After Rebirth, I Accept The Arranged Marriage-Chapter 148: Showing Off
"Wow! He’s so handsome, I could die! You owe me!"
"Hey handsome, you’re what’s missing from my dreams!"
"@ the person above, snap out of it, hahaha! His wife posted this video! Hahaha, stop thirsting over him!"
"Gotta love the internet. I can shamelessly stare at other people’s husbands."
"Followed you, sis. Post more, I love to see it."
"Question: where’d you pick up a husband like that, sweetie? The ski resort? If that’s the case, I’m booking a flight right now!"
Jessie Sterling read the comments, laughing nonstop.
She held the phone out in front of Victor Morgan. "They all say you’re handsome! So, admit it, I’m a good photographer, right?!"
Victor Morgan hadn’t expected her to be sitting there in the snow, hunched over her phone, just to post a video of him.
Before Victor Morgan could say anything, Jessie Sterling added, "Don’t worry! See? You’re all bundled up. Even though you’re in the video, no one can see your face clearly! Hehe."
Jessie Sterling silently added in her heart, ’And even if they could see his face, I’m the only one who’s allowed to look.’
Victor Morgan: "As long as you’re happy."
The implication was that he didn’t mind Jessie Sterling filming him.
"Should we head down now? I’ll follow behind you," Victor Morgan said.
Having witnessed Victor Morgan’s carving skills with her own eyes, Jessie Sterling nodded eagerly. "Okay, okay!"
The advanced slope looked quite long, but a single run down didn’t take much time if you were fast.
Jessie Sterling’s stamina was limited. After three runs that morning, she was getting too tired to ski anymore.
In contrast, Victor Morgan, whom she’d been thinking of as an "old man," had far more stamina than her. He didn’t seem tired at all, going run after run.
Jessie Sterling didn’t want to ski anymore, but she still enjoyed watching Victor Morgan, so she just decided to wait for him at the top.
Just as Jessie Sterling saw Victor Morgan riding the ski lift back up again, before she could walk over, she saw a young woman in a light blue snowsuit hurry up from behind and grab him.
Jessie Sterling stood where she was, not moving.
Since they weren’t very far apart, Jessie Sterling could overhear the conversation between Victor Morgan and the girl in the blue snowsuit.
"Hey handsome, are you an instructor at this resort? Can I get your WeChat? This is my second season, so I have some experience. I’m not a complete beginner. Would you be willing to teach me?"
When Jessie Sterling heard this, she almost raised an eyebrow.
’The instructors at this resort all wear instructor badges. How does Victor Morgan look like an instructor at all?’
Victor Morgan had already turned his head the moment he was suddenly grabbed from behind.
He was still wearing his face mask, revealing only his eyes.
Now, as he turned, his eyes glanced at the person grabbing him.
The young woman in the blue snowsuit couldn’t help but gasp in admiration. She had seen Victor Morgan skiing alone on the slopes earlier, with no one accompanying him. Then, when getting on the ski lift, she realized he was in the car right in front of her.
Although she couldn’t see Victor Morgan’s face, his tall and long-legged figure was still discernible even under his snowsuit.
While on the ski lift, she had talked about Victor Morgan with her friend, who then egged her on to ask for his WeChat when they got off.
"A guy skiing alone definitely doesn’t have a girlfriend. Be proactive if you want something to happen! Besides, handsome guys are a rare resource. First, pretend to ask if he’s an instructor. When he talks to you, he’ll have to face you, right? When he turns around, if you think he’s hot, get his WeChat and chat him up. If he’s not, well, with skills like that, paying for one lesson wouldn’t be a loss for us either."
With her friend’s words, the girl in the blue snowsuit immediately gained confidence.
’That’s right. Either way, I can’t lose.’
Now, seeing Victor Morgan turn toward her, even though she could only see his eyes, the contours of his face under the protective gear were already quite clear.
’He’s definitely a total hottie under that mask!’
It was just that his gaze was a little too cold.
"I’m not an instructor." Victor Morgan glanced down at the hand still clutching his jacket and frowned slightly. "Can you let go?"
Only after Victor Morgan’s reminder did the girl in the blue snowsuit seem to realize she was still holding onto him.
"Ah, I’m sorry," she said quickly. "You’re not an instructor? That’s okay. I saw you skiing earlier, and you looked amazing. Can you teach me? I’m not very familiar with this resort and haven’t found a good instructor yet."
Victor Morgan didn’t understand why someone at a ski resort would dare to just grab a random stranger to be their instructor. If something were to happen, could a stranger be held responsible?
"I can’t," Victor Morgan said.
"Why not?" This came from the companion of the girl in the blue snowsuit. She knew her friend wanted Victor Morgan’s WeChat and felt he was being a bit arrogant. What was wrong with making a new friend while you’re out having fun? His refusal was just too blunt and disrespectful.
Victor Morgan: "My wife wouldn’t like it."
As he said this, he was already looking in Jessie Sterling’s direction.
Before the two behind him could react, he was already walking toward Jessie Sterling.
"Had enough of a show?" Victor Morgan asked as he reached Jessie Sterling, his tone a bit resigned.
The two young women, who had just been silently complaining that Victor Morgan was too cold and aloof, couldn’t help but exchange a look when they heard him speak to the girl in the matching black snowsuit. They saw the same thought reflected in each other’s eyes. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Awkward.
’So he was taken?’
Their next thought was, ’This guy’s attitude changes way too fast, doesn’t he?’
Jessie Sterling looked at Victor Morgan and said with a smile, "Well, you didn’t call me over, so I didn’t want to interrupt."
Victor Morgan was so amused he was almost exasperated by the righteous excuse Jessie Sterling had found for her blatant spectating. "How about we go down and eat? It’s getting late. Are you hungry?"
Jessie Sterling nodded. "I already made plans with Lynn. She’s waiting for us at the exit of the beginner’s slope. We’ll go eat together."
After a moment’s thought, Jessie Sterling also sent a message to Brianna Hudson.
Victor Morgan had no objections. He took the goggles hanging from Jessie Sterling’s arm, personally put them on for her, and then helped her strap on her skis. "You go first. I’ll stay behind you."
By this time, quite a few people were on the advanced slope. An announcement was already playing over the speakers—"This is an advanced slope, this is an advanced slope"—but clearly, there were still some clueless newbies falling all over the place, completely lost in their struggle.
Falling on their own was one thing, but Victor Morgan was worried one of these "human torpedoes" might suddenly crash into Jessie Sterling. That’s why he felt he had to stay right behind her, warily keeping an eye on their surroundings.
As Jessie Sterling and Victor Morgan skied all the way down to the lodge, they saw Brianna Hudson standing by the entrance, arguing with someone.
Brianna Hudson was arguing with Nina Walsh.
