Affinity: Chaos-Chapter 1538 Brave Thief
Grey didn't take any actions, he stood at the back as he watched the place descend into chaos. Some people tried to take advantage of the chaos and grab the treasure which was still giving off a shocking glow. But they were all attacked, some were seriously wounded, while others were even killed in the process. Those who weren't able to block these attacks were killed in an instant.
The number of Peak Venerables present was over a hundred, yet they were the ones who were the most daring. Even some First stage Sovereigns didn't dare to try to recklessly take the step, but these Venerables didn't seem to take their lives seriously, well, so the others felt.
The battle was deadly as everyone attacked to kill whoever got close to the place. The motive was clear, no one was allowed to get close to the place. All Third stage Sovereigns that were currently engaged in battle would simultaneously attack anyone who makes a move.
A Second stage Sovereign would find it hard to survive such an attack if they didn't retreat, much less a Peak Venerable who seemingly doesn't care for their lives.
People died, but the battle didn't stop. Some seconds later, the first Third stage Sovereign died. It was an old man who tried to get to the treasure by all means necessary. He was killed under the combined effort of everyone present. Even Grey secretly attacked.
Time slowly went by and Void sensed something.
"If you keep waiting, your treasure will be stolen right before your eyes." Void's statement alerted Grey and Klaus.
Grey focused on the place and noticed someone was slowly getting close to the treasure. The shocking thing was that this person was in the Late stages of the Venerable Plane, the Ninth stage to be precise. If not for Void whose senses are even sharper than most of these Third stage Sovereigns, there was no way he would've sensed this.
He smiled and made a move, there was no way this thing was going to be taken. Since he had his eyes on it, unless there was an appearance of someone in the Mid stages or Late stages of the Sovereign Plane. If not, he would never let it go.
Grey made his move, with his space element, switching places with a random Peak Venerable, and killing the person he was fighting with. He left the place in an instant, heading straight for the treasure.
Some time later, just as Grey arrived, he saw a cloaked figure grabbing the item. The moment he tried to make a move, the figure vanished at the speed of light.
Everyone else was fighting while Grey went straight for the treasure. He didn't care about those fighting. As long as he was cautious, there was no way they would sense his presence.
Some time later, just as Grey arrived, he saw a cloaked figure grabbing the item. The moment he tried to make a move, the figure vanished at the speed of light.
'Damn!'
He didn't waste any time and made a move as well. The figure had already taken the item, and he was the one standing close to it. No matter how he tries to explain, everyone would say he's the one who took it. So he didn't dare to stay.
As he vanished, he sensed some attacks, but he managed to leave the area successful. He didn't just escape, he went after the cloaked figure. This person might be fast, but then again, the person is only in the Venerable Plane.
Grey followed the direction the person escaped to, and sent Void and the bunny leader to the other two regions. With all three active, they would naturally sense the presence of the thief.
'Got him.'
The bunny leader contacted Grey. It was the one who sensed the presence of the person who stole the treasure.
Grey and Void went over to where it was, and after following the bunny leader's directions, Grey entered a cave.
Grey looked around, and didn't see anything suspicious, he went deeper into the cave and his expression changed. There were glowing stones on the wall that lit up the cave. He hid his aura and went deep into the cave, after a while, he caught sight of the cloaked figure close to a door.
The figure was about to open the door when he spoke.
"I'm surprised you managed to hide from all of them." Grey commented as he walked out.
The cloaked figure turned to look at Grey. The figure couldn't sense Grey's cultivation stage which indicated that he was stronger.
"I don't kill without reason. Hand it over and I'll let you live." Grey's voice turned cold.
The cloaked figure continued staring at Grey without taking any steps. Grey couldn't see the face of the figure properly, but he didn't care. No matter who this person was, he was going to take the item from them.
"You're only in the Ninth stage. I can kill you with one attack. Don't force my hand." Grey didn't want to become a mindless killer.
Most people would hand over the treasure since they're in the presence of someone stronger, and Grey expected something like this to happen. But to his shock, the figure didn't show any signs of wanting to hand over the item.
He snorted coldly, and took a step. With the wind element, he sent out a powerful gust that took the figure into the air.
The figure tried to fight back, but against Grey who was in the First stage of the Sovereign Plane, even someone on the same Plane could barely fight back, much less someone in the Ninth stage of the Venerable Plane.
The cloak on the figure flew off as the figure slammed into the wall by the side of the wall.
Grey was slightly taken aback by the figure he saw, but he didn't stop.
"Hand it over." His voice remained cold.
Before him, a young lady was exposed. She looked at Grey with a bitter expression, unwillingness present on her face.
"Over my dead body." She said after a while.
"I don't have the time to play with you."
Grey took a step forward and his aura changed, killing intent evident.
