Chapter 129: Chapter 129: Must Be Eliminated

His marriage to Faye Quinn was a family arrangement.

But he had never felt anything for the sickly young lady.

Faye Quinn’s condition worsened after being caught in the acid rain. Although he brought both her and Dylan Quinn into the Quinn Group, he never once went to see her.

To compensate, he even gave Dylan Quinn many special privileges.

’But I never thought Dylan Quinn would want to kill me?’

He hadn’t believed it at first, but since the words came from Simon Abbott, he had no choice but to believe them.

After all, Simon Abbott’s friend, Liam Grant, had prophetic dreams.

"This is just my speculation.

When you were severely injured before, Dylan Quinn didn’t make a move against you.

Faye Quinn also knew about your injuries back then.

If she truly hated you, why didn’t she act then?"

Simon Abbott’s words sent Tyson Hughes deep into thought.

He remained silent for a long time.

Just as Nina Jacobs was wondering if her Five Senses Enhancement was about to time out, Tyson Hughes finally spoke.

"Someone from the main family is wary of me,

because back then, I hadn’t yet awakened my Dual Element Superpower."

Hearing this, Simon Abbott nodded in satisfaction.

"I’m not familiar with the situation with the main family.

Be careful after I leave."

"Why are you helping me?"

Tyson Hughes asked suddenly.

Nina Jacobs also focused her attention.

She was also curious why Simon Abbott would go so far as to betray Liam Grant just to help Tyson Hughes.

"Because... the powerful in this world always need a strategist, don’t they?"

Simon Abbott replied with a smile.

Tyson Hughes laughed out loud.

"I originally thought you were betting on the main family.

I didn’t expect you to think so highly of me."

"Tomorrow’s arms shipment... I’ll have Dylan Quinn handle the pickup.

When he returns, the answer will reveal itself..."

The conversation between Tyson Hughes and Simon Abbott didn’t last long.

But it left Nina Jacobs utterly shocked.

She had thought Simon Abbott had abandoned Liam Grant, who hadn’t awakened a Dual Element Superpower, and chosen Tyson Hughes instead.

But she never expected something even more explosive.

Simon Abbott not only hid the fact that he was reborn,

but he also cleverly planted this "ticking time bomb" on Liam Grant.

’What a grand scheme.’

Nina Jacobs almost felt like applauding Simon Abbott.

However, she hadn’t forgotten her own objective.

「Finally, the dead of night arrived.」

Nina Jacobs released a Little Zombie Rat from her bedside.

The Little Zombie Rat scurried along the wall, heading toward the incineration station Melanie Lawson had told her about.

She found that her Control over the Little Zombie Rat was becoming more and more proficient.

She could even extend her Five Senses Enhancement to perceive the surroundings along with the Little Zombie Rat’s movements.

Meanwhile, down at the incineration station,

Dylan Quinn grimly pulled off his blood-soaked gloves.

"Shaw, take care of this tonight,"

Dylan Quinn said.

"Got it.

It’ll be cleaned up tonight.

Don’t you worry, Mr. Quinn."

A large, bare-chested man replied with a grin.

Dylan Quinn glanced at the mangled figure on the floor, then lost interest.

’If I can’t pry it out of his mouth...’

’...I’ll just have to find that woman who was with him before...’

After Dylan Quinn left,

the bloody figure on the floor seemed to stir.

Shaw, looking disgusted, started cleaning the bloodstains on the floor with a squeegee.

"Well, look at you. Still not dead?

You’re not actually thinking someone’s coming to save you, are you?"

"A Superpower User, too. What a waste.

Would’ve been great if that Superpower of yours was mine instead, eh?

So damn tough."

"You should’ve just kept your mouth shut if you didn’t know what to say.

But no, you just had to glare at him.

You offended Mr. Quinn, and now you’re gonna be turned to ash tonight."

Shaw muttered to himself as he cleaned.

It was the first time he’d ever seen someone drive Dylan Quinn into such a frenzy.

It was also the first time he’d seen someone beaten so brutally.

It was less of a beating and more like torture and slaughter.

It was just that this Wayne Warner was too damn hard to kill.

Even with a layer of his skin practically peeled off, he hadn’t uttered a single cry.

After Shaw left the room, the bloody figure on the floor slowly opened his eyes.

He couldn’t move; his arms and legs had been broken.

Cold moonlight poured in through the window,

shining upon a small, brown mouse nearby.

The mouse had two tender green leaves on its back.

A pair of hollow, pitch-black eye sockets stared at him.

He, too, was looking at this Little Zombie Rat.

Surprise flickered in his eyes, then he slowly closed them in what looked like relief...

「That night.」

An explosion occurred at the incineration station.

For unknown reasons, a series of blasts reduced the entire station to rubble.

Some said a Zombie Rat had appeared and chewed through the power lines.

Others claimed a machine inside the station had malfunctioned.

But no one cared about any of that.

Because many people had seen the bodies piled up inside the incineration station.

Some of the corpses were mangled beyond recognition, while others were clearly desiccated husks, drained of all their blood...

For a moment, chaos erupted within the Quinn Group.

Although internal management quickly sealed off the scene and everything proceeded as usual the next day,

rumors had already spread among the Superpower Users.

"Huh? Why isn’t Summer Warner here?"

During the new recruit training class,

Yvette Lowe scanned the room again, confirming that Summer Warner was not among the attendees.

"Who knows? People go missing here every day, anyway..."

The more they talked, the more their skin crawled.

Meanwhile, Nina Jacobs was helping Wayne Warner sit up inside an empty cargo truck.

The truck was driving out of the Quinn Group’s main gate.

Several guards at the gate were opening the doors of each vehicle, one by one, for inspection.

A guard opened the door to the truck Nina was in,

but he found nothing.

"Vehicle five is clear!"

The guard shouted before closing the door again.

After he shut the door, Nina Jacobs checked the time.

The Invisibility Potion she and Wayne Warner had taken would wear off in twenty minutes.

But that was more than enough time.

A cold glint appeared in Nina Jacobs’s eyes.

After watching the recording the Little Zombie Rat brought back, she had rushed over immediately.

Fortunately, Wayne Warner was still breathing.

But despite her feeding him several Healing Potions, Wayne Warner remained unconscious.

Looking at Wayne Warner, tortured beyond recognition,

she had blown up the building in a fit of rage.

And amidst the chaos, she had carried Wayne Warner and hidden inside a supply transport truck.

Now, they had successfully escaped the Quinn Group.

The next step was to figure out how to get out of the truck.

The convoy of six vehicles had traveled less than a third of the way when the last truck, number five, suddenly stopped.

In the lead vehicle, Dylan Quinn opened his eyes.

He was in charge of transporting that shipment of weapons today.

"What’s wrong?"

His assistant beside him immediately called the rear vehicle on the radio.

They thought a zombie might have appeared, but they didn’t see anything.

"It’s nothing, it’s nothing.

The guard didn’t close the door properly during the inspection earlier.

We’ll be moving right away."

The driver of the rear truck quickly replied.

"Alright.

Hurry up and catch up. We’re not even sure if we’ll make it to our destination today,"

the assistant urged.

Nina Jacobs used every ounce of her strength to drag Wayne Warner into a grove of dead trees by the roadside.

Every bone in Wayne Warner’s body was broken.

He had just been dragged out of a moving truck by her, and his condition was now dire.

Even though she had fed him four Healing Potions, he was still unconscious.

Blood seeped from his wounds with every movement.

Nina Jacobs deployed her safe house and helped Wayne Warner inside.

By now, she was drenched in sweat.

Fortunately, the temperature inside the safe house was comfortable.

Looking at the unrecognizable Wayne Warner lying on the bed, Nina Jacobs had never felt such burning rage.

’Dylan Quinn... he must be eliminated!’
