After work, start to speedrun the other world-Chapter 493 - 193: The Sealing Location of the God of Omniscience
"That’s really great," Michael said with a hearty smile, but he soon noticed a hesitant expression on Ahtal’s face.
He instinctively asked,
"What’s wrong?"
"If I really want to recreate the world in the ashes," Xi Mu’s expression seemed a bit odd as he eyed Michael, who could certainly be called a beauty.
The atmosphere subtly shifted.
"Suit yourself, as long as you’re happy," Michael sighed. He guessed what was on Ahtal’s mind—it was probably about changing his gender, which to him, was an insignificant matter.
After all, he didn’t believe that the person Ahtal created was himself, but if it could make up for Ahtal’s regrets, that was a good thing nonetheless.
As for what Ahtal wanted to do with the recreated version of himself.
That was not his business to interfere with.
This world had many people wanting to redefine his gender, and he had even seen someone create a doll just like him.
"Forget it then," Xi Mu said with a lack of enthusiasm, pouring himself a large drink, "Changing your gender wouldn’t give me any fun reactions to watch."
"Is this the influence of your malevolent nature from the King of Ash?" Michael laughed heartily, then picked up the bottle and toasted with Ahtal, carelessly pouring a large drink for himself, the liquid spilling from his mouth down to his pale neck.
"I hope that after the world turns to ashes, you can revert to your true nature, and not truly become the King of Ash as people perceive you."
Xi Mu: "..."
"Mist is waiting for you to say goodbye." Michael set down the bottle, pulled out the Splitting Demon’s long knife that was stuck beside Ahtal, held the blade to his own neck, "If this world doesn’t burn to ash, I hope we can get together to chat."
As he finished speaking, the blade slid across his throat, and blazing flames immediately engulfed his body into ashes. The sharp Splitting Demon’s long knife circled in the air and plunged into the ground.
Xi Mu pulled back his eyes that seemed to blaze like red jade. Since Michael chose to end his own life, he was willing to help him end it quickly, and incidentally harvest some experience points.
The front of the gate was eerily quiet.
After his arrival, the entire Magic Kingdom had fallen into unprecedented panic, a panic stemming from the certainty of death.
Now, being personally killed by Ahtal and having his soul sent to Hell, or struggling for a few more days and being burned to ashes by the Ash Fire.
Either choice led to the worst possible outcome.
Xi Mu rose and left the grand library’s gate. At this point, finding someone was very simple for him; all he needed to do was to make up a set of rules about searching for someone in the Kingdom of Hearts, and then deploy them to find anyone.
He came out onto the street.
The once bustling street was charred to a crisp, scorched corpses visible every few steps, and the rare survivors looked desperate, leaning against the charred remnants, their eyes vacant as if they had become puppets.
"Lord Ahtal, you’ve finally arrived," a familiar voice said, making Xi Mu stop in his tracks. A girl with plump white legs hurried over, pushed up her glasses, masking the fear and panic in her eyes.
Xi Mu said, "Laila, you’re still alive."
Laila’s expression stiffened slightly, having not feared to the point of taking her own life. She would try to stay alive as long as possible in case the situation turned around, a possibility she was very clear was unlikely.
"I don’t really want to die just yet."
"Is that so," Xi Mu said indifferently, then passed by Laila. Though he was rather interested in Laila’s plump legs, he was more eager to see Mist, the woman wholly devoted to protecting him.
Laila didn’t look back and placed her hand on her chest,
"Lord Ahtal, can you win?"
"Now, I am invincible." Xi Mu waved his hand without turning to face Laila, his voice filled with absolute confidence. Now that he had embarked on the path of the King of Ash, plus the cheat-like power as a player, even the version of himself from the last cycle couldn’t have beaten him.
And Laila found some solace in his words. If Ahtal could defeat the God of Omniscience, then there was a chance she could be revived. This spurred her to make the decision to... take her own life, give up her own life, and go to Hell, waiting for the arrival of a new world.
...
...
At the edge of a lake,
Xi Mu looked at Mist, who was kneeling by the water’s edge, and naturally sat down beside her, then stuck the Splitting Demon’s long knife into the ground.
The current world’s temperature had soared to over a hundred degrees, enough to kill a person from heat alone, except for a few powerful beings or those possessing rare magical artifacts.
But that was just about surviving; they would still die as time went on.
Now, the lake here was still intact due to Mist using the powers of the Chaos Witch to isolate the terrifying heat from the outside world.
Otherwise, the water would have already evaporated.
"Do you want to go to Hell, or would you like Death Witch herself to collect your soul?" Xi Mu asked, and then Mist turned to meet his gaze, their eyes aligning perfectly.
"Can’t I just give my soul to you?" Mist asked. Xi Mu paused for a moment, then gently shook his head,
"Anything close to me, including weapons, can’t exist for long. I can’t protect your soul."
Mist looked down, disappointed: "Is that so."
Meanwhile, the Splitting Demon, turned into a long knife, widened his eyes in shock. He had thought that as a weapon, he could sneak into the Ash Kingdom. Turns out, he was also destined to be burned to ashes, with no chance of survival.
