After Giving Birth, All My Beast Ex-Husbands Suddenly Want Me Back-Chapter 105: Little traitor
Shui felt a surge of malicious satisfaction.
With looks like that, no wonder she had been abandoned. Sooner or later, those males would grow tired of her too. They were only temporarily bewitched.
Kith suddenly rose, walked forward, and knelt in front of Nina.
"Nina... I’m truly sorry."
His voice was low and rough with emotion.
"We were in the wilderness all along, but we didn’t come to find you immediately. We didn’t take care of you. We left you to raise the cubs alone. You suffered so much... and we weren’t there."
His eyes brimmed with guilt and regret.
"I truly am sorry. I am willing to accept any punishment. I’ll spend the rest of my life making up for it. Can you give me one chance to be forgiven?"
Finch followed suit and knelt beside him.
"I’m sorry too. I’ll accept any punishment. Please... forgive me just once."
Nina stood up quickly.
"You don’t have to do this," she said softly. "Whether you take care of me or not doesn’t matter. Just take care of Yinny and Didi and fulfill your responsibilities as fathers. That’s enough."
The faint distance in her tone cut deeper than any blade.
Pain flashed through Kith’s eyes.
Yes.
They were not her husbands.
Not her guardian beasts.
They didn’t even have the right to care for her.
They were only allowed to remain because of Yinny and Didi.
As he looked at her, the dull ache in his chest clarified something he had been unwilling to admit.
He wanted to care for her.
Protect her.
Stay by her side.
Not because of responsibility.
Not because of Yinny.
But because, somewhere along the way, he had fallen in love.
He didn’t know when it had begun. Quietly, without him noticing, she had taken root in his heart and gradually filled it entirely.
But after the mistake he had made... did he still have any chance?
"Nina... can you give me a chance to take care of you? Not because of Yinny. Just for you."
"Ah..." She bit her lip lightly. "That’s... not necessary."
Her refusal, though gentle, struck him hard.
Kith lowered his gaze, swallowing his disappointment.
It didn’t matter.
He could spend a lifetime atoning.
One day, perhaps, she would look at him differently.
Finch felt his own heart sink at her answer.
He stared at Kith in surprise.
So Kith...
A strange confusion stirred inside him.
Why did Nina’s rejection hurt him so much?
Why did he always want to move closer to her?
Why did he feel envy and jealousy when she was close to Odian?
Did he...?
Finch lifted his eyes to Nina. The confusion slowly faded.
Yes.
He had fallen for her too.
Just like Kith.
But she didn’t like him.
What should he do? How could he earn her forgiveness? How could he make her look at him just once more?
He lowered his head, bitterness filling his chest.
Aviel stood silent.
Should he apologize too?
Was she still angry about what had happened before?
Yesterday, she had only allowed him into the cave because it was raining.
Tonight... would she let him in again?
Would he ever be allowed to stay by her and Linny’s side openly?
Aviel looked at Nina and the little dragon cub.
He had to find a way to remain.
Even if it meant staying like Kith and Finch—anything was better than being shut out entirely.
Hidden nearby, Lex’s eyes widened in disbelief.
These powerful, proud males were kneeling before a small female, begging for forgiveness.
Begging to remain at her side.
What kind of magic did she possess?
"Please get up," Nina said helplessly.
Kith clenched his fists and rose. Finch followed.
There was no meaning in kneeling longer.
They had no right to forgiveness yet.
They could only work harder, waiting for an opportunity.
Shui frowned.
So these males weren’t easy targets after all.
The little white tiger and fox were their cubs—no wonder they treated Nina so well.
Was that dragon Aviel’s? If so... that complicated things.
How did Nina have their cubs? Surely she hadn’t given birth to all of them?
Shui refused to believe it.
In her mind, Nina must have used some trick to obtain the cubs of those powerful males.
She cast a thoughtful glance at Kith and the others before walking away.
She needed a plan—something that would draw those males away from Nina and into her arms.
The midday rest passed under a heavy, subdued atmosphere.
By evening, they found another cave for the night. Ridan and the others went inside to clean it, and Tao’s group helped.
Nina noticed a pleasant patch of grass nearby and let the cubs out to play first.
Linny and the egg-babies rolled happily across the grass.
Aviel approached cautiously.
"Little female... may I speak with Linny for a moment?"
Nina nodded.
Aviel immediately scooped Linny up and carried him aside.
"Linny," he whispered, "look at your brothers. Yinny and Didi both have fathers. They get their milk prepared, their meals fed to them, baths at night... Don’t you envy them?"
Linny wriggled in his grasp, protesting with soft squeaks.
"I don’t envy them! Mother’s milk tastes better. Mother’s baths are the best."
Aviel’s jaw tightened.
"They all have fathers. Only you don’t. Don’t you want one?"
Linny looked utterly unimpressed.
"I don’t. Mother is enough. And there are plenty of males who want to be my father. Big Phoenix is very good—gentle and pretty. I want him, not you, you smelly dragon."
Aviel’s blood pressure skyrocketed.
Ungrateful brat.
He suppressed his temper.
"A stepfather can’t compare to a real father."
He produced several colorful crystals.
"If you cooperate with me and tell your mother you want a father, I’ll give you all of these."
It wasn’t raining tonight. Whether he could enter the cave... whether he could stay... it all depended on this little traitor.
After all, Linny had far more influence over Nina than he did.
She had already softened somewhat.
If Linny said he wanted a father, she would surely relent.
Linny considered for a moment, then stretched out his little claw.
"Give them first."
Aviel handed over the crystals and carried him back.
Holding Linny with one arm, he put on the most benevolent fatherly expression he could manage.
"Little female, Linny told me he also wants a father."
Linny immediately wriggled free and reached for Nina. She took him back into her arms.
She looked down at him.
"Linny, do you want a father too?"
The moment he was safe in her embrace, Linny exposed Aviel without hesitation.
"No! I only want Mother!"
Aviel’s face darkened as he glared at the cub.
You little traitor––took the crystals and didn’t do the job.
He quickly switched to a pitiful expression.
"Little female... what happened before was my fault. I shouldn’t have lured Linny to meet me without your permission. I apologize. Please forgive me."
His voice softened.
"I truly want to take care of you and Linny. Will you allow me to stay? I can help him absorb dragon crystals, and..."
His ears reddened faintly.
"I’ll also learn how to take proper care of you."
