All The Female Disciples Want To Kill Me-Chapter 548 - Three Hundred and Twenty-One_1
Faint starlight touched Li Zijun's face. Her bangs were adorned with water droplets that trickled, one by one, down to her collarbone.
Soaked, her clothes clung to her body. Her exquisite figure was tantalizingly visible, like a fruit half-peeled. Her jade-like arms were gently bent, her graceful posture fully displayed.
Her fair hands gently gathered her water-soaked hair behind her head. The drenched ruqun outlined her perfect figure, and she looked at Ji Nanjue, slightly embarrassed.
The clothes, not yet fully removed, clung tightly to her slender form, faintly revealing the color of her skin beneath. Her usually loose-fitting ruqun concealed much, but now her true form was finally visible.
Ji Nanjue looked at her with clear surprise. A playful smile touched her lips. "As expected of master and disciple," she said. "Even your lies are cut from the same mold..."
She paused briefly. "Never mind. Call me 'Sister' if you prefer. 'Shiniang' does sound rather old-fashioned."
Li Zijun said nothing. Beneath the water, her jade-like legs gently stirred the surface, splashing a few droplets. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
Then, with a light push of her arms, she stood up, completely bare. The water reached just past the tops of her thighs, revealing the lower half of her slender, flat waist, devoid of any excess flesh.
"Take off your clothes. You can't very well bathe with them on, can you?"
This ruqun had been with Li Zijun for who knows how long on their journey, though it bore no stains.
Li Zijun, somewhat shyly, removed the dress and placed it on the bank, then immediately sat down in the pool, hiding herself thoroughly.
Ji Nanjue did not mock her and instead sat down beside her.
The air was somewhat heavy. The time just before rain always felt particularly restless.
Her small hands gently scooped up water, letting it splash down, before she suddenly asked, "You've only seen him a few times. How can you be so certain of your feelings?"
"At your age, it's normal to admire someone, but judging by your actions, you don't seem like an impulsive person."
"I'm quite curious. Can you share your thoughts with me?"
She paused, feeling her question was indeed a bit pointed. Ji Nanjue then added with a smile, "Of course, it's alright if you don't want to say..."
As Ji Nanjue spoke, her eyes remained fixed on Li Zijun.
"My thoughts, you ask?" Li Zijun lightly pursed her lips, not looking at Ji Nanjue, and just murmured softly.
Staring into the somewhat dark waters, she pondered for a moment, then said slowly, "Does liking someone necessarily require reasons?"
"Isn't it that at a certain moment, because of something that deeply stirs the heart, that person unknowingly finds a place within it?"
"Perhaps it's just a glance, or a single gesture."
Ji Nanjue was taken aback. Listening to Li Zijun's voice, which held a touch of sadness—though the tone was very gentle—she could somehow detect a great deal of distress in it.
Then Ji Nanjue pulled Li Zijun tightly into her embrace, pressing her cheek against hers. "Love at first sight?"
Perhaps I would have previously scoffed at this phrase, Ji Nanjue thought, dismissing it as mere fancy. The idea that two people could affirm their feelings for each other with just one look, in my mind, meant only one thing: lusting after the other's beauty. Yet now, my heart is gradually coming to accept this term. My life path and Su Bei's always seemed to align inadvertently. That time we returned from the brink of death, the bond forged from enduring hardship together was naturally profound. Perhaps even before that night, his image was already imprinted on my heart; it's just that my long-sealed heart had never acknowledged it.
"That's true, I suppose," Li Zijun said with a wry smile. She's misunderstood me, she thought. How could my feelings for Su Bei be as understated as I just described? It took nearly a century of growing together for me to be sure of my heart.
"Sister Nan Ji, Zi Jun is feeling a bit cold…" Li Zijun hugged her arms to herself, blinking as she looked at Ji Nanjue.
"Go on back then," Ji Nanjue said. "Master... no, Sister will stay here alone for a while."
Ji Nanjue smiled gently at her, her heart filled with complex emotions.
Ultimately, I am a woman, Ji Nanjue mused. Even though I know Su Bei and I can never be public, I still feel a sense of rejection towards any woman who wants to take even a sliver of his tenderness from me. What's more, this woman is his Disciple... It feels wrong, both emotionally and rationally.
A strange thought surfaced in Ji Nanjue's mind: his Disciple, and my own master... with me in between? What a complicated relationship... like three generations under one roof, isn't it?
It's all Su Dudu's fault.
There's no right or wrong in love. If there's any fault, it all stems from that philandering Casanova. If he hadn't sown his wild oats everywhere, how could he have incurred so many emotional debts?
He's certainly having a good time...
Li Zijun waved her hand a few times in front of Ji Nanjue's face. Snapping back to reality, Ji Nanjue playfully tapped Li Zijun's delicate nose and said with a smile, "You've worn that dress for too long. If you don't mind, wear my dress for now."
Her hand pointed towards the white gauzy dress on the bank.
Li Zijun blinked, then smiled sweetly at Ji Nanjue.
With a soft rustle, she put on the dress and walked towards the Daoist Temple.
Ji Nanjue watched Li Zijun's receding figure and sighed softly.
