After Giving Birth, All My Beast Ex-Husbands Suddenly Want Me Back-Chapter 58: So much money!
Nina was thoroughly amused by the little eggs. Smiling, she said, "Babies, that’s the smell of food. You can’t eat it yet. If you want to taste something that delicious, you’ll have to grow up quickly. Once you hatch, Mommy will cook tasty food for you every day."
The egg babies wobbled in faint disappointment. One by one, they leaned against the edge of their nest, stretching their tiny egg-bodies forward as if peeking out. We must hatch soon, they silently resolved. Only then can we eat that fragrant food.
That night, after washing up, Nina played with them for a while before settling down to sleep peacefully together.
Early the next morning, Nina got up and immediately began weaving a larger carrying basket.
She hadn’t gone out in quite some time. The weather looked pleasant today, and she felt like taking a walk—perhaps even gathering some Beast World resources to sell to the system and earn a bit of "milk powder money."
"Mino, let’s go out this afternoon!" she called, finishing the final touches on the basket.
"Sure. Where would you like to go?" Mino asked.
"How about that valley we visited before? We didn’t get to explore much last time."
"Alright. We’ll leave after lunch?"
"Perfect."
Once the basket was done, Nina lined it with soft animal pelts and added a light cover over the top.
After lunch, she carefully placed the egg babies inside one by one. "Babies, Mommy’s taking you out to play today."
The eggs immediately wobbled excitedly. Mommy was taking them outside!
Mino’s lips curved upward as he shifted into his beast form. Yanai did the same.
Nina slung the basket over her back and climbed onto Mino’s broad back. She patted him lightly to signal she was settled, then called to the eggs, "Alright, babies—we’re off!"
Mino ran swiftly yet steadily. A cool breeze brushed gently against them, refreshing and comfortable.
Inside the basket, the eggs rocked softly. The breeze caressed their shells, and they lay sprawled in contented little heaps.
Soon, they arrived at the valley.
Worried Nina might tire, Mino said, "Nina, let me carry the babies."
Though she didn’t feel tired, she planned to gather resources, so she handed him the basket. He strapped it to his front.
The egg babies leaned against the rim, sensing the world around them—new scents everywhere, melodic trickling sounds, cheerful chirps.
Nina gazed at the beautiful landscape, her mood lifting instantly.
As they walked, she activated her scanner to detect exchangeable materials nearby.
The scanner was integrated into her visual system now. Once activated, anything eligible for exchange would display a price and quantity limit directly in her field of vision. There was also a physical scanner version, but she preferred the visual one.
When she turned it on, her eyes widened in delight.
There were so many exchangeable resources!
Even with quantity limits, the potential earnings were considerable.
Looking at the valley full of convertible materials, Nina’s eyes practically turned into currency symbols.
I’m going to get rich! I’m going to be a wealthy lady!
She excitedly chose to harvest the higher-priced plants first.
"Mino, Yanai—help me gather some plants!"
She crouched and began picking.
Mino looked puzzled. "Nina, what are you picking these weeds for? Can they be eaten?"
"No, but I have use for them. Let’s gather as much as we can—just these types."
She waved the plants in her hand cheerfully.
"Alright."
Without further questions, Mino crouched to help. Yanai joined as well.
As she picked, Nina discreetly sent the resources into her system space for Little Bun.
Mino and Yanai already knew she had a storage space—though they assumed it was similar to their own.
After a while, they grew tired and rested on a grassy patch.
Sitting down, Nina asked quietly, "Little Bun, scan the area. I want to let the babies out to play."
She didn’t want any tribe members spotting them.
Little Bun initiated a scan.
[Host, no other beastmen within a two-kilometer radius. You may proceed safely.]
Nina gently placed the egg babies on the grass. "Babies, come out and play!"
The eggs wobbled experimentally at first, feeling the grass beneath them. Then they began rolling freely and joyfully.
The meadow was wide. They rolled enthusiastically, scattering in all directions.
Nina and the three males ran around collecting runaway eggs. Eventually, Nina grew tired and left the egg-catching to them.
After playing for a while, she decided to explore a nearby forest.
There, too, she harvested another wave of valuable resources.
As they walked, Nina spotted a huge dark mass hanging from a tree, surrounded by countless tiny black dots. Immediately, lines of system text lit up densely in her vision.
Her eyes sparkled.
So much money!
It was a massive beehive.
Not only could the hive itself be exchanged—the bees could as well. The unit price and quantity were both impressively high.
Her heart pounded.
Yanai noticed her staring. "Little female, do you want honey? That’s a black-tailed bee hive. The honey’s quite good."
"Can you get it? I want the bees too," Nina asked.
Yanai nodded. "No problem."
Mino moved her to a safer area and created a transparent ice shield around her. "Nina, stay inside. We’ll get the hive and the bees."
"Be careful."
She handed them fine mesh nets for collecting.
Once Nina and the eggs were secured, Mino climbed the tree carefully.
After positioning himself near the hive, he signaled Yanai below.
With precise control of his ability, Mino detached the hive intact. It fell swiftly—Yanai caught it perfectly.
Instantly, a furious swarm erupted, buzzing loudly as they called reinforcements.
The bees attacked in a black cloud.
Mino and Yanai used their nets, dodging and capturing as many as they could.
Soon, even more bees poured in from all directions, turning the forest into a swirling storm of black specks.
Nina felt her trypophobia kicking in. She hadn’t expected so many bees. Anxiety tightened her chest.
Once the nets were sufficiently filled, the two males stopped.
Mino erected a defensive barrier. Yanai broke the ice shield and shifted into beast form, lowering himself.
"Little female, get on my back!"
After a brief hesitation, Nina climbed onto Yanai.
Once she was secure, he bolted. Mino transformed as well, fleeing alongside him.
They slowed only after shaking off the swarm—and by then, they were nearly back at the tribe.
Back at the stone house, both males shifted back to human form.
Nina looked up—and burst out laughing.
Both of them had swollen, puffy faces like pigs.
She couldn’t help herself.
She might have felt a tiny bit guilty—but remembering how they’d once called her "evil," she suddenly felt rather satisfied.
Maybe I should give them more dangerous tasks like this in the future.
Turning to head inside, Nina froze.
Two unfamiliar beastmen were standing in front of her stone house.
