Affinity: Chaos-Chapter 1532 Wrong Move
The other four reacted the moment the duo's attacks landed on the body of the Third stage Sovereign.
They sharply stood up and attacked where Grey and Klaus were standing.
The sitting order of the five was the Third stage Sovereign sitting in the middle, while there was a few meters gap before the others. He didn't sit close to them to show the difference in power.
Two attacked Grey, while the other two attacked Klaus from their end. The initial instance of this chapter being available happened at N0v3l.Bj'n.
On Klaus' end, there was the man in the Second stage and the other one who was in the First stage. They both attacked, without even bringing out their puppets since this was the fastest speed they could use in attacks, given the suddenness of the attack.
Klaus was covered with an ice dome that blocked both attacks. Cracks appeared on the dome, and after Klaus retreated, the dome shattered.
Grey directly evaded the attacks of his opponents, before standing beside Klaus as they locked their gazes on the duo each were about to face.
"This is all you have to offer? Necromancers truly are useless without their puppets." Klaus spat in disgust.
He was just attacked by two experts, one on the same stage as himself and the other had an even higher cultivation stage, yet they weren't able to instantly crush his defense, he even had time to retreat. These people were a disgrace.
The duo Klaus was talking to gritted their teeth angrily, but they didn't attack carelessly, they could tell the duo standing before them weren't ordinary people. The fact that they could instantly kill the leader of the group, even though it was thanks to their combined effort, it still showed how strong they were. Their leader wasn't even able to react before he was killed. Well, he tried to react, but it was too late.
Klaus' ice needle slowed down the circulation of the man's essence, which meant he wouldn't be able to attack or even defend against Grey's incoming attack.
In the end, he was killed due to being too slow to react, which was not something that was his fault since Klaus was the cause of it.
"Who are you two?" One of the men asked with a cold gaze.
"We are two people who hate vile people like you and want to exterminate you like the disgusting pests that you are." Klaus was the one who replied, he saw the four about to explode, and asked with a smirk, "What? Did I say anything wrong?"
"If you aren't pests, why are you hiding out here when you could be in the main part of the Continent?"
The men were speechless, with Klaus putting it like this, then they truly were pests, but they couldn't accept such words coming from the mouth of a youngster.
Without any hesitation, two attacked, bringing out their puppets. The duo who attacked were in the First stage, but their puppets were in the Second stage.
If Grey and Klaus didn't kill the Third stage Sovereign, there was a good chance he might've had a Fourth stage puppet under his control. But that is no longer relevant since he's dead.
Klaus took a glance at Grey who shook his head, he didn't want to cut the link of just two, but all four simultaneously. If the Second stage Sovereign had brought out his puppet, then he would've done it since taking out the First stage Sovereigns would be easier than fighting against a Second stage Sovereign who's extremely cautious and only wanted to escape.
Klaus took a step forward and a large ice wall rose, blocking the path of the puppets. Both puppets tried to brute force their way past the ice wall, but it didn't budge.
"If I were you guys, I'd commit suicide already, just imagine how pathetic you have to be not to be able to break my defense." Klaus mocked, laughing arrogantly.
Klaus has a way of easily riling up his opponents, there have been times some people give up the opportunity of escaping, just for the sake of trying to kill him. As much as Grey hated to admit it, Klaus' taunting ability was unparalleled.
The attacks of the two puppets started to make cracks appear on the ice wall. The two Necromancers smirked when they saw this, but they felt angered when they heard Klaus' next statement.
"What are you so happy about? After so many years, this is the only thing you've been able to achieve in your life, causing my ice wall to crack." Klaus scoffed, "Like I said, pathetic."
The Second stage Sovereign wanted to attack, but he felt like something was off. Given the attitude the duo used when they appeared, it showed that they wanted to kill them, but now, it seemed like Klaus was stalling for time.
Unless…
His eyes widened. Reinforcement is coming.
Klaus and Grey were already a handful, if a Second stage Sovereign joins them, then there would be no escape for them.
"Everyone attack, kill them." He ordered, "They're waiting for reinforcement."
Grey didn't expect the reason the Second stage Sovereign told the others to attack was due to his worry about them waiting for reinforcements.
He didn't care about it, since that was the case, then they were lucky. This would make everything easier.
The Second stage Sovereign brought out his puppet, and indeed, he had a Third stage Sovereign among them.
"Idiots." Klaus cursed loudly.
The Necromancers didn't understand the reason until a second later. Even before their puppets could attack, they felt their connections to the puppets forcefully cut off.
Grey has learned to make the effect worse, now, he doesn't just incapacitate them, he makes sure the backlash severely disorganises them. This gives him more time to do what he wants to. Also, it meant that he could also use it on people above his cultivation stage with ease.
All four were killed before they could even figure out what happened, with the exception of the Second stage Sovereign.
'Grey Dawson… no wonder.'
Now he knew the reason Grey was waiting, he wasn't waiting for reinforcements, rather, he was waiting for them to bring out their puppets.
