After work, start to speedrun the other world-Chapter 304 - 109: Host, This Witch Is Easier to Conquer!
"Is it because of the Witch of Death’s power that he has a stronger restraint against the Ancient Dragon?" The Negation Demon propped his chin, revealing a reflective expression.
Upon hearing this, the White-haired Lolita pursed her lips. Her ruby-like eyes reflected an almost mad vision: revival of Ancient Dragons, long dead, rushing towards Ahtal, only to be slain in an instant, carrying the black flames of a thousand deaths at Ahtal’s feet, becoming part of the mountain of burning bones.
As for Ahtal, he stood atop a bone mountain ablaze with black flames, facing the challenge of the Bone Dragons, slaying the Bone Dragons as they came in waves.
"Princess, you have spent some time with that man," the Negation Demon turned and addressed the White-haired Lolita:
"What is your assessment of him?"
They had already investigated information about Ahtal, but after all, since they hadn’t personally interacted with him, the information naturally had its inaccuracies.
Caught slightly off guard, the White-haired Lolita exchanged a glance with the elegant Demon beside her, seeming to recognize this Demon.
However, she didn’t immediately inquire.
"Ahtal is a gentle and good man, I guess," she said, somewhat insincerely, causing the Negation Demon to reveal a subtle expression.
"Did that man threaten you?"
"No," the White-haired Lolita gently shook her head, recalling how Ahtal had held her, promising to bring her soul out of Hell.
A gentle smile appeared on her delicate and pretty face.
"Inside, that man is kind-hearted," she said.
"...Is that so." The Negation Demon nodded lightly, casting his gaze towards the battlefield to observe Ahtal’s every move. Beside him, the White-haired Lolita turned her head away slightly, revealing a somewhat guilty expression.
She had indeed been threatened by Ahtal, and her initial assessment of him was as a conspirator intending to overturn the world; only recently had she revised her opinion, thinking that Ahtal wasn’t such a bad man after all.
So, she wasn’t exactly lying.
And at that moment,
"Snap!" Another snap of the fingers, and balls of fire fell from the sky. They were creatures unlike any existing species, seemingly made of flame and stone, that transformed into towering fire giants upon hitting the ground, charging at Ahtal.
"Artificial Demons." The Negation Demon supplied the answer, "Just as the Monster Witch can create different monsters, we can naturally create corresponding species as well, but their stability and reproductive capabilities are still not as effective as those of the Monster Witch."
He explained while the White-haired Lolita watched.
"Essentially, it’s no different than the Alchemist crafting automatons; they don’t have reproductive abilities and are just beings created by technology and materials, theoretical lifeforms designed to enable living in the Ash Kingdom."
"To live in the Ash Kingdom?" The White-haired Lolita froze, she of course knew of the Ash Kingdom’s existence, described in books as the world that would burn to ashes at the far distant future of Ragnarok.
However, how could any life exist in such a world?
"They are merely theoretical constructs," the Negation Demon shook his head gently, looking through his monocle at Ahtal using the Ash Fire to slay the Artificial Demons one by one. Before the flames that could burn away the world, the Artificial Demons, created for this purpose, were all burned to ash.
"To survive in a world with nothing, one must be self-sufficient and also evade the gaze of the King of Ash," he said.
"That’s basically impossible," the White-haired Lolita responded. In the far distant future, the King of Ash would be a presence alongside, or even surpassing, the God of Omniscience.
To evade the gaze of such a being was virtually impossible.
The atmosphere fell silent.
The Negation Demon shook his head softly, his face revealing a sense of melancholy as he whispered, "That’s why we cannot allow the King of Ash to come into being, or we will all die."
The White-haired Lolita lowered her eyelids, a contemplative look forming on her lovely face as she turned to the Negation Demon and asked, "Do you want to evade the inevitable Ragnarok that is to come?"
"Who would want to die?" The Negation Demon replied, admitting that he did, in fact, wish to avoid the inevitable Ragnarok, for humans with their short lifespans, Ragnarok had no relevance, but for Demons with lives that had no end in sight, Ragnarok was a very real threat.
Now they could avoid the God of Omniscience’s pursuit and judgment through exploiting glitches, but there was no such way to escape Ragnarok.
"Boom!" A fiery blaze erupted; Xi Mu drew out the Sword of Light that had been plunged into an Artificial Demon, turning in the air, his sword swept, cleaving through the head of an attacking Artificial Demon.
As he landed, the battle came to an end.
Black and crimson flames intertwined, covering every corner of the battlefield. He shook the Great Sword of Death and walked towards the Negation Demon, taking several potions to replenish his Magic Power, making sure he could recover quickly.
There were a few more fights to come, and they wouldn’t be as playful as this one.
"True to the name Ahtal, a remarkable combat talent indeed," the Negation Demon applauded, watching Ahtal emerge from the flames with an appreciative smile, "If you were to become a Demon, I imagine you’d be quite a formidable one as well."
