Chapter 532: Chapter 486: That’s Ralph, Though

"Next up, it’s our turn to strike back, Kevin!"

Nameless contracted the Star Domain, bringing the eight celestial bodies close enough to be touched by hand. Then, with a quick grasp, he plucked a light blue sphere, as simply as unscrewing a light bulb. Suddenly, Nameless hoisted Kevin by the armpits, lifting him high like a scene straight out of "The Lion King."

"Nameless, what the hell are you doing!" 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Nameless lifted Kevin and placed him onto the orbital path of the simulated star system.

With a click—though in reality there was no such sound, just an imagined one in their minds—Kevin filled the gap left by the removed sphere, becoming a part of the star system. As he flailed in the air, he began to orbit around Nameless while also slowly rotating.

"The upcoming battle is quite simple. All I need to do is smash you into that bunch of tentacles. Serio is as good as dead!"

"Go, Kevin Star of Destiny!"

The simulated Star Domain expanded once more, placing the Star of Kevin on the outermost edge. His speed accelerated, creating a blur of afterimages under Nameless’s control. Then, like a meteor hammer grasped in Nameless’s hand, the Star of Kevin hurtled towards Serio.

A storm formed by high-speed winds contorted Kevin’s facial features, his teeth chattering as he screamed along his spinning trajectory.

"You son of a bitch, Nameless!!!!"

Nameless manipulated the entire Star Domain to follow Kevin’s movement, crushing everything in their path, his smile beaming.

"Kevin! This is for victory! For Lyle! You will understand! I’ve even thought out your prayer to the Evil God! Don’t worry, the Andrei Destiny Sect will surely flourish with both of us!"

With Nameless’s blessings, Kevin, spread-eagled in the air, crashed into the side of Serio, which was writhing with blue tentacles studded with blood-red eyes.

"Sink, bury."

The Deep Sea Omen sang a long, bizarre chant, extending twisted limbs covered with seaweed and barnacles. Around Serio, the scene changed as the air became tides and the ground transformed into the seabed. The rushing Kevin dramatically slowed as he approached, like a punch into water, its force and speed dissipating.

A thin film appeared around Kevin, a giant bubble made of air that shielded him from the touch of the tentacles. The tendrils, like sea serpents, surged towards Kevin and twisted away just before breaching the fragile bubble.

Serio released his tentacles and charged toward the center of the Star Domain, where Nameless was.

Serio had narrowly avoided disaster once already, and after his body nearly collapsed, he dared not try it a second time. But evading a human-sized physical collision? That should have been easy. Now that Kevin had become an untouchable poison, Serio aimed to eliminate the quack throwing the poison.

Eliminate Nameless.

Confronted with the tentacles, Nameless clicked his tongue lightly.

"Tsk, was Kevin’s fate backfiring?" In order to ward off Serio’s attack.

"Come back, Kevin!"

Nameless shrank the Star Domain back in, retrieving the Star of Kevin thrown into the sea, using it as a shield against the tentacles.

Serio withdrew his tentacles, and a soaked Kevin hung in mid-air, glaring at Nameless with a murderous look. He had just been toyed with like a yo-yo—a tremendous insult to Kevin personally.

"Kevin, can you not direct fate’s spear at me? I’m on your side..."

"Screw ’on your side’! Put me down now! I almost drowned just now!!!!"

"That would never happen, dear Kevin. You’re going to become the Evil God, and Evil Gods don’t drown!!!!"

"To hell with the Evil God! To hell with Nameless! Mention becoming a seafood product once more and I’ll lose it!"

Eventually, Nameless gave up on his conceived invincible tactic and put the furiously stomping young master down.

The situation reached a stalemate.

Nameless himself had no means to harm Serio, and Kevin, whose presence was kryptonite to Serio, was unwilling to sacrifice himself for victory—even if Nameless saw that so-called sacrifice as a tremendous boon. And while Serio couldn’t directly attack Kevin, Nameless could easily neutralize any indirect damage not originating from Evil God’s power.

Neither Nameless nor Serio could get the better of each other, and Kevin had no wish to do so.

In the end, Serio retreated.

"Your luck is beyond my imagination, Mr. Kevin. No wonder you can stand beside Lyle. This time, it was my mistake. With your incredible luck, continue to survive. Next time... I will find a way to harness that ultimate fortune."

Before turning to leave, Serio tapped his lower jaw with his index finger, a gesture that would have been cute if not for his distorted visage, combining into a kind of chilling psychological blow. Kevin, fighting nausea, listened to his words.

"Consider this a reward for your victory over me. I’ll give you some information."

The writhing flesh contorted into a crude smile.

"Loshutar has an army of vampires, a corrupted Legion of Holy Light, one of the three main forces of the Crusaders’ conquest wars. They should be heading your way by now—yes, that vast expanse of black clouds."

"Furthermore, regarding Degonris, the leader of this army resides there, one of the four great Angels of Holy Light."

"Mr. Kevin, are you ready to face the top power of this world?"

As Serio’s voice faded, his body tissues exploded into a puddle of flesh and blood, which the soil greedily absorbed. Soon, there was nothing left where he once stood.

Kevin looked at Nameless.

"We’re just letting him go like that?"

Nameless retracted the simulated star system, having been quite active in the battle, which nearly accounted for fifty percent of his life’s combat time. Although Advanced Magic was known for its small exertions and large yields, it demanded a high proficiency in casting techniques. If it weren’t for his naturally powerful spirit, he might have already met the Silver Sage.

"He let me go."

Serio could eliminate me with some time, and then Kevin would be nothing but a fish on the chopping board.

However, there’s a bigger threat right now.

"Kevin, you heard what Serio said just now, didn’t you?"

"Yeah, an Angel in Degonris and the former Legion of Holy Light, the vampire legion is on the way here, we are about to face an entire Legion of Holy Light, my Holy Light, just the two of us!" Kevin held his head in regret, thinking if he had stayed a few more days at Andrei Academy, he might have been able to recruit some strong allies. Why did he just slip away?

"What should we do, Nameless?"

As a result, Nameless covered his face and laughed heartily.

"Kevin, Serio is not a Follower of the Evil God."

Kevin was a bit confused by Nameless’s laughter.

"And then?"

"And then this area, this domain ruled by vampires," Nameless spread his arms wide, "all is under the skirt of the Goddess of Destiny."

Nameless chuckled, "Mr. Kevin, you just need to lift the skirt of the Goddess, and let the embarrassed Destiny slap all these little bugs to death."

Nameless snapped his fingers, "About that legion, Kevin, we do have outside assistance, very powerful, incredibly terrifying outside assistance."

"Is that so? I don’t seem to have..."

Kevin was interrupted by Nameless, whose index finger was wagging in front of them both.

"We have allies."

"But, I don’t recall..."

"We have allies. Repeat after me, Kevin. We have allies."

"We... have allies..."

"That’s right, repeat it with me a few times, we have allies."

"We have allies..."

After many repetitions, Kevin convinced himself; he was no longer worried, and his confidence returned to his chest.

Kevin walked chest out, head high, continuing toward Loshutar’s castle.

"Alright, Nameless, let’s keep moving and support Lyle," he said.

Nameless was delighted to see Kevin learn to anchor his fate so quickly and smiled, pointing out Kevin’s oversight.

"Kevin, haven’t you forgotten about Degonris? There’s still an Angel there that needs to be defeated. You missed that, although finding such strong support might be a bit difficult."

Kevin scratched his head, looking puzzled at Nameless.

"I didn’t miss it. There’s an Angel in Degonris, but Mr. Ralph is also there."

Nameless was stunned; Kevin’s answer seemed absurd to him.

"Kevin, that’s an Angel, an Angel!"

"But that’s Ralph."

"I know that human can be somewhat capable, but an Angel, a messenger of God, the pinnacle of the Holy Light’s power, the ruler of this era, the supreme force, do you understand?"

"But that’s Ralph."

Nameless was getting a bit impatient.

"Are you misunderstanding something about the leader of the Crusaders? Comparing it with the Legion, it’s not the Legion that made their leaders, but the leaders that made their Legion. Do you understand! A single Angel would pose a more serious problem than an entire leaderless Legion. The Legion is the leader’s wings, and without wings, the leader can still kill!"

"But that’s Ralph."

"Stubborn fool! How could humans possibly stand against Angels!"

"But that’s Ralph."

Kevin repeated the same line over and over again; he had lived in Cassandra for twenty years and known Lyle for four.

In those four years, Ralph Butler, the sinister sheriff, had become the worst nightmare for Kevin, the Child of Destiny.

"But that’s Ralph!"
