All My Professions Have Divine-Level Talents-Chapter 41: Ten Quests
’Weather forecasts, Demon tides... more new terms I’ve never heard of.’
’I still don’t understand how Demons come into existence.’
’I’ll have to brush up on this subject when I have the time.’
Lu Cang replied with a bright smile, "I was just planning on accepting a few commissions to subjugate some Demons."
Upon hearing Lu Cang’s response, Celia beamed. "It’s wonderful that you’re willing to help, Little Lu Cang! Otherwise, with the Demons running rampant, we’d have to seal off the town and forbid anyone from going out while we wait for assistance."
"That would be a huge headache for the workers who want to gather herbs and mine ore during the Harvest Moon."
Aside from those who hunt Demons for rewards like Adventurers, there are also people who choose non-combat Professions, making a living through farming, herb gathering, Forging, mining, and so on.
Normally, designated areas outside of town are patrolled regularly...
If they encounter weaker Low Tier Demons, the patrol teams will take care of them on the spot.
If they encounter a more troublesome Demon, they follow procedure and request instructions. Depending on the situation, they either subjugate it directly or hand the task over to the Adventurer’s Guild to issue a commission.
The Adventurer’s Guild and the official patrol teams work in cooperation.
Unless the situation is extremely urgent, the officially enlisted High Level experts won’t make a move.
It’s basically like they outsource the work, handling only the core issues themselves.
"Celia, how many commissions can I accept?"
Celia answered, "Generally, a Level 2 Adventurer can only accept two commissions at once."
"But these are special circumstances, and you’re a member of a Legendary Level adventurer team, Little Lu Cang."
"How many did you want to accept?"
Since Celia had answered him that way, Lu Cang didn’t hold back. He simply swept his finger across a row of commission notices.
"These nine."
"And... this one."
A row of commissions to hunt Tier Three Lord Level Demons, plus one commission to deal with a Demon Beast Community.
Even Celia’s lips twitched slightly.
’What an outrageous request.’
"Is that okay?" Lu Cang asked, turning his head.
Celia pressed her temples.
’I know Lu Cang is Iz’s apprentice and that he’s very strong...’
’...but letting an eight-year-old child, a Level 2 Mage, accept so many difficult commissions at once...’
"Hmm... Let me think."
Celia contemplated for a moment.
She let out a long breath.
"You can."
Lu Cang broke into a cheerful smile. "Thanks, Celia."
"Celia, could you post a commission for me?"
"It’s the same as yesterday, but this time I’m recruiting Level 3 Adventurers."
Celia asked, "Are you recruiting Adventurers to protect you? Hmm, if you’re taking on that many commissions, I could certainly help you scout some candidates."
Lu Cang posted the commission, just like he did yesterday.
[Hiring: Level 3 Healing Masters, Defenders, and Gatherers from different teams.
Defenders have the same requirement: must know the Shared Damage skill.
Task: Speed-clear nine Tier Three Demon Lords in a single day.
Reward: 1 gold coin per kill.]
After posting the commission, Lu Cang wasn’t in a hurry.
He simply found an empty seat in the Guild hall and started to read.
About half an hour later, an Adventurer approached him.
’A new face.’
Lu Cang sized up the black-haired Healing Mage with twin ponytails standing before him.
’Most Healing Mages are female. That’s not too surprising.’
’It’s not that male Healers don’t exist; I just haven’t met any yet.’
"You... want to hire Tier Three Adventurers?"
Looking at this tender-faced eight-year-old, Luo Si couldn’t help but feel skeptical.
"Mhm, that’s me."
’Alright then.’
’Seems she doesn’t know who I am.’
’Explaining is such a pain. It really would be better to have some fame. Otherwise, people doubt everything I do.’
"I’m Izparut’s apprentice."
Lu Cang wracked his brain and finally came up with what he thought was the most effective explanation.
However...
...all he got in return was her roaring with laughter.
"Haha, hahahaha..."
"Everyone knows Iz has tons of apprentices. Listen, kiddo... adventuring isn’t something for a child your age."
Luo Si shook her head, pressing a hand to her forehead.
She walked over to Celia, apparently to complain about something.
She threw her hands up, sighing and shaking her head at Celia with a look of disappointment.
Celia simply covered her mouth, chuckling as she explained.
Then, Lu Cang watched her argue with Celia for a moment.
She glanced back at him, her eyes wide with surprise.
Lu Cang smiled and gave her a peace sign.
She turned back to Celia.
Celia smiled, nodded, and appeared to say something more.
Again, she turned to look at Lu Cang.
This time, she looked as if she’d seen a ghost.
Her face was a mask of pure shock.
"No way!!!"
"Is this kid really the greatest magical genius since Iz?!!"
’She’s more shocked than I expected.’
’I thought she’d be surprised, but not *this* surprised.’
Lu Cang winced, covering his ears slightly.
Her shriek echoed throughout the entire Adventurer’s Guild.
’Did she have to be that loud...? Loud, flighty people are so much trouble.’
Once her shock subsided, Luo Si walked back and grabbed Lu Cang’s small hand.
"Kid, I was blind to your greatness! Please, I’m begging you, take me with you!"
"I’m completely broke!"
Celia followed behind Luo Si, approaching with an apologetic, wry smile.
"My apologies, Little Lu Cang."
"Luo Si might be a bit of a spendthrift, but she’s actually a very capable Healing Mage."
"I was the one who recommended your party to her."
’Oh?’
’Talk about a complete 180.’
’Well, since Celia says she’s skilled, I have no reason to be picky. As for being broke... everyone’s been there.’
’As long as her skills are up to par, it’s fine.’
...
It took a considerable amount of time to form the party.
After some effort, he finally assembled the group. Lu Cang stuck to his requirement that they all be from different parties.
’This seemingly minor requirement actually had a hidden purpose.’
’Namely, that none of them knew each other well.’
’If I’d grouped up with people who were already on the same team, they might collude behind my back.’
’For instance... if they got any funny ideas, they could plot to take me out.’
’You can never be too careful.’
’Even though I try to treat people with kindness, I still have to guard against the risk of being schemed against.’
’Of course, I won’t go overboard guarding against every tiny possibility. There’s a difference between being cautious and being paranoid.’
「Aboard the Dragon Rhinoceros Carriage—」
"Hmm... so, you’re all Adventurers who came to Raine Town alone, haven’t found a suitable party yet, and were looking to team up temporarily."
Lu Cang confirmed.
Luo Si nodded. "Mhm, that’s right."
The other two nodded as well.
’Compared to Tier Two Adventurers, their gear as Tier Three Adventurers is obviously much more refined.’
Luo Si was a [Level 3 Healing Master / Level 1 Divination Master / Level 1 Alchemist].
Meizer was a [Level 3 Gatherer / Level 2 Archer / Level 1 Healing Mage].
Trende was a [Level 3 Defender / Level 1 Blacksmith / Level 1 Gatherer].
’There’s some Profession overlap. Meizer is even a part-time Level 1 Healing Mage.’
’The Professions of Level 3 adventurers are clearly much more diverse than those at Levels 1 and 2. They’re already starting to hold three Professions at once.’
’Looks like I should start thinking about my second Profession, too.’
