After Prison I Rushed into Marriage with a Comatose Tycoon-Chapter 49: Tie Up Eliza Sutton and Bring Her Back
Eliza Sutton couldn’t help but pat Eva Monroe on the shoulder.
Eva said, "Don’t you go comforting me. If you dare, I swear I’ll flip out."
Eliza rolled her eyes at Eva. "What are you talking about? I was going to tell you to seize the opportunity and get your hands on some money."
Eva nodded in agreement. "You’re right, I need to make money while I can. Otherwise, when that little brat grows up, I won’t see a single cent of inheritance."
"Little brat? Your mom’s pregnant? With a boy?" Eliza asked, a little confused.
She’d seen Mrs. Monroe before, and judging by her complexion, her chances of getting pregnant again were practically zero. ’How could she possibly have a child at her age?’
A flash of irony crossed Eva’s eyes as she said flatly, "No. My mom can’t have kids anymore. So, she went and snatched up the illegitimate son my dad just had with some woman and registered the baby under her own name. The other woman is no pushover, though; she shows up at our door making a scene every day. But my mom is one step ahead. She convinced my dad by arguing that the boy would face social stigma as an illegitimate child. So now, I have a little brother."
She said it all nonchalantly, but every word dripped with thick, undiluted sarcasm.
’Sometimes,’ Eva thought, ’I must have blown up The Milky Way in a past life to deserve parents like these.’
Eva shook her head forcefully. "Forget it. Let’s not talk about all this bullshit. Let’s drink. We’re not leaving till we’re smashed."
Eva grabbed a bottle of brandy and went to pour a glass for Eliza.
Eliza raised a hand to cover her glass. "I can’t. I have to head home early tonight."
Eva Monroe said, "Are you serious? Girl, it took me forever to get you to come out. You’re not even going to let me have a good time?"
"Someone’s waiting for me at home."
The words were barely out of Eliza’s mouth when her phone rang.
"I’m at a bar... I won’t be too late... No, you don’t need to send anyone to pick me up. You should go to sleep... Okay... Okay, we’ll have breakfast together tomorrow morning... Good night."
Eva stared at Eliza as if she’d grown a second head. "Don’t tell me you were just on the phone with Shane Lockwood."
"Of course not."
"I knew it. There’s no way Yama Lockwood could sound that gentle." Eva leaned in close to Eliza, a teasing glint in her eye. "So who was that? A little toy boy you’re keeping on the side? What’s he look like? Does he have a good body? How long can he last? And when you two... you know... is he gentle or rough?"
Eliza looked completely exasperated. "What is all this filth you’re spouting?" She paused for a moment before adding, "That was Shane Lockwood’s son on the phone, Emmett Lockwood."
"What? That stepson of yours?" Eva was incredulous. "But the rumors say The Crown Prince Lockwood is cold and aloof, even more difficult than his father. How could he be so close to you?"
"You must have misheard. Emmett is very sweet and obedient."
Eva couldn’t resist reaching out to feel Eliza’s forehead. "You don’t have a fever. So why are you spouting such nonsense?"
’The Crown Prince Lockwood being well-behaved and obedient? That was the biggest joke in the world.’
"I’m not talking nonsense. It’s all true."
"Okay, okay, I get it. I know your life in that wealthy family isn’t easy." Eva patted Eliza’s shoulder, her face full of sympathy. "It must be tough for you. Just hang in there. After all, he’s the golden Little Prince. We can’t afford to get on his bad side."
Eliza was speechless. "..."
’It felt like she and Eva were talking about two completely different people.’
"Alright, I see how hard it is for you, girl. We’ll save the big drinking session for when you’ve escaped your sea of suffering. You should head home early for now."
"Emmett really is a good kid."
"Right, right, he’s great. Now hurry up and go." Eva waved down a waiter, paid the bill, and got ready to leave with Eliza.
Just then, a group of people walked into Nocturne Bar, led by a young man.
He had a streak of bleached-blue hair, a skull t-shirt, ripped jeans, and a cigarette dangling from the corner of his mouth.
He was on the phone. "...So where’s the beauty? Amelia Sutton, you’ve kept me waiting for days. You’re not messing with me, are you?"
Amelia Sutton’s voice came through the phone. "Master Willow, why would I ever lie to you? She’s already at the bar. Just look around. The most beautiful woman there is the one I’ve prepared for you."
Ivan Willow hung up, his eyes scanning the room.
"The most beautiful woman?" Ivan Willow’s brow furrowed. ’That Amelia Sutton really loves to be dramatic,’ he thought. ’The most beautiful woman... where’s this so-called "most beautiful woman"?’
Just as Ivan was looking around, utterly baffled, he heard someone call out Eliza Sutton’s name.
Ivan subconsciously glanced over and froze.
His eyes went wide, and he nearly started drooling.
Beautiful.
So unbelievably beautiful.
’I want that woman!’
Ivan immediately walked over, blocking Eliza’s path.
Eliza frowned at the scoundrel who had suddenly appeared in front of her. "You’re blocking my way. Excuse me."
"Don’t be in such a rush. Me blocking your path today is your lucky day." Ivan’s eyes lit up as he watched Eliza frown.
Gorgeous.
Even more gorgeous.
Ivan said with a greasy smile, "Don’t be so cold, sweetheart. Why don’t you come have a nice long ’chat’ in bed with me? I guarantee you’ll love it. Right, boys?"
The guys behind him immediately cheered him on. "That’s right! Our Master Willow is a beast! Seven times a night, an hour each time!"
"Yeah! Get with our Mr. Willow, and you’ll find out what real pleasure is!"
"Hear that? My skills are legendary. It’s your lucky day I’ve taken an interest in you." As Ivan spoke, he reached out to touch Eliza’s face.
Before his hand could make contact, his wrist was seized. A powerful force twisted his arm, and in a dizzying spin, he was thrown to the floor.
He was completely stunned as his back slammed hard against the ground.
The men behind him were just as stunned.
They probably never imagined that any woman in Seabourne would dare to lay a hand on Ivan Willow.
Eliza shot him a look of disgust, then grabbed Eva’s hand. "Let’s go."
The men who had come with him were frozen for a second before they swarmed over to Ivan.
"Master Willow!"
"Master Willow, are you okay?"
Ivan let them help him up, his face darkening as he watched Eliza about to exit the bar. "Go! Get that woman and drag her back to me!"
The bodyguards with Ivan swarmed after them. Eliza had just pulled Eva out the door of the bar when they were surrounded.
Eva was terrified, but she still stepped in front of Eliza, saying bravely, "Eliza, you go! I’ll hold them off."
"We leave together or not at all."
Eva got angry when she heard that. "This is no time to play the hero! Just go!"
"No need to argue. Neither of you is going anywhere."
Supported by his bodyguards, Ivan Willow walked over. He stared grimly at Eliza and said, "Well, well, beauty. You’re surrounded by my men. Let’s see you run now. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll strip naked, lie down, and wait for me to take you!"
