Chapter 420: Chapter 158 Cold World

Thud.

Thud.

Thud.

Xi Mu stepped forward, crushing the broken ice beneath his feet, his body covered in red scales from which wisps of black flames burst forth, igniting his entire form. Even his silver armor was stained black, giving off an almost suffocating sense of oppression.

The Ice and Snow Goddess, seeing this, showed no fear. Her silver hair fluttered, and tiny blue points of light danced around her, emitting a chill that seemed to freeze all creation.

A demon hot enough to burn everything to ashes.

A goddess cold enough to freeze everything solid.

Anyone witnessing this scene could confirm that these beings could not coexist, not just in identity but in the very nature of their powers.

What followed was extremely dangerous.

The Messenger God silently retreated, his body fading step by step, about to vanish on the spot, with no intention of helping the Ice and Snow Goddess against Ahtal. It’s not that he was cowardly, but simply that he wasn’t suited for combat.

It was better to let the gods hidden in the shadows assist the Ice and Snow Goddess.

"Are you fleeing?" Xi Mu suddenly turned his head and asked the Messenger God, who was about to disappear, instantly making the atmosphere subtly tense.

The Messenger God’s expression froze.

The Ice and Snow Goddess also subconsciously looked toward the Messenger God, then raised her hand to brush back her silver hair, saying, "He only witnessed the outcome of the battle and felt there was no need to stay and watch further."

Xi Mu sneered, "So he has already seen that you are all going to die?"

The Ice and Snow Goddess looked displeased, but she didn’t bother to argue with Ahtal, as that would be pointless.

"Then I’ll give you a chance." Xi Mu stretched out his palm and then suddenly clenched it, the black flames in his palm exploding, "Stop the blizzard, and I might let you live."

Such an arrogant guy.

The Messenger God thought this but, considering the tough backers behind Ahtal, felt that he indeed had the capital to be arrogant.

"That’s something you need to discuss with the Ice and Snow Goddess. I’m just a messenger; I haven’t done anything bad, there’s no need to kill me too, right?"

He maintained a smile, stepping back little by little, his figure fading into the void and disappearing completely.

Being enemies with a Demon like Ahtal carried a risk of death.

Xi Mu withdrew his gaze, no longer paying attention to the Messenger God—the guy who didn’t hesitate to flee for his life would be dealt with later.

"Of course, the blizzard can stop." The Ice and Snow Goddess spoke in a cold voice, her slender legs moving toward Ahtal, "But only if you can kill me."

"Good." Xi Mu wasted no words. Flames spilled from between his teeth, and opening his mouth, he spat out a black sun, clashing with the cold wind lifted by the palm of the Ice and Snow Goddess.

"Boom!" A castle built of ice collapsed in the moment, as if a bomb had been planted inside, pausing a powerful shockwave that tore the earth into starkly different colors—one side as dark as ink, emitting a heat that could evaporate the land, and the other as white as snow, emitting a cold that could freeze everything.

"Eeek!" The Goddess of Summer held down her skirt to prevent it from flipping up, her body blown into the sky by the cold wind, "What on earth just happened?"

She had been resting in the castle and in a blink, was blown away by the cold wind, totally bewildered by the situation.

But soon she understood the cause, for into her view, filled initially with only blinding snow, burst a humanoid dragon enveloped in burning black flames, wielding a great sword alight with black flames, smiling at her with a terrifying grin.

Immediately, the sword swung down, and the chest of the Goddess who governed summer burst into black flames, her body turning to ash in an instant.

"Ahtal!" A sweet yet furious voice rang out. Xi Mu looked toward the source of the sound and saw the Ice and Snow Goddess standing on the ground, her sapphire-like eyes filled with murderous intent.

"Ha~ Don’t give me that look. You’ve killed many more times than I have." Chi Mu sneered, then without hesitation exhaled a Dragon Breath, the fiery black flames piercing the sky, striking where the Ice and Snow Goddess stood and causing a violent explosion.

Layers of black flames shot up into the sky.

And amongst those soaring flames, a splendid ice flower blossomed, pushing back against the black fire as it grew.

Xi Mu took this opportunity to go hunt other goddesses, to prevent the Goddess of Autumn and Goddess of Spring from interfering with the battle.

His body vanished in a sparkle of starlight.

"In the next life, don’t hold us back." Xi Mu’s figure suddenly appeared before a beauty with orange hair, and as their eyes met, he unhesitatingly chopped down with the Great Sword of Death, turning the Goddess who governed autumn to ash. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

The entire process lasted less than a breath. Xi Mu kicked off the ground, rocketing like a burning meteor toward the nearby Goddess of Spring.

"Don’t come any closer!" The Goddess of Spring waved her hands in panic. The ground beneath her trembled, and thick roots burst forth like waves rushing towards Ahtal, trying to push back the approaching demon.

"Boom!" The fiery black flames exploded, instantly burning the oncoming roots to ash, while the Goddess of Spring saw Ahtal take out the Sword of Light, swinging it down towards her forcefully.

A torrent of light surged, flooding the vision of the Goddess of Spring in an instant, bringing her consciousness to a sudden halt.

"Sister!" A melodiously mournful voice came, tugging at the heartstrings of anyone who heard it, but Xi Mu’s first reaction upon hearing it was to exhale a Dragon Breath toward the origin of the sound, blocking the oncoming cold wave.
