Addiction to Temptation: His Mischievous Sweetheart Captivates Him-Chapter 314: Failed Handcrafts
The small town of Luss is also known as The Town of Flowers.
Natalie Vaughn never expected that Zane Thorne’s afternoon plan was to personally weave a flower wreath for her, brew flower tea using fresh flowers, and then hand-grind coffee beans to make coffee.
Such a form of entertainment seemed somewhat mismatched with Zane Thorne — no, it was completely mismatched. Natalie recalled that when they first met, the places Zane took her to were bars, shooting ranges, and motorcycle tracks.
And now, it was unexpectedly such a girly form of entertainment.
It was like a complete transformation, and Natalie could almost guess where Zane got these ideas.
Although she preferred thrilling activities, she also had a fondness for these serene activities when enjoying the company of someone she liked. She cherished this kind of tranquil date.
What’s more, coming to such a town without doing some hands-on activities seemed like it would leave a sense of regret.
Natalie even went upstairs to change outfits, and also had Zane change clothes.
The two of them donned light blue couple outfits and sat in the small courtyard in front of the house, looking as beautiful as a painting.
Natalie had never done such things before, but that didn’t matter. With the advanced internet, a quick search would yield plenty of tutorials.
She sat on the chair, studying the process of brewing flower tea, while Zane sat on the swing chair clumsily weaving a flower wreath for Natalie.
For the sake of the mood, Natalie also played some light music.
Warm sunshine, flowers, blue sky, white clouds, music, a loved one, a small town...
Together, these elements compose a romantic scene.
But this beautiful scene only lasted for a quarter of an hour.
Neither of them had the patience for such tasks, and without guidance, relying on their own fumbling, this method quickly drained their enthusiasm.
So, after fifteen minutes, the scene changed to:
Natalie carelessly tossed the fresh flowers directly into the water and let them boil, then sat beside Zane to watch him clumsily weave the wreath.
Finding it unbearable, Natalie wanted to help. She discovered that while she had hands-on skills when it came to sewing, these skills seemed limited to making clothes.
Not only did she fail to offer Zane any help, but she also messed up the barely passable wreath he had made.
Natalie: ...
Zane: ...
Silence.
Only the sound of the wind and boiling water bubbling.
Natalie spoke first.
"Why don’t we just experience it? Let’s not focus on the outcome."
The frown on Zane’s brow had not completely relaxed. He thought he could transform his handiwork, that weaving a flower wreath would be no issue.
Apparently, he thought too much.
Such failure was unexpected for Zane; since childhood, anything he set his mind to, he accomplished. Failure didn’t exist for him.
Zane still wanted to try, taking the wreath that was still unformed from Natalie’s hands.
"Let me try again."
Natalie simply let the flower tea continue boiling, picking up a camera to document Zane weaving the wreath for her.
Half an hour later.
Zane and Natalie stared in silence at the flower wreath they had tortured beyond recognition.
Natalie couldn’t bear to see Zane wasting more flowers.
"How about we make coffee instead? We surely know how to grind coffee beans."
Zane, holding the disheveled mess that barely resembled anything, eventually gave up.
The flower tea was surprisingly bitter.
The flower wreath hadn’t taken shape.
The only activity left was making coffee.
Both were secretly determined to perfectly complete this last task.
Zane took on grinding the coffee beans, while Natalie was in charge of brewing; they divided the work.
Since both were frequent coffee drinkers, the task wasn’t unfamiliar. After another half hour, they finally tasted the fruits of their labor, having spent the entire afternoon.
Natalie took pictures of the coffee, the unwatchable flower tea, and the wreath, posting them on Weibo.
Caption: Planned to make some interesting things firsthand with him this afternoon. Didn’t expect we overestimated ourselves, only succeeding with the coffee. But it was still a very happy afternoon; his company was surprise enough.
Once edited, Natalie sent it out, regardless of the time back home.
The same content was posted on her Moments.
Unexpectedly, Theodore Langdon was the first to comment.
Theodore Langdon: Hahahahahaha! What was Mr. Thorne trying to do? How did the flowers end up looking like that?
A minute later, perhaps after Theodore spread the word, more onlookers gathered.
Felix Langdon: Wild guess, this was an attempt at a wreath?
Quentin Donovan replies to Felix Langdon: Are you sure that’s a wreath? It’s just a bare circle, couldn’t even weave three flowers on it.
Mr. Vaughn: Nina can make flower tea now? Make some for Dad when you’re back!
Mrs. Vaughn replies to Mr. Vaughn: Why don’t you seem interested when I make it?
Mrs. Thorne: So that’s why this boy called me asking about this stuff, turns out he was doing it with Nina. That cheeky boy finally isn’t that clueless.
James Vaughn replies to Mr. Vaughn: Dad, would you really dare drink that flower tea? Better be prepared with medicine.
Tanya Donovan: When will Nina come back? I’ll teach you how to weave a wreath.
When Natalie saw this, she raised an eyebrow, glanced at Zane, and quickly replied.
Natalie replies to Tanya Donovan: Sis, it’s not me trying to learn, you might want to teach Zane.
Zoe Chandler: Waaah! This class is unbearable! I also want to visit a Brythania town!
Summer Churchill: Waaah! Nina and her fiancé are so sweet!
Julian Sutton: Unsightly!
Genevieve Joyce: The flower tea must taste great made by Mrs. Vaughn!
Seraphina Sutton: Mrs. Vaughn’s coffee must be delicious!
Natalie: ...
Such days might seem overly calm, but to the usually busy pair, they were exceptionally relaxing.
The short two-day vacation came to an end like this.
Zane had someone come over later to discuss buying a house, and on the way back, Natalie felt a bit reluctant. Once the plane landed and they were in the car heading home, she realized they had to return to their busy routines.
But just after arriving home, a call came through.
Zane’s face immediately turned extremely grim.
Jay Sterling and Wish had an accident.
They hurried to the hospital, the drive swift as Zane sped, and Natalie’s lips were tightly pressed with worry evident on her face.
Zane didn’t explain what had happened, but from his expression, it seemed serious.
Jay Sterling and Wish were the most promising newcomers at the club, and now both were in trouble. How could they not be worried?
When they reached the hospital, Wish was sitting on a chair beside the club’s management, with the surgical light on.
Inside was Jay Sterling.
