Affinity: Chaos-Chapter 1555 Unable To Be Marked
Chapter 1555 Unable To Be Marked
"Come out and help me escape from this monster!"
The man screamed after being forced to take an attack that almost cut him in half.
The power of Grey's attacks was just too much for him to handle. He has tried every possible means to force Grey back, but Grey was even more fearsome than Void. He could barely keep up with Grey's attacks. Grey was fast, his attacks were dangerous, and his defense was also very high.
The man had no way to hit Grey, yet Grey was constantly attacking him. He needed to escape now. If the others don't come to help him out, there's no way he would be able to leave this place alive.
Klaus and Reynolds were dealing with the duo inside, and there was no way for them to step out. They could've helped a few minutes ago, but with Grey taking over, there was no way to help out.
The distance between them and the man made it almost impossible for them to do anything at the moment.
The duo fighting with Klaus felt their entire world freezing over. Their bodies have started to show signs of being frozen solid.
Klaus had a smile on his face as he continued attacking the duo. The duo naturally fought back, but it was of no use. They couldn't hit Klaus due to his insane defense.
The other two fighting with Reynolds had sustained more injuries. Their bodies were riddled with injuries, and Reynolds wasn't showing any signs of stopping. He continued attacking, giving them more injuries.
The Bull could barely fight against Void. With Void's speed and attack power, and after its movement has been impeded by Grey, it couldn't do anything to Void.
A minute later, seeing there was no way out, the duo fighting Klaus exchanged glances, and as if coming to a decision, both nodded and did something Klaus never expected. The duo's life-force vanished and before Klaus' eyes, he saw a light shooting at him.
Without hesitation, Klaus covered himself with ice. His entire body became frozen solid.
The light hit him and didn't do any damage. He knew what it meant, it was the Necromancers trying to mark him. The fact that two of them sacrificed themselves to mark him was annoying to him. He knew how hateful this was when Grey was marked, and he didn't want to experience that as well.
The mark appeared on Klaus' chest, but the thing is, his entire body was made of ice at the moment. After a while, the ice that covered his body cracked and fell to the ground, along with it was the mark of the Necromancers.
Klaus successfully dodged being marked with the help of his amazing ice ability. Even when two Sovereigns used their life force, it still wasn't enough to mark him.
To be honest, he felt proud of himself, being able to make the effort of the duo useless wasn't easy. Most Sovereigns wouldn't be able to dodge being marked, especially when two Sovereigns sacrificed themselves, but he did, which was a proud moment in his life.
While he was in this state, Reynolds battered his opponents. They started to shake vigorously from the excess lightning that had entered their bodies. Just like Klaus' opponents, they decided to do the same thing, sacrifice themselves to mark Reynolds. They knew their chances of escaping alive were gone, so the best thing they could do was to mark Reynolds and make his life a living hell.
They sacrificed their life-force, and Reynolds saw their bodies give off a faint glow before the light shot at him.
His body was covered in lightning and he made a move to dodge the light coming at him.
His figure, which was covered in lightning, was soon hit by the glow. He was fast, but not faster than this glow, or so it seemed.
The glow attacked itself to the lightning figure that was moving, but on closer inspection, one could tell that the lightning figure was just that, a lightning figure. Reynolds' figure appeared on the other side of the house. He still had his armor on. The lightning figure that was hit by the glow was none other than the Elemental Warrior. But since it wasn't a living being, the mark was useless and faded off immediately. He quickly merged with the Elemental Warrior since the mark was useless against it.
All four Sovereigns sacrificed their lives, but they weren't able to mark neither Klaus or Reynolds.
….
Outside the place.
Grey and the man were still engrossed in their battle. When the man sensed the life force of his companions leaving their bodies, he felt his body quiver. He knew what it meant, and that was his only chance of escaping gone.
Grey was already too much to handle, once any of his friends joined in, then there was no way he would be able to survive it. freewe(b)novel
He gritted his teeth and unleashed the strongest attack he could muster.
The attack forced Grey back, and before Grey regained his footing, the man made a dash for it. He didn't want to fight with Grey, he wanted to escape.
Grey wasn't phased as the man tried to escape, rather, he looked on with emotionless eyes as he went after the man. The man wasn't able to run more than a kilometer before he was caught by Grey. He tried to fight back, but in a few moves, he realized there was no hope. With things being like that, he used his life force.
"At least you and your friends will be marked forever and Necromancers will hunt you for the rest of your lives." The man laughed hysterically.
Grey chuckled and said, "Do you sense any of my friends?"
The man's eyes widened and Grey couldn't help but laugh.
"We have ways to deal with your stupid mark. I've been marked before, so being marked again isn't a threat to me."
"Impossible! There's no way to remove the mark." The man didn't believe Grey's words.
"There is, you guys just didn't do enough research." Grry replied, he looked the man in the eyes and said, "Since you're going to die, I'll give you a hint. You live by the sword, you die by the sword."
The man looked at Grey, confused. He didn't know the meaning behind Grey's words. He knew what it meant, he just didn't know how it attributed to being marked by a Necromancer.
Grey didn't bother explaining as he waved his hand. Unlike the others, he already has a deep understanding of the mark and could deal with it as long as it hasn't merged with a human figure.
The man looked at Grey with regret, the light faded out of his eyes, as the glow shot at Grey. Before the glow got to Grey, it was extinguished.
A Necromancer that was running for his life on the ground dropped dead. Grey didn't use any special methods to stop getting marked, rather, he used the life force of another Necromancer to block the attack.
He looked at the weaker Necromancers running and with a simple wave, all of them turned into ice sculptures. These were people in the Sage Plane or the Venerable Plane at most. They couldn't fight back against someone like Grey.
The group made short work of everyone there and quickly left.
After leaving, they got Alice's message.
"Alice has broken through."
Grey informed the others.
"Took her long enough." Klaus commented.
"Oh I forgot." Grey brought out one of the stones used for checking ones elemental grades and told Reynolds to place his hands on it.
He wanted to confirm if Klaus was the only odd one or if his assumption was right, which was that his friends' elemental grades were improving.
Reynolds did as told. When the result came out, he was left stunned. He didn't think his elemental grade would miraculously increase all of a sudden.
"I see. That means I'm rubbing off on you guys." Grey said after the test.
"Is that a bad thing?" Reynolds asked.
"How's getting a better elemental grade a bad thing?" Klaus felt like beating Reynolds up.
He didn't think Reynolds would even utter such words. Their elemental grades increased and Reynolds was asking if it was a bad thing.
Reynolds looked at Klaus but didn't respond. He knew there was no way to defeat Klaus in a battle of words, and since his Elemental Warrior didn't improve much since his break through, he couldn't use it to threaten Klaus any more.
"I'll check Alice's own just to be sure." Grey said before telling Alice of their current location as well as what they were up to.
Alice, just like Reynolds started the journey to where the trio were.
Grey and the others didn't want her journey to he like Reynolds' journey, so they opted to stay at the City close to this hideout while waiting for her.
