After Rebirth, the Celebrity Daughter is the Medical Expert!-Chapter 216 - 143: Second Update
This Saturday.
Ning Youguang woke up early in the morning and discovered something bad happened.
For some unknown reason, her refrigerator seemed to be broken.
When Shi Wangyue video-called her, she was staring blankly at the pitch-black refrigerator.
On the other side of the video, Shi Wangyue was already sitting upright at his desk.
With glasses on his prominent nose and a smooth-lined face that exuded a very rational and clear gentleness.
Judging by his posture, he might have been working for quite some time already.
Ning Youguang glanced at him without speaking.
"What are you doing?" Seeing Ning Youguang absent-mindedly glance at him and then just show a pointed chin in the video, Shi Wangyue was a bit puzzled.
"Thinking about how to deal with the fridge." Holding her phone, still squatting in front of the fridge, Ning Youguang stared at it.
"What happened to the fridge?" Shi Wangyue asked in surprise.
"The fridge is broken." Ning Youguang sighed, glancing down at him.
Perhaps her bewildered gaze when she glanced down at Shi Wangyue was just too cute.
He was momentarily taken aback and then laughed, "Get a new one." He gently suggested, "Don’t be upset."
Ning Youguang pouted, "I’m not really upset, it’s just a bit troublesome. The fridge must have broken last night; everything inside is starting to melt."
Shi Wangyue paused and said, "I’ll order a new fridge for you right now, express delivery."
He immediately opened an e-commerce app and began looking at fridges, "Does Youyou want a big one or a small one?"
He asked while browsing fridges.
Ning Youguang was startled by his incredible initiative, "Wait, you don’t have to buy it for me, I can buy it myself."
"Sorry, I’ve already bought the fridge." Shi Wangyue looked slightly troubled, "Does Youyou want me to cancel the order now?"
No point in canceling once it’s bought.
And since she was busy today, it saved her the hassle.
"Forget it, don’t cancel it, just have them deliver it." She lightly furrowed her brows, sighing, "Mainly because I have a session appointment later this morning, and I’m afraid I can’t handle the fridge contents quickly enough."
That’s what she found troublesome.
Shi Wangyue chuckled softly after hearing this, "No worries, go about your work, I’ll go over to your place now, and while you’re working, I’ll sort out the fridge in your dorm."
Ning Youguang laughed, "Kid, are you Doraemon or something? So capable."
Hearing this long-lost, familiar nickname.
As Shi Wangyue was shutting down his computer, there was a fleeting brilliance in his deep eyes, like a meteor streaking through the night sky.
"Compared to Doraemon, this kid might still need some effort."
Seeing him so humorous was rare, and Ning Youguang was amused by him.
The two of them laughed for a while, and Shi Wangyue got up, gently reminding her, "I’ll change clothes and head to you now, you go outside for breakfast, don’t go hungry, I’ll call you when I arrive."
...
Forty minutes later.
Just enough time for Ning Youguang to finish freshening up and go to the school cafeteria to have a bowl of steaming small wontons.
After she finished eating the wontons and shuffled back to the dormitory in her slippers, she saw Shi Wangyue, wearing casual clothes and exuding youthful energy, already waiting at her dorm door.
By his feet were two large bags.
"Didn’t you say you’d call me when you arrived? Why didn’t you?" Ning Youguang dragged herself to him.
Shi Wangyue chuckled lightly, "I knew you’d gone for breakfast, so I figured you’d come back after eating."
He saw no point in calling and making her anxious.
Moreover, he found waiting for her to return at her dorm door like this had its own charm.
Especially seeing her casually tying her hair, wearing jogging pants, a white T-shirt, dragging slippers, swinging keys and humming a tune, lightly and cheerfully walking toward him like a lively little bunny, was particularly moving to him.
Ning Youguang had no idea that in someone’s eyes, her image at this moment equated to a bouncing little bunny.
She squatted beside Shi Wangyue’s feet, staring at the two big bags in front of her, "Why did you buy so many things for me, what are they?"
"Nothing much, just some food." Shi Wangyue smiled, bending down to pick up the two bags.
...
Once inside, he set what he was holding on Ning Youguang’s living room table.
Then he headed to the fridge, opened the door, and started inspecting.
"There’s quite a lot of stuff." He remarked in some surprise.
"Yeah, a lot of things for sure." Ning Youguang said as she walked over to him.
"Aren’t you the one who usually eats at the canteen, how come..." Shi Wangyue was slightly puzzled.
Ning Youguang sighed, "I didn’t buy them. I can’t cook, so why would I buy these."
"Then who bought them for you?"
"Uncle, Dad, Auntie, Brother, Uncle, Aunt..." Ning Youguang listed off on her fingers, "They often send me a lot of food as if there’s no food at our school." She softly complained.
Shi Wangyue just pursed his lips and smiled.
He thought to himself, "Just as expected."
After Ning Youguang finished speaking, she reached into the fridge and pulled out a few bags.
She originally intended to place them on the ground, but Shi Wangyue caught them.
After that, as she took one out, Shi Wangyue caught it.
Once they had taken out four or five bags from the fridge, Ning Youguang looked down at the bags in Shi Wangyue’s hands and said with a smile, "Just right, the fridge is broken, I can finally do a clean-out."
Shi Wangyue reminded her, "Go change and freshen up, leave all this to me."
"Okay." Ning Youguang turned to the wardrobe, took out clothes, and went to the bathroom.
...
Nine o’clock in the morning, Ning Youguang’s office.
Today, a middle-aged woman with a furrowed brow came to consult her.
"Dr. Ning, I originally planned to have you check on my psychological issues, but now I’m dizzy, and I feel very unwell," as soon as she entered, the middle-aged woman said.
Ning Youguang guided her to sit on a chair and then took out a bottle of water from the cabinet for her.
"Have some water first."
While the middle-aged woman sipped water, she sat beside her, gently asking, "Where are you feeling uncomfortable?"
The middle-aged woman took a small sip of water, tightened the bottle, and said, "I’ve had high blood pressure for over a year now."
"What’s your blood pressure reading?"
"180/140 mmHg."
Ning Youguang looked at her complexion seriously and asked, "Has there been something in the past year that you feel shouldn’t have happened and makes you feel unbalanced?"
The middle-aged woman thought for a moment, "There is such a thing; because at my workplace, all cadres at 50 were uniformly retired. I just turned 50, was a section chief, and a top employee. The director often praised my dedication and performance in meetings. I always believed I was different from other cadres and that the leadership would certainly keep me on. However, when the announcement came, I was retired just like everyone else, which was an unexpected blow. I believe the leadership shouldn’t treat me as just any cadre and retire me too. Does this have anything to do with my blood pressure?"
