Chapter 136: Warning Note.

**Isabella**

"Luna, please, you have to stay back and let us handle this," Chris urged with concern.

"No, Chris, I can’t," I replied firmly, shaking my head. "I can’t just stay here while the pack is under attack. It’s my responsibility to protect both the Bloody Skull pack and the Red Water pack."

Cross stepped forward, his brow furrowed with worry. "What about Nathan?"

"You’ll have to stay back with him, Cross."

"Isabella, I can’t let you go there while I remain here," Cross protested desperately.

"Cross, please," I implored. "We have to go back with Dean and Chris. I can’t leave Nathan here alone." 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

"And what about my brother?"

"I’ll need you to watch him," I sighed. "Remember, he said he’ll contact us soon, so you need to be here. Please, Cross."

He hesitated, his forehead creased in a frown, before finally nodding. "Alright, but please be careful. And take care of Lisa and Anna."

"We’ll do that," I promised, offering a reassuring smile. Then I turned to Dean and Chris. "Let’s get ready to move."

As we prepared to leave, I hugged Nathan tightly, kissing his forehead. "Be good for Uncle Cross, okay? Mommy will be back soon."

Nathan nodded, his little face serious as he clung to me. "Okay, Mommy."

We arrived at Upperville after a few hours’ drive and a flight on one of Razor’s private jets. The trip was quiet, filled with anticipation and concern. When we finally pulled up to the pack house, I felt a mixture of relief and anxiety.

As we entered the penthouse, Lisa’s eyes lit up immediately. "Isabella!" she cried, running to me and hugging me tightly.

"Lisa, are you alright?" I asked, pulling back to look her over.

"Yes, yes, I’m fine," she nodded. "Hello guys," she waved at both Dean and Chris, who acknowledged her with a slight nod.

"Where’s Anna?" I looked around, a bit worried that she didn’t come outside to greet us.

Lisa’s face fell and she averted her gaze. "Lisa, is anything wrong with Anna?"

"She’s lost, Isabella. She’s... she’s afraid, like literally shaking all over ever since we got the anonymous threat," Lisa explained, her voice trembling slightly.

"Oh my," I shook my head, the worry settling deeper into my chest.

"She thinks it might be Tom," Lisa added quietly.

"Tom?" Dean’s brows furrowed slightly. "Where is the note, please?"

Lisa led us to the study, where a crumpled piece of paper lay on the coffee table. Dean picked it up, scanning the message quickly. The note read:

**"Prepare yourselves because I will take what belongs to me. All of you will fall, until there’s nothing left of you."**

"It’s a threat all right," he said, passing the note to Chris, who also frowned as he read it.

"Anna has been in her room since we received this," Lisa’s voice shook. "She’s terrified, Isabella."

I nodded, taking a deep breath to steady myself. "We need to figure out what this means. Dean, Chris, keep an eye out for any unusual activity. We can’t take any chances."

They both nodded, determination set on their faces. "We’ll secure the perimeter and make sure no one gets close without us knowing," Dean said.

"Thank you." I turned my attention back to Lisa as Dean and Chris left to secure the perimeter. "I know you miss Cross, but I needed him to stay with Nathan," I said softly.

"Don’t worry about that," she replied, managing a small smile. "I’m happy he’s there with Nathan." Her smile quickly faded into a frown. "I heard from Cross about Alpha Razor."

My heart began to pound at the mention of his name. "I’m truly worried about him, Lisa. I’ve done everything, but he can’t even remember us."

"All these years, we thought he was dead, but he was actually alive?" she was in disbelief.

"Yes," I nodded, slumping my shoulders a bit. "The most annoying part is we don’t even know how he ended up being Gray, that annoying old man’s son."

"I understand how frustrating it must be... but with time, I’m sure he’ll remember."

"I hope so," I sighed. "Come on, let’s go see Anna."

We made our way to Anna’s room and knocked gently on the door. There was no reply. Concerned, Lisa and I exchanged a worried glance.

"Anna?" I called softly, knocking again. Still no response.

"We should check on her," Lisa suggested.

I nodded, and together we decided to open the door. The room was dimly quiet and Anna was sitting on the edge of the bed, her eyes red and puffy from crying.

"Anna, it’s us," I said softly, stepping inside with Lisa.

She looked up, her expression a mix of fear and relief. "Isabella...I’m so scared."

"I know, Anna," I said, sitting beside her and taking her hand in mine. "But we’re here for you. Nothing is going to happen to you."

Anna nodded, tears welling up in her eyes. "Thank you... both of you."

"We’ve increased security around the pack house," I told her, hoping to ease some of her fears. "Dean and Chris are making sure no one gets close without us knowing."

"That’s good," she whispered, her grip on my hand tightening. "But what if Tom really is behind this? What if he comes for me?"

"Then we’ll be ready for him," Lisa said firmly. "He won’t get past us."

I nodded in agreement. "We’ve faced threats before, Anna. We can handle this. But you need to stay strong."

Anna took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. "Okay. I’ll try."

"That’s all we ask," I said with a smile. "We’ll keep you safe . I promise."

I really felt for her. She had managed to move on from Tom after all his years of abuse. But now, just at the mention of his name, all the pain, shame, and scars had returned, threatening to ruin her. I truly hoped it wasn’t Tom... I hoped he was long dead.

Suddenly, a knock sounded urgently on the door. "Come in," I answered, and Chris walked inside, panting hard.

"What is it, Chris?" I asked, standing up and bracing myself for any news.

"We received another note, and this time it has a name on it."

"Who... who sent it?" Anna choked out, already shaking in fear.

Chris took a breath before his eyes moved to Anna, pitiful. "It was Tom. That bastard is still alive."

"Oh no, no..." Anna’s body convulsed before she collapsed on the floor.

"What the fuck, Anna?" I called out, horrified.
