After rejecting my celebrity husband-Chapter 121: You’re Ruthless
"Narcissist, who wants to hug you anyway!"
"Then what are you doing right now?" he retorted.
Luo Xiaoqian looked down and saw his chest. She had been so focused on snatching the manuscript that she hadn’t noticed how close she had gotten to his chest, and one of her hands was still damnably wrapped halfway around his waist.
With her face heating up, she hastily withdrew her arm and took two steps back.
"I don’t want it anymore, okay?"
"Not okay!" Leng Zimo sat back at the piano and commanded imperiously, "Two choices: one, kiss me, or two, heat up the chicken soup in the kitchen, serve two bowls on the dining table, and let them cool down!"
"I choose the second one!" Luo Xiaoqian immediately chose the second option without hesitation.
As she walked into the kitchen clutching the manuscript, she carefully placed it in a safe spot, turned on the stove, poured the chicken soup from the thermal pot into the pot to heat it up, and then ladled out two bowls, which she brought out to the dining table to cool properly.
When she returned to the piano room, she stopped at a distance, her gaze fixated on the music sheet in his hands, "Your chicken soup is ready!"
"Go upstairs and wait for me!" Leng Zimo played a measure on the sheet music with one hand.
She walked over and extended her right hand toward him, "The manuscript!"
Leng Zimo lifted his face from the manuscript and glanced sidelong at her, "Did I ever say I would give it back to you?"
Luo Xiaoqian was taken aback.
It seemed he really hadn’t said that.
So what he had just mentioned wasn’t the condition for getting the music back?!
"Leng Zimo, you..." She instinctively cursed out loud but, seeing his eyes quickly grow cold, she forcefully swallowed the word "bastard" that had almost slipped out, "You’re ruthless!"
Turning around, she slammed the door behind her.
Seeing the chicken soup on the dining table, she turned around and walked over to it.
"Still want to drink the chicken soup? Dream on!"
Picking up the bowls, she turned to take them to the kitchen to pour out, but she stopped after two steps.
Such good stuff, it would be a shame to waste it!
Upon reflection, she lifted the chicken soup to her lips and gulped it down greedily, then did the same with the other bowl. Looking at the two empty bowls on the table, she raised her eyebrows triumphantly and walked upstairs with long strides.
After a bath, she put on a special set of pajamas that wrapped her up tightly, then grabbed her koala plushy and climbed into bed.
An entire day of rehearsals had left her exhausted, and within moments, she had fallen deeply asleep.
Downstairs, Leng Zimo left the piano room and glanced at the two empty bowls on the dining table, a smile curving his lips. He then went back to the piano room, shut the door tightly, sat down at the desk, and once again looked at the music scores on the stand intently.
...
...
In her single apartment, Shen Xinyi sat in her room holding her laptop and typed a string of text, then hit Enter.
The computer screen displayed a Baidu search page with the question of how to sabotage a piano.
The answers that came up were all different: some suggested pouring water, others recommended loosening the screws on the action...
Shen Xinyi thought carefully and felt that none of these methods were suitable.
If the piano was broken to begin with, Luo Xiaoqian would surely notice, and then EM would certainly find her a new piano to replace it. The best scenario would be if it suddenly broke while she was playing it.
But while this sounded easy, how to actually make it happen was the question!
Unable to think of a solution, she casually moved her laptop aside, jumped off the bed, sat in front of the mirror, and took her make-up bag to start removing her makeup. Her gaze caught the sight of the eyebrow trimmer in the bag, and a light flickered in Shen Xinyi’s eyes.
Picking up the trimmer and looking at its sharp blade, she let out a sinister chuckle.
"Luo Xiaoqian, you’re done for!"
