After Breaking Up, I Married the General-Chapter 76 - 75: Talking about Layton Lewis’ Childhood 2
According to Mrs. Sarah, Layton Lewis was extremely independent, and he also doesn’t want others interfering with his life.
So, Mrs. Sarah could just follow up what he was doing and let Layton Lewis do whatever he wanted to at a very young age.
Mrs. Sarah said that when Layton Lewis was young, she always needed to pay attention to the school news and pay attention to updates from their homeroom teachers or from Mervin as Layton Lewis wasn’t reporting the important things to them.
He would inform them about the parents’ conference but when it comes to competitions he would be participating, or any other events such as school festivals he wouldn’t mention any of them.
At first when they aren’t paying attention to it, Layton Lewis would just put down his trophies in one of his bags.
After checking they were surprised that he actually won a lot of school competitions but didn’t even say anything about them.
It seems that for Layton Lewis those competitions and events weren’t important and didn’t need to be mentioned to his parents as they aren’t involved in them.
Knowing the personality of his son Mrs. Sarah took the initiative to pay attention to the things Layton Lewis wasn’t mentioning but she didn’t mention it to him because he knew he didn’t want to be interfered with.
Ryzel could see that Layton Lewis was really very serious and independent even when he was still young.
Ryzel looks at the photos while listening to Mrs. Sarah’s stories about Layton Lewis.
After staying at Mrs. Sarah’s collection room, they continued looking around the mansion.
It seems that the Vespertine family still followed some traditional settings as he also saw painted portraits of all the past leaders of the Vespertine family in their collection rooms. Below the portraits were their names and their achievements in life.
After seeing all the portraits, he could finally understand how deep the foundation of the Vespertine family is. Even before the exploration era, the Vespertine family was already thriving.
Ryzel was amazed that the Vespertine family still maintained their standing for thousands of years.
From the portraits description he could understand that every leader of the family has a lot of achievements in their names, meaning in every generation they are always contributing to the people.
It seems that the Vespertine family maintained its standing because of all of their teachings.
According to Mrs. Sarah all the children in the Vespertine family would be taught about their responsibility even when they were still young.
They aren’t forced to learn anything as long as they can remember that they have their own responsibility and wouldn’t do anything that would spoil their own name after growing up.
They just needed to remember that they are responsible for their own life. With those, the family maintained its status for a very long time.
After touring around, they went to eat dinner and after confirming that everything was prepared for the wedding, they went back to rest early.
They naturally went to rest in Layton Lewis’ room. At least Layton Lewis room in this mansion isn’t deserted like their house near the Star Academy.
He could still see a lot of things that Layton Lewis used previously. He even saw a lot of things that Layton Lewis used when he was studying.
There were also a lot of diagrams of mechas in his room and there were also some board games tucked in the cabinet.
"Oh? you also used to play board games?" Ryzel asked as there were a lot of board games in the cabinet.
"Yes, I played it for a while," Layton Lewis answered.
"Only for a while?"
"Yes, because after a while only a few were able to defeat me most of them were easily defeated."
"Is that why you have different board games here?"
"I have a lot because Mervin refused to admit that he lost in every game we played so he brought different types of board games trying to defeat me in different games."
"So, did he win even once?" Ryzel asked curiously.
"No, he didn’t even win once, so after playing almost all the board games he finally gave up."
"Then, he left all the board games to you?"
"No, the ones in the cabinet were only the games we played here. He didn’t bother getting the board games back as he was already looking for a new game as soon as he lost, so they were still here."
"I see," Ryzel said. Mervin must have been frustrated not being able to defeat Layton Lewis in any board game he brought.
"Ryzel you should sleep early as we need to wake up early tomorrow," Layton Lewis said.
"I know, let me just look around for a bit," Ryzel said.
"By the way, Layton, where are we going again after the wedding?" Ryzel asked while still looking around the room.
After the wedding Layton Lewis still had one week left in his vacation so it was planned for them to travel around first before going to the frontlines.
At first Ryzel thought he still had to live for at least three more months in the Capital Star because he still had 1 semester left before he could finish his studies at the Academy.
However, Layton Lewis informed him a few days ago that he already asked the Academy for an early internship for him.
It was already agreed by the higher ups that it would be better for him to stay with Layton Lewis for his protection and also for him to continue sorting Layton Lewis’ mental sea. So, Layton Lewis was tasked to talk to the Academy for an early internship.
The last semester of students in the pharmaceutical department was for research and internship. After three months of doing their final research, they are going to have another three months of internship.
The students in the Academy would always be assigned to intern in different armies.
The sentinels would be assigned to where they wanted to be. However, it would be based on grades, those who had higher grades would always be the first to choose and those who have lower grades would be choosing later.
If the quota of a certain army was already filled, then they would have no choice but to go to other armies even if it wasn’t their first choice.
As for the guides, because of their small number, they are allowed to choose the army they wanted to go to as long as it is not the army that was stationed in the Capital Star.
Of course, there would be some exceptions like those with extremely poor health or those guides that already have a partner stationed in the Capital Star.
The guides who are already married would always be assigned to where their partners were so he would be automatically assigned to Layton Lewis’ Army.
He expected that he would have at least 3 more months of stay in the Capital Star, but it seems that it wasn’t possible.
They were just asking for him to be in Layton Lewis’ army earlier for better protection. So, of course he doesn’t have any qualms against it.
Ryzel knew that as one of the few 2S level guides he would be in danger once some of the people with bad thoughts acted. He still wanted to do a lot of things, so he didn’t want to die early.
He once mentioned to Layton Lewis that he already finished his research for the last semester. So, it seems that the Academy agreed for him to have an early internship as long as he submitted his research.
After Layton Lewis told him about it, he submitted the research he finished for him to have an early internship.
After the vacation of Layton Lewis, he would also go with him. Mrs. Sarah and the others planned a honeymoon trip for them after the wedding. So, after traveling they would go directly to the frontlines.
"They arranged for us to go to tourist planets that are enroute to the frontlines," Layton Lewis replied.
"That’s good, at least we don’t need to rush to the frontlines after their travels. How many planets are we going to visit?"
"It should be about three."
"I see."
Ryzel knew that there are more tourist planets along the way, but they don’t have enough time to visit all of them.
Layton Lewis vacation only have about a week left after their wedding so they can’t visit all the tourist planets along the way.
In fact, visiting 3 planets would already squeeze their days just to see what the planets have to offer.
With just a few days to travel to three planets they couldn’t visit all the places it has and will surely only visit the most famous sites.
Ryzel didn’t say anything anymore and just continued looking around the room.
After looking around for a bit more he finally satisfied his curiosity and went to bed. As soon as he lay on the bed Layton Lewis embraced him and said, "Let’s sleep."
