ve heard him call me ’my love.’ Oddly, it felt kind of good, and I didn’t even know how to explain it. I stood up from my seat and headed for the room but stopped when I was about to pass Cross’s room.

The last I heard of him was when Razor was punishing him. I wonder if he’s alright. I took quick strides and knocked on the door, but got no reply. I tried several times until Felicia intervened.

"He’s not allowed to come outside or let anyone in without the boss’s permission," she explained with an apologetic smile.

"So he’s grounded," I wondered aloud, glancing from Felicia to Cross’s door. "He’s okay, right?"

"He is," she nodded. "He just needs a little rest."

I nodded solemnly, glancing at the door for a few seconds before heading to my room. At least I know Dean and Cross are okay. I just have to find out somehow about Cain, if he’s alright.

I was about to enter my room when I turned back. "Felicia, can I ask you something?"

"Yes, of course, Luna, you may," she froze and smiled at me.

"How did my husband’s parents die?"

Her eyes grew large, but she quickly recovered, clearing her throat. "I don’t think it’s in my place to reveal that. I’m sorry, Luna."

My eyes rolled in irritation. Why did I even bother? "Then what about that bitch Tara, did she have anything to do with it?"

Felicia hesitated, glancing around wearily. Why is everyone so scared of Razor? I know he’s a brute, but they act as though he’s some sort of god.

I shrugged."I can’t even know that much?" I was about to leave before her voice stopped me.

"Yes. Her betrayal led to his parents’ death," she revealed cautiously. "I can’t say any further. You’ll have to find out the rest from the boss."

Yeah, I’m not doing that. Like everyone else, that man terrifies me. I don’t know what he might do if I dare ask him about this.

I nodded slowly, my mind already racing with thoughts as I watched Felicia head to the kitchen. If that woman did something as despicable as that, why is Razor allowing her to stay here? Or does he love her?

I shook my head, trying to remove the thoughts from my mind. It’s none of my business. Plus, Razor isn’t capable of love anyway.

**Razor**

"Tom, I wasn’t expecting to see you here today," I greeted as I strolled into my office, heading towards the couch where my uncle was seated. "Is there a problem?"

"No, no, not really, Razor," he replied, shaking his head and relaxing on the couch. "I just wanted to know how you’re faring concerning the Dead Man Mafia. There’s a rumor going on right now."

"A rumor?" My brow raised in curiosity.

"Yes, yes," Tom sighed. "There’s a rumor that the damn Mafia are plotting to attack us."

"When have they never plotted to attack us?"

"Well, you’re right. But still, we have to be careful."

"Of course," I concurred, mentally noting the need for heightened security measures.

As Tom continued to talk, my thoughts wandered to the pressing matter I wanted to discuss with him, that damn device Damon created. However my wolf resisted it so bad and it’s bugged me

Ever since my parents died and I took over as the alpha of the pack, my uncle has been there for me and my brother and has never given me a reason to doubt him. Tom was also the beta when my dad was the alpha; he had never acted as though he wanted my position. But Black seems to think otherwise, and I trust Black’s instincts.

"What about Cross?" Tom’s question brought me back to the present, and he held up a family portrait of me, my parents, and my little brother. "I haven’t seen him for a very long time."

"He’s fine," I replied, but Tom’s skeptical gaze prompted me to elaborate. "He’s in his room. He’s grounded."

Tom’s shoulders slumped, and he collapsed onto the couch. "You’re always so strict with that kid, Razor. I know you don’t want to spoil him further, but you’ve got to cut him some slack."

My brows furrowed suspiciously. "Since when did you start to think like this, Tom?"

Tom had been of the belief that Cross needed an iron hand and had actually encouraged me to take charge of disciplining him.

"You’re not the one to talk, uncle," my lips slanted sarcastically. "There’s not much difference between you and me."

"Yes, I know I encouraged you to discipline him, but you’re too strict," he admitted with a chuckle. "I just have a soft spot for Cross now. So I’m praying for some leniency."

Weirdly, Cross doesn’t share his bias; my little brother isn’t the biggest fan of Tom. In fact, I was the one who always forced him to visit Tom most of the time.

"I’ll tell him to drop by soon," I assured him.

"That will be good," he stood up, dropping the portrait back on the table. "I’ve got to go now. Please say hi to Cross."

"Alright, Tom. Say hi to your wife for me also."

He nodded and left the office. Immediately, I summoned Dean and Chris into my office.

They both arrived immediately, kneeling before me. I decided to leave them on their knees because I felt like it.

"So what did you find out, Dean?" I asked, glancing through my phone messages.

"Nothing yet, boss. I’m still on it," Dean stated reluctantly, fearing my wrath, but I decided to keep calm for now. "I stationed men all across the territory. I’m sure they’ll pick up something if there is any."

"Then where the hell are those rumors coming from?" I asked in a low tone, pinning him with an intense stare.

"Rumors?" My eyes narrowed at the silly question. Did he expect me to answer that? He looked from me to Chris before fixing his eyes on the floor. "I’m sorry, boss. I’ll do better."

"You had better not miss anything because I swear, if you do, I’ll slowly slice up your dick."

His eyes widened in fear, and he hurriedly bowed his head. "Yes, sir. I’ll keep that in mind." His voice shook as he replied.

"Boss, Cain has finished serving his punishment. Should we reinstate him as one of the pack warriors?"

My eyes shut slowly as I thought for a moment. "Reinstate him."

Indeed, that bastard was one of our best warriors in the pack. I can’t let my emotions cloud my judgment for now.

"But I don’t want to ever see him near my wife. So keep an eye on him."

"Yes, sir."

"And what about that woman?" I asked Dean, relaxing on the couch.

"She’s stable and is in the pack hospital."

"Did anything happen to Tara?" Chris blurted out, surprising me and Dean. Why were there worried lines etched across his forehead?

My eyes narrowed dangerously as I stood up, slowly walking towards him. I leaned over, meeting his eyes level. "I fucked her up because she dared mess with me," my eyes blazed red as I regarded Chris. "Do you fucking have a problem with that?"

"No, no, sir." His head shook dramatically. "I... I..."

"Shut the fuck up," I interjected, shutting him up promptly. "Don’t ever question my actions again."

"Yes, sir."

I sighed, turning my back on them. "Get out!"

They both scrambled out of the office before I lost it completely. I trusted Chris and Dean with my life, but lately, I’ve been getting this weird feeling about Chris ever since that woman appeared.

Worst is, I’m afraid to delve deeper into this matter because I’m worried about what I might discover. One thing is for sure, though: if either one of them ever betrays me, I’ll make them regret it in the most brutal way imaginable.
