After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World-Chapter 1887: New Entries
Meanwhile, Cardinal and the others had also passed through the test. Sadly, half of them had to go through the quarantine after some virus had been detected on them. It was either that they were carriers or asymptomatic.
If this happened before, they would’ve been terrified. Now...even if they were feeling a little scared, it felt like everything would be okay in the end.
Cardinal, Wolfe, and a few others got the ’pass’ and walked by the annoying nobleman and saw the same bright and lively scenery at the same time he did.
The lustrous young lad happily toddled and offered some ’free taste’ to them too!
They recognized them as a strawberry tart and lemonade, respectively. The tart was cut into tiny pieces the size of a fingernail, while the lemonade was placed in recyclable shot-sized cups.
They hurriedly took the samples and felt the delicious fruity sweetness of the jam, combined with the lovely texture of the pastry itself! For the lemonade, it seemed like there was a mix of other plants here, adding herbiness to the zest!
While they were in a daze, the nobleman appeared next to them. "Where can we buy this?!" he asked, and the young lad happily guided him to the stall a few meters away.
Cardinal’s eyes followed them and saw that even right at the entrance, there were lines and lines of stalls, a small market, and other things like actual buildings and transportation stops.
In the stalls, people sold various snacks and drinks at affordable prices, all of which would’ve cost a fortune to taste back in their village. One had to remember that the food along the entrances tended to be more expensive than the rest, but this was already super affordable if they compared it to what they were used to!
Here, they could eat whatever they wanted with a bit of money. Seeing how much markup the village Lord put, it was clear just how greedy the bastard and most of his underlings were.
There, they had to risk their lives and limbs for a single portion of instant noodles. Here, that same amount of money could buy them several full meals!
The next thing they knew, their arms were already full of stuff they bought unconsciously. Their hands were full of skewers, too, and there were some random sweet bread parked in their mouths.

Other than them, Alterra had gained a large number of refugees and migrants after the Fire Plague ended.
A pair of these...was actually Kimmy’s parents. They had been separated and had their own lovers, but they both had their favourite spots and encountered each other with said lovers
They seemed to have developed a taste for certain places while together. Even when they were together with other people, they ended up thinking of the same place to go have fun.
Then the man’s lover turned into a zombie and had to be killed at some point, while the woman’s lover died after they arrived in Xeno, so the old couple ended up being together again.
All this time, they had lived in Guardian Village North. They moved to Alterra with a caravan, which had a relatively fixed schedule twice a month.
They were lucky to have this place as their one and only location so far, so the various jewelry and the like they managed to hoard back in Terran sustained them until now, though they naturally still had to go to battles and the like, otherwise they wouldn’t have been able to live decently for over two years.
The thing was, when the apocalypse happened, they were in a mall. There was plenty of food, jewelry, and the like, but there were also plenty of rivals!
In the end, other than some food they fought tooth and nail for, they filled up the rest of their spaces with some useless stuff that no one wanted.
Rather, some could’ve been useful if the challenge had remained a zombie apocalypse, but they were rather useless in this world.
Who would want walkie-talkies in a place without signal? Who would want nail guns in a place with no nails? Et cetera.
Until now.
Alterra seemed to be buying off Terran things, and the price was not low! If it were something that could not be produced here, or was difficult to produce, then the price was even higher!
So here they were, trading, and they indeed gained quite a bit of money and even contribution points!
What they did not expect was to see their daughter there!
What’s more, they found out that she was once the Lord, albeit of another village, and even urged her to take it back.
The girl just looked at them in distaste, dismissing those thoughts with decisiveness that was as sharp as the heels she used to wear.
"That part of our lives is over," she said. "Calm down your thoughts.
"Do you want to meet your granddaughter or not?"
...
Another group was from a village near Calma village, who went here along with a caravan from Voumi Town. This wasn’t usually in that caravan’s route, but it so happened that they rerouted to avoid a large beast mob that the scouts detected early on using advanced scopes.
They ended up passing through this associated village, and many people who had always been curious about Alterra took the chance to come along with them.
With this group was a woman named Williana. She was once a very pretty woman, though traces of stress and haggardness made her skin rough. She had been Tilda’s best friend before, a lifetime ago, back in Terran.
They had butted heads with Althea several times when she was employed in the same work place. In fact, a lot of Tilda’s conflicts at work with Althea were egged on by this woman.
By chance, Williana saw Althea when she was making rounds. When she saw her looking so glamorous and even more beautiful than before, all the bitterness seemed to spill out and blacken her already dark heart.
"You’re staring at the woman so intensely. Do you know her?" her lover asked, though his sticky eyes also traced over Althea’s figure. Williana saw this and caused her anger to explode.
"Her? Her name is Althea," she spat, leveling her voice—which had been shaking in annoyance. "I used to work with her.
"Tsk, she often gets good treatment, got promoted quickly, you know. She’s young and pretty, and very...active...what can’t she have? The bosses are men, too."
This was totally disregarding Althea’s capability and implying that she had gotten her benefits through her body.
Someone at the side couldn’t help but turn to her, expression seeming to be eager to hear what she would say next. Williana assumed it was to get more gossip, and she happily splashed black water.
She told them that Althea had been quite close with several bosses, and even did a lot of overtime work. She also got a lot of admirers, and they definitely had something to do with her quick rise.
She even implied that Althea left the company, not to build her own, but because she was caught by the wife of the boss, causing a scandal.
She happily chattered like this, not seeing the increasingly odd look on the other’s face.
Later, when she was happily shopping in the market with her boyfriend, guards approached her with solemn expressions on their faces.
"Ten people reported you for libel. Please come with us for the investigation."
