After Marrying Him, the Ending Has Changed-Chapter 933: Two-Faced in Person
Although Elder Qi hasn’t been back from abroad for long, these families all have connections.
When Cheng An was young, he met the Qi family members while with his parents, and during their regular discussions, they would talk about matters concerning their family.
"As long as it’s fair, I’m relieved." Jiang Mianmian, now understanding Director Qi’s character, no longer worried that he would target her mother for the sake of his niece.
"Mianmian, what’s really going on? Why are you suddenly inquiring about these things? If you have any tough issues, you must talk to Brother Cheng An." Cheng An asked with some concern.
Now that Boss Yu was in closed training and couldn’t contact the outside world, it was the right time for him to step up and protect their shared little sister.
Seeing Cheng An so anxious, Jiang Mianmian didn’t want to worry him and decided not to hide it anymore: "Brother Cheng An, don’t worry, it’s not a big deal. It was just that previously, when Brother Yu and I were having dinner in Yang City, we ran into Director Qi’s niece. They said some excessive things, and Brother Yu and I taught them a lesson..."
Jiang Mianmian briefly explained what happened between them and the Qi siblings.
"I see, Mianmian, you don’t need to worry about this. Second Uncle Qi isn’t the type to exploit public office for personal gain. After all, it was his niece’s fault to begin with. He’s not the kind of elder who would be biased or protective. If he finds out about this, he’ll most likely discipline his niece instead. Rest assured." Cheng An reassured her.
"Yeah, Brother Cheng An, knowing about his nature from you, I feel much more at ease." Jiang Mianmian said happily.
The two chatted for a while longer. Seeing it was getting late, Cheng An suggested Jiang Mianmian go to bed early before ending the call.
With everything sorted and having received Cheng An’s reassuring words, Jiang Mianmian was finally able to sleep peacefully.
But Cheng An didn’t continue watching TV. He quickly ran upstairs and knocked on the study door.
"Dad, do you know the phone number of Second Uncle Qi’s family?" Cheng An asked his dad.
Dad Cheng was reviewing some materials. Hearing his son’s question, he glanced up at Cheng An: "Yes, I do, but why are you looking for him?"
"It’s a minor issue, a small misunderstanding that needs some explanation." Cheng An replied.
Dad Cheng, adopting a hands-off approach with Cheng An, didn’t press further knowing his son wasn’t willing to elaborate. He took out a small address book from the drawer, flipped to Director Qi’s number, and handed it to him: "Here it is."
"Thanks, Dad." Cheng An took the address book and ran out.
In the living room, Cheng An dialed Director Qi’s number.
"Hello, this is Qi Siyi’s home." Director Qi’s voice came from the other end of the line.
"Hello, Second Uncle Qi, it’s Cheng An. Do you remember me?" Cheng An politely introduced himself.
"Ah, An from the Cheng family, yes, I remember. What prompted you to call me?" Qi Siyi, after a brief pause, recalled who Cheng An was. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Cheng An chuckled: "Second Uncle Qi, here’s the thing. I have a younger sister who had some conflict with your niece Qi Jing. They had a dispute earlier at a state-run restaurant near the zoo about the American power station matter."
Previously, during the call, Cheng An had advised Jiang Mianmian not to worry, assuring her not to fret over these things because he felt that Mianmian was still young and needed to focus on her studies.
All these complicated matters could be left to older brothers like him to handle.
That’s why he had one attitude in person and another behind the scenes.
