Chapter 62: Chapter 62: Lottery Draw

This time, with no one around and her editor’s previous nagging ringing in her ears, Jessie Sterling tapped on the little red dot.

"Oh my god, Artist, you haven’t updated in a week! Not even a workhorse would dare to rest this much!"

"Author, do you have any idea? If you don’t update, the traffic on your homepage is going to plummet! (devil’s whisper) Hurry up and post an update!"

"Is this your own daily life, Artist? It feels like a journal of your life, hehe. It’s so sweet! I want to crawl into your Chapter buffer and just inhale everything!"

"Since it’s called *New Marriage Diary*, then, ahem, there should be some of that... unspeakable stuff, right? Don’t be shy, post it! Our platform is super lenient! As long as it’s not *too* risqué, anything goes!"

As Jessie Sterling read the comments, the corners of her eyes couldn’t help but crinkle up.

Her fingers tapped on the screen as she replied to fans, all the while calculating if she could manage to release a few episodes today.

Jessie Sterling recalled drawing the fireworks display Victor Morgan had given her right after she’d returned from abroad. The piece just needed some finishing touches. After replying to her fans, she quickly wrapped it up and posted the update before dinner.

Jessie didn’t immediately check the comments on the new update. She recalled taking a few photos on the deck the previous night.

She rubbed her head, took a big gulp of the fruit and vegetable juice beside her, and then opened her phone’s photo gallery.

PFFT—

Upon seeing the photos in her gallery, Jessie Sterling clamped a hand over her mouth, nearly spitting her juice all over the screen.

She set down her phone and scrambled to clean up the mess.

’I don’t even know how so many photos of Victor Morgan ended up in my gallery!’

Once the moment of panic passed, Jessie patted her slightly flushed cheeks. In the end, she couldn’t stop herself from picking up her phone again.

Her photography skills were widely praised among her circle of friends. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

She had stood on the deck, taking a great many photos of Victor Morgan.

Jessie Sterling curled up in the large armchair, phone in one hand, the fingers of her other hand finding their way to her mouth for a nervous nibble.

’I have to admit, even just in photos and without a clear shot of his face, I can still feel Victor Morgan’s exceptional charisma.’

Jessie stared at the photos for a while. Then, as if guided by some unseen force, she picked up her stylus and began to sketch furiously on her drawing tablet.

A dark gray shirt, black trousers... most of the time Jessie saw Victor Morgan, he was dressed in an impeccable suit. But the man truly had a physique to be proud of; those exquisitely tailored, handmade suits he wore perfectly accentuated his great build: broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and long legs.

Before long, the image of a man in a suit casually leaning against a yacht’s railing appeared on Jessie’s computer screen.

Broad shoulders, a lean V-taper waist, long legs, a stoic air, a suit—all these tags were firmly fixed on the young man in the drawing. The wave of raw pheromones practically leaping off the screen was enough to make any reader scream.

Jessie’s ears grew a little hot. After finishing the initial sketch, she glanced at her phone again to compare. She couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing.

Her gaze shifted. Jessie stared at the drawing tablet for a good while before finally lifting her hand and dabbing a spot on the ear of the suited man in her drawing.

Other than a wristwatch, Victor Morgan never seemed to wear any other accessories.

Jessie wasn’t sure if this was an act of self-deception or simply wishful thinking, but she added a sparkling stud to the ear of the long-legged man on her drawing tablet.

Not a subtle stud, like one made of obsidian, but a diamond.

Instantly, the man’s entire aura in the picture seemed to transform.

He had been all business and stoicism before, but with the addition of that single stud, the whole vibe of the drawing suddenly became sexy and alluring.

Jessie was very satisfied. She stared at the screen, unable to stop a giggle from escaping.

Jessie took a break to go downstairs for dinner and accept a delivery, but she was soon back upstairs, drawing again.

It was only after she’d finished drawing the short story about the previous night on the yacht that she remembered the package from earlier.

She bought so many things that she often forgot what she’d ordered, only vaguely remembering when she was in the middle of unboxing it.

Without checking who the sender was, Jessie opened the box.

CLINK—

Something small fell out of the box, landing on the floor with a clatter.

Jessie picked it up, letting out a soft "Huh?" A look of pleasant surprise dawned on her face, and she picked the box up again.

Sure enough, it wasn’t something she had bought. Victor Morgan had arranged to have it sent to her.

It was the wedding favors!

Victor Morgan had previously suggested she draw cute, chibi-style versions of them for their wedding. He had then found a factory to create molds and produce little figurines using a hard-gold crafting process!

The little figurines were a brilliant gold, their facial features perfectly clear. They were almost identical to Jessie’s original drawings.

And it was obvious that Victor Morgan had gone to great lengths when arranging this.

The bride’s puffy wedding dress was white, the bouquet in her hands was pink, and the groom’s suit was also colored. On top of the goldwork, they had used an enameling process, which made the figures so vibrant, colorful, and lifelike.

Jessie was absolutely enchanted; she couldn’t bear to put them down.

Jessie immediately took a photo and sent it to Victor Morgan.

[Jessie Sterling: They’re gorgeous! I love them so much!]

At that moment, it was nine o’clock at night in Southaven, but early in the morning in Washington.

Victor Morgan had arrived at his lodgings in the early hours of the morning and had gone straight to bed. As if long accustomed to such business trips, he seemed completely unaffected by jet lag, waking up at six the next morning to work out.

Upon receiving Jessie’s message, Victor Morgan replied instantly.

[Victor Morgan: You like them? I had a larger, thirty-centimeter-tall pair made that you can keep in a display case.]

When Jessie saw Victor’s message, she almost screamed out loud.

’He was supposed to be the most cluelessly straightforward guy in the universe, so Jessie couldn’t understand how Victor’s gifts always managed to touch her heart so perfectly.’

From the first-edition signed art book, to the purplish-pink diamond she had picked out herself, and now these chibi-style, enameled gold newlywed figurines—every single gift was something she absolutely adored.

Beaming, Jessie hugged her phone. Then, riding a wave of inspiration, she posted that night’s episode, "Moonlit Night on the Yacht."

Opening her creator dashboard, Jessie posted a new announcement on her main page.

[Little Squid: Doing a giveaway on my social media tonight, everyone come join in on the fun!]

The moment she posted the announcement, a flood of fan comments poured in.

"A giveaway? What’s the occasion?"

"What’s the prize? Can the winner get access to your private stash of Chapters? *evil grin* Hehe."

"Who cares about a giveaway!? Get back to updating! *cracks little whip*"

"Are you planning on paying us to read your work now? Forget it, just focus on updating. Who needs a giveaway? We can shower you with gifts! As long as you keep a steady stream of updates coming!"

Jessie thought for a moment, then chose the reply with the most likes to respond to—
