Chapter 264: Easter Egg Chapter: The Sword Transcendent_3

The first to unleash their weapon skill was the person atop the Little White Boat, whose Wind Sword skill was Windriding. It was, of course, impossible to cause an accident with the flying swords of experienced swordsmen like Johnnie’s group; Little White Boat wasn’t that foolish. He manipulated the breeze in front of him, barely disturbing everyone’s flight trajectory. As expected, everyone found themselves closer to another person. This was Little White Boat’s intent, to have them kill each other off, like the hand of God controlling the match.

This was an open strategy. Although the Wind Swordsmen were a bit annoyed, none of them were opposed to taking out a competitor nearby. Johnnie’s opponent was slightly weaker than him and seemingly understood Johnnie’s capabilities. However, that understanding was useless. The opponent dodged everything from a distance, even evading the fallout from exploding grenades. Unbearable, the opponent prepared for close combat only to be taken down directly by a preemptive strike from Johnnie.

After about three rounds of the tournament, a streak of sword light cut Little White Boat off his steed. It was another hidden skill, similar to a charging skill but with a high immunity to abnormal statuses, undisturbed. The Wind Swordsman faced an insurmountable opponent and ultimately used his hidden skill, defeating the game master, Little White Boat.

The chaos escalated once again, and the melee continued among the remaining dozen or so participants.

In the end, only Johnnie and his old rival, Sicarius, remained.

Sicarius’s Wind Sword glowed brilliantly, just like a lightsaber.

Johnnie’s expression grew solemn; that was the Clip-Wing Society’s Wind Sword skill, Ten Winds. As a Clip-Wing Master’s flight time increased, their attack power and speed would stack, accumulating to a terrifying 200 percent. The glow was the sign of his state reaching maximum stack.

Sicarius let out a proud laugh.

"Johnnie Walker, you should have stopped me. Now, everything is over. Face it, Ten Winds Tear! Become the stepping stone for my victory!" The terrifying attack speed of the Clip-Wing Master was faster than the Dragon-Snake Style Two. The dazzling sword light magnified in Johnnie’s eyes — soon, his head would fall.

Pfft.

It was the sound of slicing air.

Sicarius looked bewilderedly at where Johnnie was supposed to be, completely unable to comprehend how he had vanished into thin air.

Petals gently fell from the sky, showering down a rain of petals. The light pink hue wove a sweet dream, and in such a beautiful scene, Sicarius was stunned.

"So beautiful."

"Flower of Embrace, an item for couples. Once a relationship is established, the system sends it directly to your bag. When you use it on someone, their vision fills with beautiful petals, and you flash behind the person you used it on. It was designed for surprise embraces, but it’s quite suitable for backstabbing. I know you’re clueless about this practical item. That’s because you lot are a bunch of idiots without partners!!! Wind Swordsmen don’t need girlfriends!!!"

Pffch. The blade of Dragon-Snake Style Two plunged into Sicarius’s body. An irreversible, grave injury; Sicarius was defeated.

The Flower of Embrace disappeared from Johnnie’s hand. He patted Sicarius on the back, as if comforting a lover.

"My flower, pretty isn’t it." Johnnie looked at his Wind Sword, as the devastating wound by Sicarius’s groin gushed blood like an erupting volcano. "Your flower, is now ruined."

Johnnie pulled the Dragon-Snake Style Two out of Sicarius’s body. Watching his convulsing form falling downwards.

"When the autumn arrives, on the eighth of September, my flower blooms, and a hundred others are slain."

Johnnie closed his eyes, basking in his own rain of petals.

"Having slain the Heavenly Demon, I am now the Heavenly Sword."

From the unspeakable peak of the Crown of Heaven Tree, a resplendent glow descended, completely enveloping Johnnie. A new title was forming before his name.

Sword of Flower Slaying, Johnnie Walker.

Bathed in a glory deemed supreme by Wind Swordsmen, Johnnie felt himself slowly emptying.

He unconsciously opened a private chat window and stared at the blank sheet, his gaze growing dim.

"My heart, is the sword." He closed the chat window. Johnnie mounted the Flying Sword, and roared wildly and madly against the clear sky.

"I am free!!!"

The next day.

Johnnie, as usual, visited the forest where Dream Master often lingered. With an expression blank as a hollow doll, he was merely driven by an inner stirring, like a machine.

"Is Dream Master not here? Then I’ll meditate."

Mimicking the sitting posture he remembered from Dream Master, Johnnie tried to clear his mind, seeking immersion in nature’s breath. Yet, his inner distractions began to swell, and that face in his mind grew ever clearer.

"Xia Ya." Resurgence twitched in his heart, as the girl’s image seemed etched deep within. Johnnie felt his own cultivation was still too weak, his inner demons not fully purged.

Just as Johnnie Walker thought he was falling into madness once again.

Pink petals rained through the foliage, caressing his face.

"How beautiful."

Long arms reached from behind to cover his eyes, the voice of memory now merged with reality.

"Johnnie, I’ve missed you."

Crystal clear spring water spilled over clean stone slabs.

Dream Master lied beside the stream, listening to the sound of flowing water coming from the tranquil valley, draining his cup in one gulp. He raised his eyes to see a pair of orioles perching close together on a distant branch.

"One cannot be emotionless as flora and fauna."

"Since this land of illusion is fleeting like passing clouds, why not describe my experiences as perfect and beautiful?"

Dream Master weighed his empty flask, then stretched out to rest between heaven and earth. His demeanor lazy, yet tinged with a scholarly grace. As he merged with the landscape, he vanished from sight.
